2 THE VIRGIN MARY ACCOMPANIES US IN OUR PRAYER Invocation: In your presence, O Virgin Immaculate, with the joy of coming to sing your praises and invoke your protection of Mother, once again we greet you with the angel. Assembly: Hail Mary, full of Grace. You are Immaculate from the first moment of your existence. The Holy Spirit poured out upon you the fullness of His grace, and we say: Assembly: Blessed art thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Through Jesus, your Son, Our Lord, you are also our Mother and so confident we ask: Assembly: Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us May your intercession of Mother, O Virgin with the invocation of Choir, join us in the journey of our life and may the grace of the Merciful Love of the Heart of your Son reach us. Assembly: Pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death, Amen. AMBIENCE St. Paul, the apostle, teaches that when the completion of the time came, God sent his Son into the world, born of a woman, to redeem the subjects of the Law, to receive adoption as sons. In the divine plan for the Redemption of men by Jesus Christ, the Mother of the Redeemer, Mary, has a precise place. She is linked to the mystery of Christ, whom she is the real mother. Consequently, Mary was enriched in her body and soul with gifts worthy of such sublime dignity and greatness, and made by the Holy Spirit a new creature. And we can assured that She is the "most noble member of the Church, redeemed by Christ" because She was granted, in advance, with His Redeeming Grace from the first moment of Her conception. Therefore, She is the Immaculate. And, as the Venerable Mother Ágreda says: the most pleasant, agreeable creature to the divine eyes, the restorer of the first fault of the human race. 2

3 LISTEN AND MEDITATE Redemptoris Mater (John Paul II) The Blessed Virgin Mary in the Life of the Pilgrim Church The Mother of the Redeemer has a precise place in the plan of salvation, for "when the time had fully come, God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons. And because you are sons, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, crying, 'Abba! Father!'" (Gal. 4:4-6) With these words of the Apostle Paul, which the Second Vatican Council takes up at the beginning of its treatment of the Blessed Virgin Mary, I too wish to begin my reflection on the role of Mary in the mystery of Christ and on her active and exemplary presence in the life of the Church. For they are words which celebrate together the love of the Father, the mission of the Son, the gift of the Spirit, the role of the woman from whom the Redeemer was born, and our own divine filiation, in the mystery of the "fullness of time." This "fullness" indicates the moment fixed from all eternity when the Father sent his Son "that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life" (Jn. 3:16). It denotes the blessed moment when the Word that "was with God...became flesh and dwelt among us" (Jn. 1:1, 14), and made himself our brother. It marks the moment when the Holy Spirit, who had already infused the fullness of grace into Mary of Nazareth, formed in her virginal womb the human nature of Christ. This "fullness" marks the moment when, with the entrance of the eternal into time, time itself is redeemed, and being filled with the mystery of Christ becomes definitively "salvation time." Finally, this "fullness" designates the hidden beginning of the Church's journey. In the liturgy the Church salutes Mary of Nazareth as the Church's own beginning,for in the event of the Immaculate Conception the Church sees projected, and anticipated in her most noble member, the saving grace of Easter. And above all, in the Incarnation she encounters Christ and Mary indissolubly joined: he who is the Church's Lord and Head and she who, uttering the first fiat of the New Covenant, prefigures the Church's condition as spouse and mother. 4 Mystical City of God.( Sor María de Jesús) It is befitting and due to the infinite goodness of our Divinity, that It be founded and enclosed in the most pure matter, untouched and unstained by fault. Nor is it proper that our equity and providence over look what is most apt, perfect and holy, and choose that which is inferior, since nothing can resist our will (Esther 13, 9). The Word, which is to become man, being the Redeemer and Teacher of men, must lay the foundation of the most perfect law of grace, and must teach through it, that the father and mother are to be obeyed and honored as the secondary causes of the natural existence of man. The law is first to be fulfilled by the divine Word by honoring Her as his chosen Mother, by exalting Her with a powerful arm, and lavishing upon Her the most admirable, most holy and most excellent of all graces and gifts. Among these shall be that most singular honor and blessing of not subjecting Her to our enemy, nor to his malice; and therefore She shall be free from the death of sin. (MCG. B.I 193) Now the time has arrived added his Majesty, which was resolved upon by our Providence for bringing to light the Creature most pleasing and acceptable to our eyes. That Creature, in whom the human nature is freed from its first sin, who is to crush the head of the dragon, who was typified by that singular sign, the Woman that appeared in the heavens in our presence, and who is to clothe the eternal Word with human flesh. B.I 197) WE PLACE OUR PRAYERS IN THE HANDS OF MARYAND WE ASK FOR HER INTERCESSION Now we can present our intentions or thanksgivings LET S PRAY TOGETHER Hail, Holy Queen, Mother of mercy, our life, our sweetness and our hope. To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve: to thee do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this valley of tears. Turn then, most gracious Advocate, thine eyes of mercy toward us, and after this our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus. O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary! Amen. 4

5 FINAL PRAYER O Lord! You prepared, thanks to the Immaculate Conception of the Virgin Mary, a worthy dwelling to your Son, and in anticipation of the death of your Son you preserved Her from all sin, grant us, through Her intercession, reach Thee clean from all our sins. Through Christ our Lord. Amen. PRAYER FOR THE CAUSE OF THE VENERABLE MOTHER Our Lord and our God, glorify on earth the Venerable Mother Sister Maria de Jesus de Agreda, she helped us to discover the magnificent treasures of grace bestowed on the immaculate Mother of your son and let us, like her, go into Jesus by Mary. We ask it on behalf of Jesus Christ, your Son, and by the intercession of the Virgin Mary, our Mother. Amen. 5
