1 HOLIDAY SPARKLE PAGEANT Tentatively: Dec. 13, 2015 Contestants may live anywhere in the USA. This is a fun pageant! Open to all ages. Everyone will receive a copy of Pageantry Magazine & a tiara. Judging will be based on runway, formal wear and on stage interview. Each winner will receive a beautiful Holiday certificate, sash & tiara/crown. We do not double crown. Entry fee is $60. Early Bird Entry Deadline is November 9, Final deadline is November 30, Pageant will be held in London, Ohio Pageant Everyone, age 5 & older, will be asked to answer 4 fishbowl questions on stage. Children 13 months to 4 years will be asked their name, age, & favorite thing. All contestants will compete in formal wear. The Royalty Pageant will be based on poise, appearance, and interview. Dress Code for all ages. Glitter is ok but avoid super, ultra glitz. Avoid excessively plunging necklines or excessively high splits in skirts. Clothing, hair & make up must be age appropriate. No hair extensions or flippers. We want natural looks. Formal Wear: Ages 0-4 Girls & boys should wear dressy outfit. Ages 5-7 boys should wear a dressy outfit or suit. Ages 5-10 Girls may wear long or short formal. Ages 11 & up should wear a long, formal gown.

2 OPTIONALS: Best Formal Wear-All contestants will compete in formal wear & answer the fishbowl questions. Those who enter Best Formal Wear Optional will be judged at the same time on their selection of formal wear. Best Hair, Eyes, Smile: Contestants entering these optionals will be judged on appearance of the selected optional during the on stage presentation while in formal wear. Sports Wear: Outfit of your choice. This is street wear & should have a tailored look. This is NOT a sports uniform. Costume: Any costume of your choice. This may be a Halloween or Historical Costume. Costume must be age appropriate. Interview Attire: This should be an outfit appropriate for an interview. Best interview: You will wear your interview attire and will have a private interview with the judges. Talent: This can be any performing talent. Bring any props needed. A piano is NOT available. Your outfit should be appropriate for your talent. Modeling: Choose a fun outfit to model & create your own routine. If you require specific music, please have it recorded & ready on a cd or ipod. Be sure everything is labeled with your name and which track to play. Be sure music lyrics are appropriate. Photogenic: Submit your best 8x10 photo. Label the back of your photo with contestant s first & last name, division and optional entered. Submit with application by the pageant deadline. Portfolio: Submit a minimum of four 10 8x10 photos that include at least 2 head shots and 2 body shots. Label the back of each photo with contestant s first & last name, division and optional entered. Submit with application by the pageant deadline. Achievement Award: Complete an additional application that can be found at that outlines your achievements. You may add additional copies of each page and photos of your achievements. Label your achievement record with contestant s first & last name, division and optional entered. Submit with application by the pageant deadline. High point: At least 4 optionals must be entered to be considered for the highpoint winner. If 5 or more optionals are entered by a contestant, the 4 with the highest scores will be used for highpoint competition Supreme: You must enter at least 6 optionals. If 7 or more optionals are entered by a contestant, the 6 with the highest scores will be used for Supreme competition Grande Supreme: You must enter at least 9 optionals. If 10 or more optionals are entered by a contestant, the 9 with the highest scores will be used for Grande Supreme competition. Special Holiday Fun Contests There will be one division for the contestants & a separate division for family members or friends. Prizes will be awarded but will not count in the pageant optionals. Best Holiday Scrapbook Page: Create your best holiday scrapbook page. Please limit this to a single page. Best Wrapped Holiday gift: Wrap an empty box/bag. Use any holiday gift wrapping & be creative. Best Holiday Sparkle wrapped gift: Wrap an empty box/bag. It must be sparkly! Be creative. Best Homemade Holiday Decoration: Make your own holiday decoration using any medium. Be creative. Best thank you letter to Santa: Write a letter to Santa thanking him. Receive a $5 refund, up to the total amount of your entry fee, for each paid contestant referred by you that enters an American Excellence Pageant. Family discount: If more than 1 family member in the same household enters, the pageant, the first contestant pays full price & each additional member will receive a $5 discount. 6 Shelter for outdoor cats Shelter Directions. Needed supplies: 18 gal tote Styrofoam cooler Insulation (hay, bubble wrap, newspaper, etc.) Duct tape Exacto knife Hair dryer optional to soften plastic Bedding (blanket, hay or straw) (hay or stray tends to be warmer) 1 2 Cut a 6 diameter hole in the tote for an entrance. A hairdryer may be used to heat & slightly soften the plastic. *Always have adult supervision and cut away from your body Insert your StyroFoam cooler insulation and cut a matching 6" diameter hole to match the tote. 3 4 Add hay or straw in and around the Styrofoam cooler for added insulation, using as much as possible. Other insulating material may be uses between the tote and cooler. If bubble wrap or packing peanuts are used be sure that they are biodegradable versions or make sure that they are sealed away from the cats. Add your Styrofoam lid for added insulation. Secure lid in place with a few pieces of duct tape. 5 Complete by adding your lid back onto the tote. You may want to place additional duct tape on the lid as well. Be sure that there is hay, stray or a blanket inside the shelter. Hay or stay tends to stay warmer than blankets.
