Level of difficulty, the amount of techniques and motifs used 20% * the use of a distinct 3D motif or a 2D motif (3D is rated more highly) * the amount of techniques * the amount of (types of) additional elements (flowers, twigs - so as to be appropriate) 3. Originality, creativity 20% * a dominant original feature is rated more highly 4. Technical assessment - workmanship 20% * purity of workmanship (clean cuts) * regularity of cuts (in motifs where regular cuts are important) * fineness of the work * the use of a knife (how often a knife and chisels are used) prizes: travelling cup: jury panel: * according to the score assigned, the participants will receive gold, silver, bronze medal or a participant's diploma the participants in the 1st - 3rd positions in each category will each receive a cup in cat. A (non-competitive) - each participant will receive a commemorative diploma and a medal The travelling CZECH CARVING CUP and the title of "Pumpkin Champion" will be received by the competitor who will get the highest score in cat. B and C (the sum) conditions for awarding: * a minimum of 5 competitors competing in cat. B and C * winning at least one gold medal or two silver medals * it s not possible to carve the same motifs (main motifs) in the products in cat. B and C * the jury panel will consist of the leading experts on culinary and confectionary art

4 cat. A Rules for Individual Categories * non-competitive carving - NEW "Pumpkin Carving Show" instructions: To carve a composition or a product (one piece is also sufficient ) from a pumpkin. This can be supplemented with other products from vegetables and fruit - these can be previously carved and brought to the site as finished products. the organiser will ensure: * a table, a chair and a wastebasket participants: will ensure for * raw materials, tools, a cutting board, plates for presentation, possibly themselves: bowls and wiping cloths * possibly a decoration for the finished product (the decoration is not assessed) * the competitor can bring his/her own chair general terms and conditions: * the basis should be made of pumpkin * a part of the product may consist of other raw materials * some of the products, even a partially carved pumpkin, can be brought to the site * the final decoration is up to the participant * please, comply with the time limit for carving - for the sake of the visitors on the exhibition grounds * everyone participates at their own risk cat. B * carved decorative pumpkin with any motif PUMPKIN 2012 instructions: To carve a decorative pumpkin with any desired motif (for example, flowers, animals, submarine world, man, ) the organiser: will ensure: * area on a table 80x80 cm * a white tablecloth on the table; a card with a number (you will receive this when the attendance list is made) participants: will ensure * decoration on the table (which is not assessed),possibly for themselves: a label describing the product rules of the competition: * the pumpkin or the pumpkin composition will only be displayed; it cannot be finished on the exhibition table * pumpkins or compositions that will have a morally unfit motif will be excluded from the exhibition * the size is up to the author * the area can be used for an exhibit with multiple pumpkins * however, it is not possible to exceed the given area with the pumpkin composition * it is only allowed to exceed the area if a single large pumpkin is used * the min. size of the pumpkin or the pumpkin composition is a width of 25 cm * the max. height is 100 cm * the pumpkin or the pumpkin composition can be supplemented with other carved products made of other vegetable materials (max. 25 %) - for example, fish in an aquarium * every exhibitor must have a card with a number next to their exhibit, otherwise assessment cannot be carried out (you will receive this card when the attendance list is made)
