2 Location The Station is situated at the heart of the El Questro Wilderness Park in the East Kimberley. The Station has an ideal location near Kununurra, just 110 kilometres west by road, 58 kilometres on the sealed Great Northern Highway towards Wyndham, with the remainder on the unsealed and corrugated gravel Gibb River Road - regarded as one of the great Australian 4WD adventures. 4 The Station The Station is the central hub of El Questro Wilderness Park. On the banks of the Pentecost River, sprawling evergreen station lawns provide contrast to the surrounding landscape. It s a great place for a real family holiday, kids can run around and explore the wide open spaces and see the kind of wildlife you just don t get in the city. Relax on the riverbank, swim in the tranquil swimming hole and in the evenings enjoy the best freshly made cuisine at the Steakhouse restaurant. 5 Eat and Drink at The Station Steakhouse Restaurant Overlooking the Pentecost River is the spacious El Questro veranda restaurant, The Steakhouse. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, The Steakhouse is famous for its barramundi and succulent beef, accompanied by Western Australia s finest wines. The Steakhouse Restaurant is the perfect El Questro restaurant option for the whole family, with a children s menu available. Swinging Arm Bar Authentic in every way and open every day of the season, the Swinging Arm Bar offers a fully stocked bar and snacks. It s a great place to relax and swap tales with fellow adventurers. You can also enjoy campfire entertainment most nights. Saturday Night at the Station Set outside under the stars, a traditional Aussie BBQ feast including fresh barramundi and steak is cooked in front of your eyes over an open grill. 6 Camping We have two distinctly different ways to enjoy your El Questro camping experience. The first is at a location known as Black Cockatoo, central to the guest showers, bathrooms and the Station Store. Here you will meet and mix with other outback adventurers, all travelling with their own camping gear. Alternatively, you can choose from a selection of private sites, all secluded from other campers. These sites are approximately a ten-minute drive from the central facilities building, which is available for use at no extra charge. Riverside campsites are along the Pentecost River close to the Station. Please note that private sites are limited and subject to availability. Which El Questro campsite you choose is up to you. Simply decide when you check in at the Station Store upon arrival. For Private Riverside campsites and for groups of more than 10 persons, pre-bookings are required. Visitors camping must purchase a Wilderness Park Permit in addition to their camping fee. Camping season is 01 April to 31 October, subject to climatic conditions. Activities Start your exciting holiday in the Kimberley at The Station. From your base at The Station, experience boating on the Chamberlain Gorge, or the relaxing thermal pools of Zebedee Springs. A scenic helicopter flight through canyons and gorges, past waterfalls and caves offers unrivalled views of this awesome and ancient country. Horse trekking is a fabulous way to observe all kinds of Kimberley wildlife. Accompanied by your El Questro Ranger, you will be introduced to a wide variety of animals, birds and maybe even a saltwater crocodile!

8 Getting to El Questro El Questro is situated in the East Kimberley, 110 kilometres west of Kununurra by road - 58 kilometres on the sealed Great Northern Highway towards Wyndham, with the remainder on the unsealed and corrugated gravel Gibb River Road. Up-to-date road conditions and information are available 24 hours a day on Be careful not to underestimate travelling time when driving in the Kimberley. Allow an average speed of 80 km per hour on sealed roads and 50 km per hour on unsealed roads. Always ensure you carry adequate supplies of fuel, food and most importantly, water. Nearly all of the Kimberley is cattle country, most roads are unfenced, which means cattle, and horses can wander across the road at any time. Night driving can be dangerous due to straying animals. Extreme care is advised. Large road trains (semi trailer with three other trailers) can be up to 50 m long. Caution is recommended when overtaking these vehicles.
