1 Steps to be performed to Install MATLAB on your personal computer: Step 1: Create your Mathworks account. Step 2: Associate your Mathworks account with the TAH license. Step 3: Download, Install, and Activate the product files. If you have any installation issues, contact the Mathworks Customer Service Department: Technical Support: Tel: , option 2 Monday-Friday Hours: 08:30-20:00 ET Step 1: Create your Mathworks account. You must create a user account on the Mathworks website to be able to download, install, and activate the software. Step 1.1: Go to the Mathworks website. In a web browser go to Click on Create Account. Step 1.2: Create a Mathworks account.
2 The field MUST be your YSU address and end Create a password for this account. Do NOT use your YSU password. Change the "How Will You Use Mathworks..." field to Academic Use. Fill in your contact information. Scroll down and click Submit. Close this browser window. Step 2: Associate your Mathworks account with the TAH license. The type of license that you are installing MATLAB under is called a Total Academic Headcount (TAH) license. You need to associate your Mathworks user account that you created in the previous step with the TAH license. This is done by using your Activation Key Step 2.1: Go to the Mathworks website: in a web browser go to (click on login)
3 Step 2.2: Log in to your Mathworks account. Enter address and password of your Mathworks account. Click Log In. Step 2.3: Go into your account settings. Click on My Account.
4 Step 2.4: Associate your Mathworks account with the TAH license. Click on Associate Now. Step 2.5: (continue) Associate your Mathworks account with the TAH license. Select Activation Key. Click Continue.
5 Step 2.6: (continue) Associate your Mathworks account with the TAH license. Enter your Activation Key Do not lose this key or give it to anyone else. You will need to enter this key again when you activate the software. Click Continue. Step 2.7: (continue) Associate your Mathworks account with the TAH license. Click Done.
6 Step 2.8: Exit out of account settings. Click Logout. Close this browser window. Step 3: Download, Install, and Activate the product files. You are now ready to download, install, and activate the MATLAB software. Step 3.1: Go to the Mathworks website: in a web browser go to (Login to your account)
7 Step 3.2: Go into your account settings. Click on My Account. Step 3.3: Download the software: Click on Download Now.
8 Step 3.4: (continue) Download the software. Step 3.5: (optional) Click on Download.
9 If you do not have Java JRE installed then click on Get JRE and follow the instructions. If you do install JAVA JRE here then when it is done you will need to go back to (do not use the BACK button in your browser.) You should still be logged in. Go back to Step 3.2 and proceed again from there. This time you will not be prompted to install JAVA JRE. Step 3.6: (continue) Download the software. Choose what you want to download, typically whatever is shown as the Current Release. Click Continue. Step 3.7: (continue) Download the software: Click Run
10 Step 3.8: (continue) Download the software: Click next Step 3.9: (continue) Download the software: click download
11 Step 3.10: Install the software. Select Start Installer. Click Finish. Step 3.11: (continue) Install the software. Select Install using the Internet.
12 Step 3.12: (continue) Install the software. Select Yes to accept the license agreement. Step 3.13: (continue) Install the software.
13 The TAH license is displayed. Step 3.14: (continue) Install the software. Select Typical. Step 3.15: (continue) Install the software.
14 Choose an installation folder. The default is generally fine. Step 3.16: (continue) Install the software. Click Install to start the installation. Let the installation finish. It might take some time. Step 3.17: (continue) Install the software. If any Notes are displayed click Next.
15 Step 3.18: Activate the software. Select Activate MATLAB. Step 3.19: (continue) Activate the software.
16 Step 3.20: (continue) Activate the software. Enter your Activation Key This is the same key that was used to associate your Mathworks user account with the TAH license. Step 3.21: (continue) Activate the software. The user name displayed is who you are logged into Windows as. MATLAB will only run when you are logged in with this user name. Step 3.22: (continue) Activate the software.
