1 TRANSFERS Frequently Asked Questions Q: How do I transfer between my Verity accounts? A: To transfer money between your Verity accounts, click on the Transfer Funds tab and the Transfer between your accounts link in the left navigation bar. For immediate transfers, select the One Time Immediately tab. Then from the drop down menus, select the account you want to transfer from and the one you want to transfer in to. Fill in the amount and click Continue. Review your transfer. If you need to change something, click Edit. If it looks correct, click Confirm & Transfer. Note that federal regulations limit the number of times you can transfer money out of savings accounts without signing for the transaction. Transferring money electronically falls under this regulation. You can only transfer from savings six times each month. Page 1

2 You can also schedule one-time transfers for the future. To schedule a transfer, click on the Transfer Funds tab and the Transfer between your accounts link in the left navigation bar. Then click on the One Time in the Future tab. From the dropdown menus, select the account you want to transfer from and the one you want to transfer in to. Fill in the amount, choose the date you want the transfer to occur and click Continue. Review your transfer. If you need to change something, click Edit. If it looks correct, click Confirm & Schedule. To set up a recurring transfer between your Verity accounts, click on the Transfer Funds tab and the Transfer between your accounts link in the left navigation bar. Then click on the Recurring tab. Select the accounts you want to use from the dropdown menus, enter the amount you want to transfer, how often you want the transfer to occur and when you want the recurring transfer to start. Page 2

3 There are several options on how frequently transfers occur. Select the one that best suits your needs. You can also choose how many times the recurring transfer occurs. If you want to keep it on going, select Never under the Ends heading. When everything is set up, click Continue. On the next screen, review your recurring transfer and click Edit to make changes or Confirm & Schedule to finish. Q: Can I set up a recurring transfer between my accounts? A: Yes. You can set up transfers to occur from once a week to once a year. See the steps in the first question for how to do it. Q: Can I schedule transfers between my accounts in the future? A: Yes. You can schedule a transfer between your accounts for up to a year in the future. See the steps in question #1 for how to do it. Q: How do I see scheduled transfers between my accounts? A: To see any transfers you have scheduled between your accounts, click the Transfer Funds tab and then the Scheduled Transfers link in the left navigation bar. This will bring you to your scheduled transfers screen. Click on the From account for any of the transfers to make changes. To delete a scheduled transfer, click the trash can icon. Page 3

4 Q: How do I transfer to someone else s Verity account? A: To transfer to another members account, click the Transfer Funds tab and then the Transfer to an account that is not yours link in the left navigation bar. If you re doing a transfer to someone s account you transferred to before the Online Branch transition, you should see the account available. If this is the first time you ve transferred to another members account, you will see a popup box saying you need to set up your accounts. To set up a new account for transferring, click on the setup your accounts link. Or, click the Account Services tab, then the Requests link in the left navigation bar, and then the Setting up transfer to another customer link. Enter a nickname that you will remember. Click Submit when complete. This member s account will stay in your Cross Account Transfer list. To set up the transfer, go back to the Transfer to an account that is not yours screen. From the drop down menus, choose which of your accounts you want the money to come out of and which other member s account you want the money deposited into. Select the amount and add a description for your record keeping, if desired. Click Continue when done. Page 4

5 Be sure to review your transaction and make any needed changes. When it looks accurate, click the Confirm & Send button. You can also use Bill Pay and Popmoney to transfer money to other Verity members. For more information, read the Bill Pay and Popmoney FAQs. Q: Can I schedule future or recurring transfers to another member s account? A: Yes, if you set up the transfer through Popmoney or Bill Pay. Read the Popmoney and Bill Pay FAQs for more information. Q: How do I transfer to an account outside of Verity? A: External transfers are available by visiting the Payment Center and clicking Transfer Money in the left navigation bar. To make the transfer, select the required accounts, enter the amount you want to transfer and the date you want the money to be debited from your Verity account. Then hit Preview Transfer. The first time you transfer to an account at another financial institution, you need to set up the external account. This process generally takes a couple days. To set up an account, click the Add an Account link. Page 5

6 Next input the required information and click Add Account. Sometime in the next couple days, Verity will make two test deposits into the account and one withdrawal. After that happens, come back to the Transfer Money section of Bill Pay and enter the two deposit amounts when prompted. After you verify the account, you will be able to transfer money from Verity to the account at another financial institution. To view which external accounts you have set up, go to the Payments tab, Pay Bills and click the My Accounts link in the left navigation bar. Then click the Other Accounts tab to view your accounts outside of Verity that you have set up for transfers. Q: How long does an external transfer take? A: External transfers should take 2-3 business days to get from Verity to your other financial institution. Q: How do I transfer money to a loan? A: To transfer money to a loan, you need to act like you re making a payment. Go to the Payments tab and click the Loan Payments link in the left navigation bar. From the drop down menus, select the account you want the money coming out of and then the loan account you want to receive the funds. For Payment Type, you can choose either a regular payment or a principal only payment. If you choose principal, the money you put towards the loan will not count as a regular payment; you will still need to make sure your payment processes by your due date. Fill in the amount you want to transfer and click Continue. On the next screen, review your transfer and click Confirm & Pay. And just like with other transfers between your accounts, you can schedule loan payments and transfers in advance. To do so, follow the steps from the first question. Page 6

7 For a faster way to the loan payment screen, you can also click the Pay Now button next to the loan in your Accounts Overview screen. Doing so will take you to the loan payment screen. Q: How do I transfer money from my line of credit? A: To take funds from your line of credit, go to the Transfer Funds tab and click the Advance Funds link in the left navigation bar. From the drop down menus, select your line of credit and then the account you want to receive the funds. Input the amount and click Continue. On the next screen, review your transaction and click Confirm & Advance Funds. And just like with other transfers between your Verity accounts, an advance on a line of credit can be scheduled in the future or set up as a recurring transaction. Follow the steps in the first question to set those up. For a faster way to the Advance Funds screen, you can also click the Cash Advance button next to the line of credit in your Accounts Overview screen.
