2 Job Description Job Title: Reports to: Responsible for: Employability and Work Experience Manager Curriculum Director Employability Coaches Main Duties This post will require excellent communication with both employers and external organisations to design and deliver programmes for pre-employment training and work experience. The Manager will ensure quality of all programmes taught by employability team are to a high standard and have a consistent approach. The post holder will be responsible, under the direction of the Curriculum Director, for the line management of a small group of staff. This will include performance and absence management. The post holder will be required to attend and support information events to recruit students onto planned programmes of learning. Additionally it is expected that the post holder will have the necessary skills and experience to identify areas for personal development and training of those who participate in learning. Developing and implementing a college Employability and Work Experince Strategy Create and deliver relevant, informed employability sessions as part of the study programme to support student development. To manage a team of full, part time and sessional staff including agreeing key performance indicators, completing their annual appraisal / monthly reviews, managing their performance and attendance / ensuring efficient and effective deployment. Ensuring complete compliance with all College policies, procedures and protocols. Provide specialist advice to students, individually or in groups and be responsible for planning and delivering actions to meet the aims and objectives of the Employability Strategy Be responsible for researching, analysing and evaluating Labour Market Information to assist students with making informed career choices. Be responsible for developing and maintaining key internal relationships to raise the profile of the employability and work experience programme and to be the recognised point of contact Be responsible for independently, or collaboratively organising internal and external employability events including, but not restricted to, careers fairs, industry expert speakers, external visits, networking, employer led seminars and forums. Be responsible for ensuring effective and appropriate communication with students, curriculum and employers to deliver our Employability Strategy. Undertake development and training as required for the position. Be willing to travel to other campus as required

3 To undertake any other reasonable duties which may be required from time to time by the Principal. Other Duties This Job Description sets out the major duties associated with this post, it is assumed that other duties of a similar level / nature undertaken within the Team are not excluded simply because they are not itemised. Duties of the post could vary from time to time as a result of new legislation, changes in technology or policy / needs of the individual student, in this event appropriate training will be provided. The post holder will be expected at all times to operate within the College s Policies, particularly in respect of: Equality and Diversity, Health & Safety, Risk Management, Financial Regulations, Safeguarding. 4 Person specification Essential Desirable Education & Qualifications Vocational qualification (Level 4) or equivalent experience. Appropriate teaching qualification such as: PGCE, Cert Ed or DTLLS or equivalent Knowledge of employability skills in relation to recruitment G.C.S.E. at grades A to C or the equivalent in Maths & English Health & Safety qualification at Level 2 or ability to achieve IAG qualification Level 3 Specialist Knowledge & Skills Knowledge of Health and Safety procedures A good understanding of facilitating Good administrative, ICT and organisational skills Good understanding of SMART target setting Understanding of Equality & Diversity Understanding of Safeguarding Knowledge of the Further Education Sector First Aid at work certificate or be willing to work towards one Relevant Experience Evidence of relevant and professional development Evidence of supporting students within an educational environment Evidence of utilisation of ICT skills Evidence of managing groups of students and staff Interpersonal & Communication Skills Ability to communicate both orally and in writing with people at all levels Ability to work with minimum supervision Able to demonstrate flexibility Good team worker Willingness to undergo any further training identified and agreed The ability to motivate & support others Additional Requirements Flexible approach to working hours

5 Employability and Work Experience Manager Terms and conditions of service Conditions of Service will be those as set in the Easton and Otley College Academic contract. Salary will be on the scale of circa 22,000 to 30,000. Hours of duty will be 37 per week. The post holder will be expected to have a flexible approach to working hours. The person appointed has the right to take up the option of joining the Teachers Pension Scheme. The College will assume that this is the case unless an opt-out form is completed within the time limit allowed. Annual leave entitlement will be 50 days per annum (pro-rata d for part time employees) which includes up to 5 days which the College may pre-determine and all bank holidays. New entrants to the service are entitled to annual leave proportionate to the completed months of service in a leave year, which runs from September to August. The person appointed will be subject to a probationary period of 9 months. During this time regular reviews will be undertaken and discussed with the employee. Any offer of appointment will be subject to receipt of satisfactory references, medical clearance and Disclosure and Barring Service check.
