1 IMPORTANT - Upcoming Events Educational Talent Search (ETS) ( or toll free at ) Mark your calendars! Here is a list of currently planned ETS spring activities. There will not be follow-up mailings for these activities. Any additional information will be posted at - check in and check often! Please pay close attention to the grade levels, dates, times, locations, and topics for each program. Remember, all programs require pre-registration. You will receive assistance in completing your FAFSA. Computers will be available for online filing. The FAFSA deadline for Pennsylvania is May 1 and many schools have deadlines as early as February 15 for institutional aid. Character values like courage, integrity, commitment, and citizenship are valuable in any career path. Examples of how these values enabled Congressional Medal of Honor recipients to overcome staggering obstacles and succeed will be featured. Discover your strengths and how you can rise to the challenges in front of you. A service project for military men and women and veterans will be completed. 6th - 12th Graders (Families also invited to attend.) The Conduit Gong Show Thursday, February 26, :15pm - 9:00pm Rhoades Auditorium, Venango Campus The Conduit is a group of sound meditation performance artists. Formed in 2008, they have honed their craft using large planetary gongs, Himalayan and crystal singing bowls, and a variety of other instruments. 6th - 12th Graders Kitchen Sink Science Saturday, March 21, 2015 10:00am - 1:00pm 166 Ralston Hall, Clarion Campus Explore science phenomena with everyday items from your kitchen cupboards.

Experiments will include Magic Milk, Erupting Soap, Elephant Toothpaste, Lava Lamps, Marbleizing Paper, Borax Bouncy Balls, and Baggie Ice Cream.

College Visitation Indiana University of PA Culinary Arts Baking and Pastry Program Punxsutawney Campus Friday, March 27, 2015 (Dessert buffet will be provided.) Depart Sears, Cranberry Mall - 8:00am Depart JC Penney, Clarion Mall - 8:45am Return JC Penney, Clarion Mall - 1:45pm Return Sears, Cranberry Mall - 2:15pm IUP s culinary arts program is recognized nationwide for its quality world-class chef instructors, and their job placement rates are among the best in the nation. Among its graduates is Lindsay McClain (2007), winner of Food Network s Chopped. Culinary students attend computer, business, and math classes in the Living and Learning Center on the Punxsutawney campus. This facility includes multimedia classrooms, a library, a bookstore, a fitness center, and a dining facility. Suite-style on-campus living is available in the Living Center for forty culinary students. Culinary majors take kitchen lab classes in the 13,000-square-foot academy building dedicated to first-year culinary education. The facility includes four kitchen laboratories, a demonstration kitchen, and a summer dining room. A signed permission form (included with this flier) AND pre-registration are required.
