2 Downloading Data via FTP 1/3 Following successful registration (see Registration section) and implementation of Subscription or Data Ordering (see Subscription and Data Ordering), Copernicus users can download the relevant EO data from the Coordinated Data Access System Online Data Archive via FTP, using their Single Sign On (SSO) account. The applicable protocol is the FTPS (FTP Secure) and requires specific settings in your FTP client and requires traffic on specific ports (990 and range ) to be opened by your network manager. The two most common FTP clients settings are shown in these slides, for further information contact the Services Coordinated Interface (SCI) Team at All Operating Systems: FileZilla Site manager settings 2

Downloading Data via FTP 3/3 After successful log in to the FTP, the following directories will be available: Datasets/ All subscribed CORE datasets and ADDitional standard (non-emergency) datasets

4 Downloading Data via FTP 3/3 After successful log in to the FTP, the following directories will be available: Datasets/ All subscribed CORE datasets and ADDitional standard (non-emergency) datasets are available within this directory Emergency/ All subscribed ADDitional rush (emergency) datasets are available within this directory EmergencyByCallID/ Data from all subscribed ADDitional rush (emergency) datasets is available within this directory, divided by activation ID For further information on how to subscribe a dataset, view 4

5 Copernicus Client EOLiSA/GCL As an alternative to FTP access and for smaller volumes of data download, Copernicus users can access the Copernicus Client (EOLiSA/GCL), using their Single Sign On (SSO) account. The Copernicus Client can be used for CDS and Copernicus Contributing Missions catalogue browsing as well: this functionality is open and does not require a valid SSO account. Download and install EOLi SA from Open EOLi SA and click on the Copernicus User green button at the left top corner. This will allow you to use the GCL (Copernicus CLient) Updates can be run from the App menu ( Check for updates 5

6 Querying the Copernicus Client 1/2 Select the relevant collection(s) to be searched: - All datasets from a specific CSCDA phase (Grant, DWH phase 1, DWH phase 2) - One or more datasets, organised per CSCDA phase - Grant datasets, organized by sensor type (SAR, OPTICAL) and EMERGENCY activations - DWH phase 1 datasets, organized by dataset type (CORE for predefined coverages and ADDITIONAL for on demand, both standard and rush) - DWH phase 2 datasets, organized as for DWH phase 1 - Data organised by Missions, where data stored in CDS are organized by mission/sensor/product type - Data organised by resolution class, 12 classes are defined - CCMs catalogue, that show data stored on the CCMs side (only browsing allowed, no download) NOTE: maximum 30 collections can be selected at once 6

7 Querying the Copernicus Client 2/2 After selecting the relevant collection(s), User shall select the following query parameters: - Date - Area of interest(you can insert coordinates, draw the area on the map, load a AOI file or look for the area by name) NOTE: No date/no area allows to retrieve ALL data delivered over a dataset - In advanced query mode, a specific data status can also be selected When all parameters are set, hit the Search Catalogue button Once the search is completed, one or more entries can be selected in the search results window to view one or more collections/groups of items (max. 100 in a group). 7

8 Product Details Further product details can be obtained by double clicking on the relevant record line 8

9 Downloading from the Copernicus Client 1/2 Once product to be downloaded has been identified, click on Get in the Action column User is now prompted with details on where to download the product on personal PC. Choose the path and then click on Download product. User is prompted to insert his/her SSO username/password These are the same as used in the Copernicus User s Personal Area. More details about the registration procedure are available at r-tools-guidelines 9

10 Downloading from the Copernicus Client 2/2 The status of the download can be checked in the Downloads tab: Downloads are possible only from subscribed datasets. More details about the subscription procedure are available at 10

The CCMs Catalogues in the Copernicus Client The same actions described in the previous slides can be performed on the collections organized by contribution mission.

11 The CCMs Catalogues in the Copernicus Client The same actions described in the previous slides can be performed on the collections organized by contribution mission. Searches can be performed down to the product type level. The Contributing Missions native catalogues are visible thanks to the HMA implementation. CCMEs who have completed successfully the development are configured and Copernicus Users may view the content of the catalogues to plan their work. The available collections have been defined by the CCMEs. Orders for products of interest have to be sent to the SCI via the ordering interface (justifying the mission selection). 11
