3 David Byron Managing Director BCHW Global Limited David Bryon started his career as a Mechanical Engineer working for Imperial Chemical Industries. His first commercial position was as a mechanical quantity surveyor working on the design and construction of jackets for North Sea oil and gas platforms. He then worked as a Senior Quantity Surveyor for Aramco in Saudi Arabia on various onshore and offshore oil and gas projects. Upon returning from Saudi Arabia he worked as a Senior Quantity Surveyor on the construction of North Sea offshore oil production facilities. Simon Sloane Partner ReedSmith Simon specialises in international arbitration and commercial dispute resolution, with particular expertise in the sectors of hotel & leisure, (re)insurance, mining, construction and upstream oil & gas (offshore energy). He has worked on some of the largest and most complex business interruption insurance recovery claims and is recognised for his depth of knowledge of supply chain exposure, "wide area damage" and "loss of attraction" issues. He has been based in Singapore since 2006 and has direct experience of advising clients on their business issues in all the ASEAN countries. Before moving to Asia, Simon worked in private practice in London. He has direct e:xperience of the insurance industry, gained during long-term secondments as in-house counsel in both the United States and the UK. 4 Barry Stimpson Partner ReedSmith Barry has more than 20 years' experience handling shipping, international trade, offshore energy and construction matters. He has been based in the Far East since 1999 and has worked in London, Hong Kong, Singapore and Sydney. He was a founding partner of Reed Smith's Singapore office when it was established in Barry's practice covers both advisory and disputes work in the shipping, commodities, upstream oil and gas (offshore energy), construction, mining, insurance and telecommunications sectors. He has been recognised for his work in the shipping, commodities and offshore energy sectors by the major legal directories and is ranked as one of the leading shipping lawyers in Singapore.
