18 GCSE English 2015 Onwards Studies also show that reading a variety of literature independently by the age of 15 is the single biggest indicator of future success. In the English Literature examination the students WILL NOT have copies of the texts with them. They need to learn quotations and know the texts well enough to answer any question without relying on the text itself.

37 It may not always be possible to find contacts or a suitable placement so please ask your sons and daughters to visit Mrs Ferneyhough or Miss Webb during lunchtime drop ins in the Careers Library if they need help. Please collect a self placement form from the front at the end of this evening, page 1 is to leave with the employer. Page 2 is to be returned to school by November 27 th Please hand in to Student Services. We highly recommend that placements are sourced independently by students. So that they get places they are interested in and so that employers can see the students interest before the placement.
38 Talk to family and friends about possible self placements. Talk to Mrs Ferneyhough or Miss Webb about previous placements during drop in sessions at lunchtime in the Careers Library (old Sixth Form centre.) Meet the employer and leave page 1 of the form with them. Return page 2 complete on both sides to Mrs Ferneyhough or Miss Webb. Students will complete a preparation session in a Student Development day in June. Communication if we hear from an employer about a problem we will inform you, if you hear the placement can t go ahead please let us know ASAP so that we can help find an alternative. Placements take place between 11 th 15 th July 2015 Teachers will visit you at your placements. Appraisals - how did you get on??
