14 The EJOT STR principle Your guarantee Our STR principle For long-lasting beautiful facades With its STR principle, EJOT has developed a unique fastening system. Without any additional work, the anchor plates are installed countersunk and covered with an insulation cap. This creates a homogenous surface and an even rendering, and helps to avoid anchor marks. For all substrates The ejotherm STR U is the first 8 mm ETICS anchor with European approval for all building materials, including gas concrete (use categories A - E). For fastenings on wooden materials we provide ejotherm STR H. Both anchors are installed with the same ejotherm STR tool. The bearing load of the system is carried onto the facade via shearing forces. High-quality plate anchors installed through the insulation guarantee additional contact pressure through their stiff plates. This contact pressure supports the permanent frictional bonding between adhesive and substructure. 22 EJOT additional plates Additional plates The plate diameter is enlarged through specially matched additional plates. In this way the EJOT plate anchor is perfectly fitted to the demands of different insulation materials. Which additional plates are used in a specific case, depends on the specifications of the ETIC system owner. 23 ejotherm anchors for rail fastenings ejotherm anchors for rail-fixed ETICS A special kind of External Thermal Insulation Composite Systems is the mechanical fixing of the insulation boards with the help of holding rails. These systems are preferably used on old facades with large tolerances (unevenness of the old render) or significantly damaged old render (lose parts, partially missing old render). Holding rails of plastic or aluminium are directly fastened on the substrate with special collar head anchors. Our spacers EJOT AS balance tolerances and bridge missing parts. Simply clip the chosen thickness onto the anchor between wall and holding rail ready! System-specific insulation boards are put into the profiles of holding rails through incorporated grooves. For additional anchoring of the insulation in the centre of the board, we recommend our cap anchor ejotherm STR U (see page 16). For problematic substrates we offer our special anchor EJOT SDF-K plus 8 U (page 31). 23
