Students will play rhythm games, do finger exercises & learn to read notes while they develop the dexterity required for the keyboard. Students are required to purchase a music book & should have a piano/keyboard at home to practice on. Title: Piano lessons Date: days & times vary- 30 min sessions year round Age Group: 6-18 years old Location: High Chaparral Youth Center Description: Group instruction for piano where students will learn basic sight reading, counting, & ear training. Rhythm exercises & music theory will be explored. Students will be contacted by the instructor for lesson placement. Students may be moved to a different time/day as they advance as determined by the instructor. Students are required to purchase a music book & should have a piano/keyboard at home to practice on. Title: Guitar lessons Age Group: 8-18 years old Location: High Chaparral Youth Center Date: Mondays Beginner, Tuesday-Intermediate, Friday-Advanced year round Cost: $53 per month Description: Group guitar instruction. Students will learn the parts of the guitar, basic sight reading, ear training, dexterity, scales & basic theory. Students are required to purchase a music book & must provide their own guitar. Title: Family Musik Time Date: Wednesdays year round Age Group: 6 months 4 years old Cost: $47 first child, $13 second child, third child free! Location: Clear Creek CDC Description: Family Musik Time will help parents foster a bond with their children that will last a lifetime! Both parents & up to 3 siblings may participate. The entire family will be engaged in music, movement, story time & family interaction with age appropriate activities provided for children from 6 months to 5 years old. There is a significant link between early music instruction & cognitive growth in areas such as math, memory, & pattern-recognition skills. Vocabulary, comprehension, listening & expression skills are reinforced by the stories & activities presented. School of Sports, Fitness & Health Title: Tae Kwon Do Date: Tuesdays & Thursdays Sep-Jun Times: Beginners Intermediate I Intermediate II Age Group: 6-18 years old Advanced Cost: $45 per month Description: Students will be introduced to the fun & discipline of Tae Kwon Do with stances, kicks & strikes! Tae Kwon Do increases confidence, physical fitness, self-respect & assertiveness. Students will advance as they earn their belts. Students are guaranteed 6 sessions per month. New students can wear loose fitting pants/sweats until a uniform is purchased. A uniform is required for students to earn promotion to the next rank. Uniforms may be purchased from the instructor for $25.

Age appropriate equipment is used to promote confidence & fun! Children will gain confidence as they run, bounce, tumble, crawl & leap through our obstacle course designed for gross motor development. Child must be able to walk. Title: Preschool Gymnastics Date: Tuesdays or Thursdays Sep-Jun Age Group: 3-4 years old Cost: $50 per month Description: Children will learn basic tumbling skills & develop coordination using age appropriate equipment. Students will improve flexibility, strength & balance. Children should wear comfortable clothing. Title: Gymnastics-Beginner girls Date: Tuesdays or Saturdays Sep-Jun Cost: $50 per month Description: Each student will work at her own pace as the basic tumbling & gymnastics skills are taught along with coordination, stretching, strength, flexibility & balance. Learn tumbling along with the balance beam, uneven bars & other apparatus. Students are encouraged to wear a leotard & gym shorts. Only socks or bare feet allowed on the mats. Title: Gymnastics-Intermediate girls Date: Wednesdays Sep-Jun Cost: $50 per month Description: Intermediate students focus on conditioning & muscle control while building confidence & coordination. Each child will work at their own pace as their advance their basic skills mastery. Students are encouraged to wear a leotard & gym shorts. Only socks or bare feet allowed on the mats. Title: Gymnastics-Male Date: Mondays Sep-Jun Cost: $50 per month Description: Each student will work at his own pace as the basic tumbling & gymnastics skills are taught along with coordination, stretching, strength, flexibility & balance. Learn tumbling along with the parallel bars, uneven bars & other apparatus. Children should wear comfortable clothing. Only socks or bare feet allowed on the mats. Title: Start Smart-General Sports Date: Saturdays (6 weeks) or Tuesdays & Thursdays (3 weeks) Location: High Chaparral Youth Center AM, to be announced PM Cost: $63 per session Description: This parent & child activity gives an introduction to general sports knowledge. Children will learn throwing, catching, kicking & batting. Children prepare for organized youth sports by developing basic motor skills with safe, age-appropriate equipment. Title: Start Smart-individual sports (sport varies each session) Date: Saturdays (6 weeks) or Tuesdays & Thursdays (3 weeks) Location: High Chaparral Youth Center AM, to be announced PM Cost: $63 per session Description: This parent & child activity gives an introduction to the rules for individual sports such as baseball, soccer, football or basketball. Sport varies each session. Children prepare for organized youth sports by developing basic motor skills with safe, age-appropriate equipment. Title: First Tee Golf Date: Beginners-Tuesdays, Advanced-Wednesdays or (10 week sessions) Location: Wellness Center on the Resiliency Campus Cost: FREE! Description: First Tee Golf introduces the game of golf & its values. Fun, integrated golf & life lessons help children discover how skills essential to success on the golf course can help them succeed in everyday life. Age appropriate equipment is provided. Title: Swimming lessons - levels 1-6 Date: Monday & Wednesday or Tuesday & Thursday or Saturdays between (8 sessions) Sep-May Location: Abrams Pool Cost: $42 per sessions Description: Red Cross Certification Swim classes ranging from level 1-6 in skill. This classroom only course teaches students to be aware of their surroundings & be prepared to react to roadway situations. This state regulated course provides a certificate of completion that most insurance companies will honor for a discounted rate. Bring a sack lunch. Title: Scuba Seal Team Date: 3 Saturdays in a row, once a quarter Age Group: 8-18 years old Cost: $158 a session Location: Abrams Pool Description: Learn to dive in a safe & secure environment with the PADI Certified Instructors of C&J Divers. In this exciting course students will do Aqua Missions, learn buoyancy control, mask clearing, regulator recovery & more. All equipment is provided. Title: Modeling Date: Thursdays year round Age Group: 5-10 years old Cost: $42 Description: Learn make up, poise, posture, stance, movement, runway walking & turns. It consists of classes designed to complement & support the experiences children & youth have in Army CYS Services & in schools. Instructional programs teach children discipline, problem solving, decision making, conflict resolution, game rules, & social etiquette as well as subject matter content.
