2 dieťaťa, 40, 2005, č. 1, s. 1-16, TVORIVOSŤ DIEVČAT/ŽIEN A CHLAPCOV/MUŽOV V ŠIRŠÍCH SÚVISLOSTIACH EVA SZOBIOVÁ Katedra psychológie UK, Bratislava CREATIVITY OF GIRLS/WOMEN AND BOYS/MEN IN WIDER CONTEXTS Abstract: The study is focused on the specifics of boys' and girls' creative manifestations, i.e. pertaining to men and women, and its center of attention maps their differences from the aspect of creativity. It deals with a variety of requirements imposed on girls and boys already from childhood from the aspect of social stereotypes and norms, as well as differences in biological factors. It presents an overview of researches on creative abilities of girls and boys, i.e. of men and women with contradictory results. In its own research, it compares the intellectual and creative abilities of 546 adolescents - applicants for university study of artistic-technical orientation (307 men and 239 women). The results of men and women in the indicators of fluency, flexibility, and originality in the Torrance Creative Thinking Test did not differ; noticeably insignificantly higher performance was observed in men in the Urban Test. In the Viennese Matrix Test, a surprising difference turned out in favor of women in their ability to deal with abstract symbols. Comparison of the results of the most original 46 men and 46 women from the above-mentioned sample showed significant differences only in 3 of 14 indicators of the Urban Creative Thinking Test. Key words: intellectual abilities, differences between men and women, personality attributes, creativity
3 dieťaťa, 40, 2005, č. 1, s ŠTÝLY RODINNEJ VÝCHOVY A RIZIKOVÉ SPRÁVANIE DIEVČAT A CHLAPCOV V OBDOBÍ PUBERTY MARCELA VEREŠOVÁ, JANKA HUŠVÉTYOVÁ Katedra psychologických vied, Fakulta sociálnych vied, Univerzita Konštantína Filozofa, Nitra Centrum výchovnej a psychologickej prevencie s krízovým oddelením, Šaľa STYLES OF FAMILY EDUCATION AND RISK BEHAVIOR OF GIRLS AND BOYS IN PUBESCENCE Abstract: The study presents results of the research of parents' educational styles (as perceived by child) and their relationship to behavior of child in the school environment (evaluated by the teacher). The fact is that pubescents perceive their parents to be very hostile and inconsistent. These educational styles influence risk behavior of girls. Key words: style of family education, directiveness, hostility, inconsistence, educationally problem behavior, risk behavior
4 dieťaťa, 40, 2005, č. 1, s RODOVÁ PŘESVĚDČENÍ A RODOVÉ ASPEKTY SEBEPOJETÍ ADOLESCENTNÍCH DÍVEK A CHLAPCŮ Příspěvek k výzkumu rodových norem KATEŘINA ZÁBRODSKÁ, MAREK BLATNÝ Katedra psychologie FFMJJ, Brno Psychologický ústav AV ČR, Brno GENDER BELIEFS AND GENDER ASPECTS OF SELF-CONCEPTION IN ADOLESCENT GIRLS AND BOYS Abstract: The text is focused on the research of significances of feminity and masculinity of adolescent girls and boys with goal to assess any occasional change in understanding of genderness, especially in the area of gender beliefs, actual Self, and required Self. The results of the study testify about the persisting gender differentiation and about the existence of gender norms in the area of general gender beliefs in harmony with traditional beliefs on feminity and masculinity. However, the gender differentiation in assessment of the actual and required Self is remarkably lower, and primarily the attributes required by girls contain almost balanced feminine and masculine characteristics. The gathered data testify about the shift toward higher desirability of masculine characteristics both in boys and in girls, and about wiping off the gender differences in personally relevant assessment in contradiction to their continuation in the assessment of general gender beliefs and norms. Discussion takes place in relation to possible consequences of continuation or change of gender beliefs, particularly in relation to life satisfaction and self-esteem. Key words: feminity, masculinity, gender belief, actual Self, required Self

The authors used nine basic contextual factors that were pointed out in the work by Barbara Wilson and her coworkers: victim's nature, perpetrator's nature, causes of violence, used weapons, realism, extensiveness, rewards and punishments, consequences of violence, and humor. These factors can lead to learned aggressiveness, fear, and desensitization. The authors tried to carry out the content analysis of contextual factors of two TV program shots - one from the animated serial story entitled Tom and Jerry, and the other one from the film entitled Secret Agent Jack T. Key words: TV (medial) violence, dynamic-interaction model, contextual factors, content analysis, learned aggressiveness, fear, desensitization
