1 Thomas and Company is an established commercial law firm offering quality legal services to local and overseas clients. Over the years, Thomas and Company has established a network of contacts in Sydney and in other Australian capital cities in key sectors of law, accounting, business and industry. Our firm has access to an international network of law and accounting firms through its membership of InterContinental Consultants based in London. Thomas and Company traces its origins back to the firm of Deane, Haselhurst & Howard which was founded in 1897 by Charles Marmaduke Deane. When Arthur Haselhurst became a partner in 1916 the firm's name changed to C.Marmaduke Deane & Haselhurst and in 1925 when Francis Eric Howard joined the partnership the firm became known as Deane, Haselhurst & Howard. In 1978 the firms of Deane, Haselhurst & Howard and W B Thomas and Company merged to form one entity. In 1996 the firm's name was changed to its present name of Thomas and Company.

2 The principal, Mr W Beach Thomas, was admitted as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of New South Wales in 1968 after graduating with the degrees of Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws from the University of Sydney. In 1971 he became a partner in a small Sydney law firm and in 1974 was admitted to the degree of Master of Laws at the University of Sydney, majoring in revenue law and restrictive trade practices law. In 1977 he was made a Fellow of the Taxation Institute of Australia and in the same year established his own firm of W B Thomas and Company in the central business district of Sydney. In 1993 Beach Thomas was accredited by the Law Society of New South Wales as a specialist in Business Law and in 1995 he was appointed a Notary Public in and for the State of New South Wales. For over 30 years Beach Thomas has provided advice to corporate and private clients in Sydney and throughout Australia. Beach Thomas' experience includes representing and advising:- A major Australian business college for over 10 years in all facets of its business compliance requirements and governance. Apart from the principal, the firm has two lawyers experienced in litigation and commercial matters to enable the firm to meet the needs of its clients.
