3 Report of Student Learning and Achievement Institution Name of your Academic Business Unit For Academic Year: Mission of the Business Administration Division The mission of the Division of Business Administration is to provide students with broad-based practical knowledge of the functional areas of business, combined with a solid foundation in a specified business area, that will permit them to obtain professional opportunities, and/or will foster their ability to advance in their careers as leaders and decision-makers within the domestic and global business environments where they are employed. In addition, the goal of the Division is to instill within students a sense of integrity and ethics that will permit them to take into consideration the various stakeholders whom their decisions will impact. Student Learning Assessment for the MBA Program MBA Program Outcomes (Program ISLOs) 1. Students will demonstrate critical and systematic thinking in organizational problem solving and decision making 2. Students will demonstrate competence in: critically analyzing business scenarios, conducting business research, and communicating effectively 3. Students will examine the leadership perspective and the ethical dimension in various organization settings and situations 4. Students will examine the role of technology in organizational change, innovation and process improvement 5. Students will integrate knowledge, theories, models and practices from all the functional areas of business in order to analyze and solve problems, or realize opportunities Outcomes: General Management Concentration 1. Students will apply various theories, concepts and practices within the general management disciple in resolving business issues 2. Students will critique an issue or topic in business, formulate a position and defend the position which also illustrates an in-depth understanding of the business issue or topic 3. Students will formulate a business plan illustrating the perspectives of various stakeholders and its interrelationship to various industry and economic trends and issues Outcomes: Accounting Concentration 1. 4 2. Students will critique an issue or topic in accounting, formulate a position and defend the position which also illustrates an in-depth understanding of the accounting issue or topic 3. Students will formulate a business plan illustrating the perspectives of various stakeholders and demonstrating advanced financial analysis techniques Outcomes: Health Care Management Concentration 1. Students will apply various theories, concepts and practices within the health care disciple in resolving business issues 2. Students will critique an issue or topic in health care, formulate a position and defend the position which also illustrates an in-depth understanding of the accounting issue or topic 3. Students will formulate a business plan illustrating the perspectives of various stakeholders and its interrelationship to various trends and isues within the health care industry Assessment Instruments for Outcomes Direct Measures of Student Learning: Performance Objectives (Targets/Criteria) for Direct Measures: All scoring rubrics for the 3 direct measures use a 4-point scale of: 4 = Outstanding; 3 = Acceptable; 2 = Substandard; 1 = Unacceptable 1.
