1 ASSURANCES By the end of Spanish 1A Regular, the student will: 1. Students will master vocabulary for the following themes school: supplies/subjects greetings countries descriptions of people numbers 0-30, days, dates pastimes chores 2. Students will master the following grammar: hay subject pronouns ser and estar negative sentences gender and number prepositions por and de irregular verbs: tener, ir adjective agreement ir a and tener que contractions 3. Students will be able to pronounce and spell all the words and expressions they learn. 4. Students will be able to read for comprehension simple passages Using learned vocabulary and structures. Identifying cognates. Using context clues and background information. 5. Students will be able to apply the writing process plan gather ideas through brainstorming draft peer edit revise two compositions (description of someone and a letter to a pen pal) 6.
