1 STRATEGI BISNIS ECERAN (STUDI KASUS DI YOGYAKARTA) R. Maryatmo (Dosen Tetap Jurusan Ekonomi Pembangunan Fakultas Ekonomi Universitas Atma Jaya Yogjakarta) It is believed that the competition among small retail businesses and between small and bigger retail business are very tight Some studies show that some small retail businesses could survive among those competition, even evidence show that some of them could go internationally. This research is dedicated to explore factors which determine the ability of small scale businesses to survive and to compete internationally. This research revealed that competition among small scale retail businesses in Yogjakarta is very high. Majority (49%) of the business sell the similar product. The density of the business is about 3 or 4 unit similar business in one km square area. The tighness of the competition is also indicated by the high rate of entry and exit. Most of the owner (92%) are the foundation of the businesses and only 8% of the owner are the second generation owner. Since the competition is very high, the business developes their strategy to survive and to compete internationally. The strength of the survival of the businesses is relied on the location, product choices, and services for the customer. 2 ANALISIS FAKTOR-FAKTOR YANG BERPENGARUH TERHADAP PENGGUNAAN INFORMASI KINERJA DALAM PENGANGGARAN Santi Windayani (Staf Bappeda Bidang Sekretariat Kabupaten Sleman) The aim of this study is to examine the influences of information system limitation, difficulties to determine performance measures, authority in decision making, training, and legislative support on the utilization of performance information in the budgeting process. The study is conducted in local government of Sleman Regency. The respondents of study consisted of the local government officials that are involved and responsible in the local budgeting process and local legislative council (DPRD). The instrument for collecting data is questioner. The obtained from this study are analyzed with multiple regression analysis. The result of study indicated that the training and the legislative support have a significant positive influence, statistically, on the utilization of performance information in the budgeting process. The information system limitation and the difficulties to determine performance information don t have a significant negative influence, statistically, on the utilization of performance information in the budgeting process. The authority of decision making doesn t have a significant positive influence, statistically, on the utilization of performance in the budgeting process. 3 PENGARUH PROACTIVE PERSONALITY PADA IN-ROLE DAN EXTRA-ROLE PERFORMANCE (KASUS PADA SEBUAH PERGURUAN TINGGI DI YOGYAKARTA) Wisnu Prajogo (Dosen Tetap Jurusan Manajemen STIE YKPN Yogyakarta) The dispositional approach in behavioral research proposes that each person possesses his/her own disposition (relatively stable internal personal characteristics) that will influence his/her behavior. The most stable disposition is personality. This research explores the influence of individual proactive personality to his/her performance measured by in-role performance and extra-role performance. The results give strong support for the positive influence of individual proactive personality to his/her in-role and extra-role performance. 4 PENGARUH PARTISIPASI PENYUSUNAN ANGGARAN TERHADAP KINERJA APARAT PEMERINTAH DAERAH: BUDAYA DAN KOMITMEN ORGANISASI SEBAGAI VARIABEL MODERATING Bambang Sardjito dan Osmad Muthaher (Dosen Tetap Jurusan Akuntansi Fakultas Ekonomi Universitas Islam Sultan Agung, Semarang) The research explain the effect of budget participation toward managerial performance both on directly and non directly, by examining organizational culture (people oriented and job oriented) and commitment organizational with serves as moderating variables. The research samples are selected by using census method were 150 manager in the special district of Semarang. The data were collected at questionare a cross mail survey. The test of contingency variables (organizational culture and commitment organizational) by using interaction approach. The result of the research were consistence with proxy research, which showed that budget participation had direct effect on managerial performance. Furthermore, the findings supported the research hypothesis that the higher degree of fit between budget partipation and the organizational culture people oriented the higher managerial performance. Other results of this research found that commitment organizational moderate the effect of budget participation toward managerial performance. 5 PROSPEK PENGEMBANGAN INDUSTRI KOMPONEN DAN PERAKITAN OTOMOTIF DI KABUPATEN SLEMAN Achmad Raharjo (Staf Bappeda Bidang Ekonomi Kabupaten Sleman) As stated in macroeconomic theory, investment is main factor to accelerate regional economic development and its would be leverage benefits optionally based on main resource of the area such as human, natural and technology sources. In 10 years, structural economic of Sleman regency has shifted from primary sector (agriculture) to tertier sector (services). It implies that Sleman has developed in term of economic structure. Meanwhile, secondary sector that mainly consist of industries has sligthly tend to become dominate as economic locomotive in Sleman. In term of industrial sector in Sleman, otomotif component and assembling industries should become prosperius industry according to highly demand of motocycle in Yogyakarta Province. This paper shows how otomotif component and assembling industries in Sleman would be new economic booster in Sleman. Keywords: otomotif component, assembling industries

6 PEMERATAAN KEPEMILIKAN SAHAM DAN KEADILAN: KEBIJAKAN PEMECAHAN SAHAM Sri Fatmawati (Dosen Tetap Jurusan Ekonomi Pembangunan STIE YKPN Yogyakarta) It s believed that stocks had many people will improve the distribution of people income. But the problem is whether the distribution of stock ownership is symbol of justice or not. Researchers say that capital market is not a good way to have justice for people s income. It is widely believed that stock splits are purely cosmetic, since the corporation s cash flows are unaffected, each shareholder retains his proportionate ownership and the claims of other classes of security holders are unaltered. Although stock splits appear to be purely cosmetic changes, research shows real effects associated with them. Despite extensive study, controversies include whether stock splits affect shareholder wealth, change a stock risk, improve liquidity, and provide signals to the market. The objective of this research is to verify empirically that stock splits relate those real effects especially stock liquidity. This research examines eighty six companies which did stock split in Jakarta Stock Exchange during Januari 1999 to Desember A paired difference test is used to test a hypotesis about the difference between two population means for trading volume (liquidity). Overall, the results of this research indicate that there are not significant differences among trading volume for before and after the listing date.
