16 6th Grade Introduction to Engineering All SMS 6th graders have a 22 day experience as part of their exploration rotation.
17 Introduction to the Engineering Design Process 3D Computer Modeling/ 3D Printing
18 7th Grade Design and Modeling 7th grade students that choose rotation instead of music take Design and Modeling for 9 weeks. Music students have the opportunity to take Design and Modeling before school (8-9am) during the 4th grading period.
19 Students apply the design process and use creativity to solve design problems.
20 8th Grade Automation and Robotics 8th grade students that choose rotation instead of music receive Automation and Robotics for 9 weeks. Music students have the opportunity to take the course before school from 8-9am during the second grading period.
21 Students learn about various mechanisms and use them to solve problems. Students learn basic programming in RobotC and apply it to automate their mechanisms.
