2 2016 Sponsorship opportunities 2016 will see a focused Middlesbrough Christmas marketing campaign and events programme to celebrate the holiday season and town centre offer, you and your company can be part of Middlesbrough s Enchanting Christmas programme. Middlesbrough Christmas 2016: Friday 25 th November Friday 23 rd December Attendance Goal: 100,000 visitors Demographic: Families from all of Middlesbrough, Teesside and beyond Couples Single adults (after work crowd) Sponsorship Opportunities Reindeer Parade Headline Sponsor 5,000 + VAT The Middlesbrough Reindeer Parade is an ideal way to show your support and reach out to families in a vibrant event that is a firm favourite in the Middlesbrough calendar. The reindeer Parade works with a minimum of 250 young people and community members in the creation of the amazing costumes and structures and reaches audiences of upto 40,000. Sponsorship level to include being a headline sponsor for the Reindeer Parade on Sunday 27th November and the following benefits: The Reindeer Parade to be branded with the named Sponsor. Parade marching spaces reserved for the sponsors. [Sponsors to provide their own supporting materials e.g. banners, etc.] Opportunity to have a promotional presence at the Reindeer Parade 1

3 event [e.g. merchandise giveaways; Note: Any giveaways must be approved in advance.] Opportunity for a stall to be reserved at the Food and Craft Market at the Reindeer Parade event on Sunday 27th November. Christmas Lights Switch On Main Stage time opportunity to be coordinated with stage show programmers Reindeer Parade including but not limited to: An advert in print in the Christmas leaflet (Minimum 20K copies distributed across Tees Valley and North Yorkshire) Artwork to be supplied by sponsor. Christmas Lights Switch On Main Stage Headline Sponsor 5,000 +VAT 2 The Middlesbrough Christmas Lights Switch On is the largest Christmas event in Tees Valley, with audiences over 15,000 30,000 people. With an event jam packed with activity from the main stage to Christmas markets, highlight performances and more, it is an ideal way to show your support and reach out to families in a vibrant event that is a firm favourite in the Middlesbrough calendar.

Middlesbrough Town Centre Christmas Markets Sponsorship 3,000 + VAT As the excitement for Christmas builds, Middlesbrough Christmas Markets will provide shoppers with the opportunity to sample a vast range of Christmas delights over a three week period. Ranging from hot food, roast chestnuts, sweet treats and festive arts and crafts. Middlesbrough Shoppers are sure to love all aspects of the Christmas market experience. 5 Christmas Markets including but not limited to: 4. Reindeer Pen Sponsor no longer available, Official sponsor confirmed Reindeer are one of the special symbols of Christmas time. Reach out to families during the magical time they spend with the Cairngorm Reindeer near the Town Hall. Sponsorship level to support the Reindeer pen on Sunday 27th November includes the following benefits: The Reindeer Pen to be branded with the named Sponsor Opportunity to have a promotional presence at the Reindeer Parade event [e.g. merchandise giveaways; Note: Any giveaways must be approved in advance.] Reindeer Pen including but not limited to: 4 5. Big Sing and Willow Lantern Garden sponsor VAT The Big sing will feature MTH Community Choir (100 strong choir) and local school choirs and band who will form the singing extravaganza.

6 Vocalists from across the Tees Valley will get the crowd into the festive spirit with a variety of Christmas favourites from Christmas classics, Christmas big hits and a host of sing-a-long of Christmas songs and carols. This enchanting event site will be brought to life with a host of beautiful willow lanterns and structures, creating a wonderful Christmas atmosphere most musically and visually. Local school groups, artists and individuals will have the opportunity to create pieces for the willow lantern garden. Sponsorship level to support The Big Sing on Sunday 18 th December includes the following benefits: The Main structure in Centre Square to be branded with the named Sponsor (Promotional materials e.g. Banner/Flags for the stage to be supplied by sponsor) Opportunity to have a promotional presence at the Big Sing and willow lantern garden [e.g. merchandise giveaways; Note: Any giveaways must be approved in advance.] Opportunity for a stall to be reserved at the event on Sunday 18 th December Big Sing including but not limited to: A small advert in print in the Christmas leaflet (Minimum 20K copies distributed across Tees Valley and North Yorkshire) Artwork to be supplied by sponsor. Specifications TBC. 6. Christmas on the Big Screen Sponsorship 2500+VAT A week long programme of festive movies on the big screen. Providing a magical outdoor movie experience in the heart of the Town Centre. The movie programme will be enhanced with the addition of the Santa s grotto and Elves workshop (Gazebo with Christmas themed activity e.g Making reindeer food, hot chocolate cones, bauble decoration, Santa letter writing etc). Walk around characters and we would also aim to have a variety of food and refreshment options available. 5

7 Sponsorship level to support the Christmas on the big screen 19 th 23 rd December includes the following benefits: The big screen in Centre Square to be branded with the named Sponsor (Promotional materials e.g. Banner/Flags for the stage to be supplied by sponsor) Opportunity to have a promotional presence at the event [e.g. merchandise giveaways; Note: Any giveaways must be approved in advance.] Sponsor logo and mention to be included in all printed and online materials referencing Christmas on the Big Screen including but not limited to: A small advert in print in the Christmas leaflet (Minimum 20K copies distributed across Tees Valley and North Yorkshire) Artwork to be supplied by sponsor. Specifications TBC. 7. Santa s Grotto - Sponsorship 1,500 +VAT Santa s Grotto will be a specialist portable handcrafted Christmas attraction, design especially for the town. The Grotto will be an added value experience alongside popular events and activities. The Grotto experience will aim to reach a very high quality, with personalized touches, the special reindeer parade Santa, and special meets and greets with the likes of frost the snowman and rocking robin. 6 Sponsorship level to support the Grotto includes the following benefits: The Grotto will have a sign included in the site décor with the named Sponsor (Promotional materials e.g. Banner/Flags for the stage to be supplied by sponsor) Opportunity to have a promotional presence at the event [e.g. merchandise giveaways; Note: Any giveaways must be approved in advance.] Grotto including but not limited to:

8 Spot prize sponsorship This year we are keen to team up with local businesses to offer shoppers and Christmas events audiences an extra special treat! Spot prizes will be given away at Christmas events. We are asking participating local businesses to offer a variety of spot prizes that could be won, which can be offered to audiences in the following ways: Santa s Grotto Five Golden tickets (in Willy Wonka fashion!) for Santa s grotto will feature an extra special gift for a child which will be donated by a local business. Suggested Prize value Event Spot Prizes At certain events the Marketing Team (or Media partner PR Staff) will tap people on the shoulder at random and give them a spot prize of between 5 and 50 which has been donated by local businesses. Data Capture Forms Given out at events and available online with a chance to win a prize of 100 to spend in the January Sales! If your business donates a prize, here is what you will receive: Each winner will be photographed (*consent permitting), their photo will be uploaded onto Middlesbrough Council s Social media feeds alongside a line of copy highlighting a current promotion your business is running.
