1 BASIX for single dwelling Data input checklist This checklist is a guide to the information you will need to have at hand, in order to complete a BASIX assessment. Not every item on this list may apply to you - it will depend on your house design. For example, if you are not intending to install a stormwater tank, ignore this section. Similarly, if you do not have a private dam on your property, this section is irrelevant to you. Select the option that is most convenient for you. OPTION 1: Rapid This option is a shorter version of the D.I.Y. option, but can only be used for simple, detached dwellings that meet the criteria listed below. Criteria Based on the climate zone your dwelling is in, BASIX will display a list of criteria. If your dwelling complies with the conditions, click '' on the page, enter the glazing area (in m²) and you will Pass Thermal Comfort. The following is an example of the list of criteria. Please note that the list will vary based on the climate zone your dwelling is in. the dwelling is a single storey dwelling; the dwelling has a slab on ground floor or, if the floor is suspended, the floor has insulation with an R-value of at least R**; walls are brick veneer, weatherboard or fibre cement; walls have insulation with an R-value of at least R**; all windows and glazed doors have eaves that project at least ** millimetres (including gutter width); eaves are no more than 500 millimetres above window or glazed door heads; ceilings have insulation with an R-value of at least R**; the roof has sarking or two wind-driven ventilators with eave and/or roof vents; the total window and glazed door area is no more than ** square metres; Enter total window/glazed door area ** Values will be calculated by BASIX OPTION 2: Do-It-Yourself (D.I.Y.) This option allows you to assess the Thermal Comfort levels of your house. It is a simple process that you can complete yourself. Construction type + details Floor Concrete slab on ground
