1 Somerset County Emergency Services Training Academy Emergency Medical Services Faculty Biographies The Emergency Medical Services Division employs personnel with a wide range of experience and expertise. This enables us to teach a variety of courses and adapt quickly to new protocols and changes in training. EMT Director Chris Stellatella, EMT-B(1), NJ State EMS Certified Instructor Chris has been involved in multiple areas of emergency services since He has been a member of or been employed by the Shawnee Mountain Ski Patrol, Milltown Rescue Squad, East Brunswick Volunteer Fire Department, Robert Wood Johnson Hospital and the East Franklin Volunteer Fire Department to name a few. In 2000, he was hired as an EMT at Rutgers University. During his tenure at Rutgers, he was employed as an EMT, a Fire Inspector, and a shift Lieutenant in charge of response. In 2005, he was hired by the City of New Brunswick as a career firefighter/ EMT. Chris is also a member of NJ Task Force One, located at Lakehurst Navel Base, where he is a rescue specialist. In addition to being the lead instructor of EMS at the Somerset County Emergency Services Training Academy, he is also employed at Middlesex County Fire Academy as a fire and technical rescue instructor, and by the NJ-TF1 and Rutgers University as an instructor. Chris has a Bachelors of Science degree from Rutgers University and is a DFS Level II as well as an EMT-B(I). He currently owns and operates his own training company called Emergency Response Training Consultants

Julie Froat, EMT-B, NJ State EMS Certified Instructor Julie has been in the EMS field for the last 8 years, working in both the career and volunteer setting. She has been an EMS Educator for the past 8 years, certified as a NJ EMT Instructor for the last 5 1/2 years. Robert Gregory, EMT-B, Instructor Aide

In 1996 Chris began working for RWJUH-SPUH EMS, for whom he continues to work today. In 2002 Chris earned his way into the U.S. Coast Guard Reserve, and is currently assigned to a NJ boat station performing Search and Rescue as a NREMT. In 2003 Chris began working for Rutgers Emergency Services, He began his career with the City of New Brunswick Fire Department in Chris teaches for both SCESTA, and RWJ-EMS Education. He completed his training as a NJ DCA Fire Instructor Level One this year, and is working toward his certification as a NJ EMT-B Instructor. Chris looks forward to completing his double major at Rutgers University in the next year. Scott Pasichow, NJ State EMS Certified Instructor Scott joined the SCESTA in Stephan Priatka, EMT-B, Instructor Aide Stephan joined the SCESTA in 2011 Timothy Ring, EMT-B, Instructor Aide Timothy joined the SCESTA in He has been involved in Emergency
4 Medical Services since 1987, having served in various leadership positions within the Martinsville Rescue Squad, including two years as Captain and two years as President. In addition to being a life member of the Martinsville Rescue Squad, Timothy currently serves as Sergeant for the Green Knoll Rescue Squad, as well as being an instructor with the St. Peter's BLS Education Department. Timothy also holds instructor certifications for Coaching the Emergency Vehicle Operator II - Ambulance and Trauma, Triage & Transport. Dr Christopher Valerian, NJ State EMS Certified Instructor, Christopher joined the SCESTA in 2010 Barbara Vaning, NJ State EMS Certified Instructor Barbara joined the SCESTA in Barbara joined the EMS community in the late 70 s as a 5 pointer and has been an EMT since She has volunteered on a number of rescue squads in the central Jersey area including Kendall Park FAS, Squires FAS, Old Bridge Red and White, East Windsor District 1, Monroe FAS, Mountainside FAS and is presently riding with Montgomery EMS. Barbara has held positions including training officer, 1^st Lt. And 2^nd Lt. Barbara earned her Master of Health Administration and holds instructorships in CPR, EMT(I), Childbirth Education, SafeSitter, RadSystems (including RadKids, RadWomen, and RadSeniors), CarFit and ITLS. Barbara is also an American Heart Association Training Center Faculty. She also teaches for a variety of other EMS agencies. Douglas Vornlocker, EMT-B, Instructor Aide Doug joined the SCESTA in He has been involved in emergency services since In 2002, Doug began working as an Investigator in the Environmental Enforcement Unit of the Somerset County Health Department. In 2008, Doug took on the role of Deputy Coordinator in the Somerset County Office of Emergency Management. In addition, Doug is a Lieutenant, Radiation
5 Officer, Training Officer and Hazardous Materials Specialist for the Somerset County Hazardous Materials Response Team. Also, Doug holds certifications in ICS, NIMS, Flood/Swiftwater Rescue, Confined Space Rescue and Diving. Doug is a graduate of the FEMA Emergency Management Institute and Rutgers University, holding a Bachelors Degree in Biology. Brian Wilde, B.S., FF/EMT-Paramedic, NJ State Certified Fire/EMT Instructor Brian joined the SCESTA in Brian is a career firefighter with the Montclair Fire Department (assigned to Truck #1 and the Technical Rescue Team) since 2000, and as a paramedic with several agencies since In 1991, Brian began his emergency services career when he joined his hometown department, the Far Hills-Bedminster Fire Department. While earning his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, he became a NY EMT, then Paramedic and EMT Instructor. Brian holds instructor certifications in NJ EMT, PHTLS, CPR/AED, and is also a Fire Service Level 2 instructor. Brian serves as a Deputy Fire Coordinator for Somerset County, is a Fire/Arson Investigator, and has provided medical/communication service during disasters as part of the NJ-1 Disaster Medical Assistance Team. His experience and certifications span educational, incident command, advanced emergency medical and firefighting tactics/technologies.
