1 INTERNSHIP AGREEMENT Between the Geneva University of Art and Design, 15 bd James-Fazy, 1201 Geneva Switzerland in respect of its: course of study / specialisation:... 2 PREAMBLE: As part of their studies at HEAD Geneva, students have the opportunity to undertake an internship that will enable them to obtain 12 credits ECTS, namely 9 credits for the internship and 3 credits for the internship report/paper. The parties agree as follows: 1. OBJECTIVES OF THE INTERNSHIP The internship is part of the intern s education and professional training. Its purpose is to transfer the knowledge acquired at HEAD - Geneva to the working environment and prepare for working life. Under no circumstances may it be regarded as employment. The intern is required to submit an internship report/paper which will be evaluated by the company/organisation and HEAD-Geneva. At the end of the internship, the company/organisation will give the intern an internship certificate stating the duration of the internship, a description of the tasks performed and will also provide an evaluation of the intern s performance. 2. TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF THE INTERNSHIP The internship, which shall last for a minimum of months will take place at , for hours a week. STATUS OF THE INTERN Throughout the internship, the intern will still be registered at HEAD - Geneva and enrolled in his/her course of study / specialisation that is part of his/her degree. The intern is responsible for taking out health insurance as well as third party insurance during his/her internship. HEAD Geneva and the course of study / specialisation in which he/she is enrolled disclaim all liability in this regard. 2

OBLIGATIONS OF THE PARTIES 4.1 The Geneva University of Art and Design and the course of study / specialisation The objectives of the internship are determined by HEAD Geneva and the course of study / specialisation and HEAD GENVEVA appoints the lecturer: Surname: First name:... as the supervisor in charge of: - ensuring that the proposed internship meets the objectives of the internship; - assisting and advising the intern on writing his/her internship report/paper; - evaluating the internship certificate submitted by the organisation; - validating the internship report/paper submitted by the intern; - organising the viva voce examination or assessment of the paper; - complying with a duty of professional secrecy regarding the confidential information about the company/organisation. 4.2 The company/organisation The company/organisation shall welcome the intern and provide him/her with the means to complete his/her assignment, namely by: - appointing Mr./Mrs.:... as a capable and experienced tutor in charge of guiding and advising the intern; - informing the intern of the objectives that he/she is required to achieve; - providing the tools and instruments required to accomplish his/her assignment; - issuing an internship certificate; - evaluating the intern s performance; - informing the intern and the supervisor at HEAD Geneva of any changes to the nature of the internship; - obtaining a work permit if the intern is a foreigner; - adhering to the legal rules that apply to the internship. 4.3 The intern The intern agrees to: - perform the tasks that are entrusted to him/her by the company/organisation with due care and to the best of his/her ability; - abide by the internal rules and directives of the company/organisation; - observe the duty of care and professional secrecy towards the company/organisation by specifically complying with the duty of confidentiality determined by the company/organisation; - comply with the requirements that are specific to his/her university education. 5. DURATION OF THE INTERNSHIP The internship is concluded for a determinate period. It will terminate automatically at the end of the agreed period. The parties may agree a trial period. In this case, the period of notice during the trial period shall be 7 days. The internship may be terminated at any time for cause. 3
4 6. REMUNERATION The internship is not remunerated. / The internship is remunerated in accordance with the following terms and conditions (delete as appropriate):.. The standard social security contributions are deducted from the remuneration in accordance with the legislation in force. 7. HOLIDAYS The intern is entitled to 4 weeks annual holiday. If the internship lasts less than one year, the holiday entitlement is determined proportionately to the duration of the internship. For internships abroad, the annual holiday entitlement is based on the legislation in force. 8. SOCIAL SECURITY CONTRIBUTIONS The employer/organisation shall comply with its obligations in the area of insurance and social security contributions. The employer/organisation shall namely deduct the following amounts from the intern s gross pay: % for pension and life insurance, disability insurance, income protection insurance; - 1.1% for unemployment insurance; % for maternity benefit. The employer/organisation also agrees to take out accident insurance for the intern. For internships abroad, the social security contributions to be deducted from the gross pay are calculated in accordance with the legislation in force. 9. INTERNSHIP REPORT/PAPER Specify the form and content of the internship report /paper, the relevant formalities (deadline for submission) and the number of credits awarded to you for the internship according to the study rules and regulations: 10. VALIDATION OF THE INTERNSHIP Specify the procedure for validating the internship, the number of credits awarded for the internship, the formalities involved in validating the internship report/paper according to the study rules and regulations: 4
5 11. APPLICABLE LAW The working conditions during the internship derive from the legislation that is applicable at the place of the internship. If the internship is undertaken in Switzerland, the company shall comply with its obligations under employment law and the social insurance regulations as well as all other applicable federal or cantonal provisions.
