The 2015 SRBLSA Job Fair will be held Saturday, August 22, 2015 at Florida A&M University College of ( FAMU ). Established in 1968, the National Black Students Association ( NBLSA ) is one of the largest student-run organizations of its kind in the United States. NBLSA was formed to articulate and promote the needs and goals of Black law students. NBLSA consists of more than 200 chapters situated at law schools throughout the country with more than 6,500 active members. SRBLSA is the largest of NBLSA s six regions, having more than 1700 student members at 46 law schools located in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Puerto Rico. MARCUS SANDIFER Community Service Director JERAI GREEN Community Service Specialist ARIANNA BURNETTE Director of Alumni Affairs MARIA LUNGU Director of Moot Court LUCY BOATENG Moot Court Specialist KETIENE TELEMAQUE Director of Mock Trial ASHELY BREAUX Mock Trial Specialist BRANDON COOPER Director of Programming SHANICE BAILEY Director of Pre- Division NEENA SPEAR CHARLES MCGEE Co-Directors of Pre- Division JASMIN MORRIS Director of Membership ARIELLE MINOR Convention Coordinator AKIESHA ANDERSON BRANDI RUSSELL Job Fair Coordinators Through its Regional Job Fair, SRBLSA seeks to increase access to employment and professional development opportunities for its members who are historically underrepresented in the practice of law. The Job Fair gives SRBLSA members the opportunity to learn about participating firms, organizations and agencies. It also gives members the opportunity to learn what is expected of them and what they can expect in their summer and post-graduate positions. The SRBLSA Job Fair is not only an excellent opportunity for organizations to take a proactive approach towards diversity, but it is also a beneficial recruiting tool for organizations to seek exceptional law students from across the nation. In addition to offering the opportunity for students and employers to interview in person, SRBLSA is excited about offering a resume collection program. Employers and students who cannot participate in the event by coming to Orlando, FL can participate solely via Symplicity. Last year, dozens of employers participated in the 2014 SRBLSA Job Fair, and more than 100 diverse law students were interviewed. Participating in the Job Fair gives employers the opportunity to demonstrate their commitment to increasing diversity in the legal profession. It also provides access to students who are versed in the issues and laws unique to the region in which they will soon practice. We hope that your organization will take advantage of this opportunity to promote the enrichment of law students within the Southern Region and to support the endeavors of SRBLSA.
