2 Quality Classroom Instruction for Every Child robust, standards-aligned curricula evidenced-based instructional practices universal screening of basic academic skills grade level teaming to analyze data, set targets for improvement, adjust instruction and make intervention/enrichment decisions
3 Differentiation is Responsive Teaching Teachers proactively plan varied approaches to what students need to learn, how they will learn it, and/or how they will show what they have learned in order to increase the likelihood that each student will learn as much as he or she can, as efficiently as possible. (Tomlinson, 2003)

Presentations are 45 minutes to an audience of Interested students Magical Magazine A group of third grade students work to publish student writing 3 times per year. All students at Primrose Hill School are encouraged to submit original writing and artwork.
39 Primrose Hill Enrichment Other Programs: Family Book ClubThroughout the year books are chosen for each grade level. Students and a family member read the book and participate in monthly Book Club meetings Passion Based LearningStudents choose what they want to learn about. Projects must be research-based and answer a question. Students will present final projects to classmates Technology IntegrationStudents take a topics that they are currently learning about in class and expand upon it using technology. From this data along with diagnostic assessment, students who are identified as needing targeted interventions are monitored bi monthly. Students reading below grade level are documented and provided interventions utilizing a PLP. 43 HMS Students Say... Having the extra help means a lot to me because it makes me a better reader. It makes me want to read harder books to challenge myself. It also makes me more fluent. It helped me understand words and I can read without getting stuck on words. I am sort of ready to read harder books.
44 HMS Teachers Say The RTI Team has been an effective way to problem solve student needs through an independent viewpoint. Gr. 5 Teacher Response to Intervention at HMS can be compared to a moving target. When children are identified as having a gap, they are frequently reviewed with progress monitoring data and teachers diagnose the best resources to meet the foundational gap. Then that s when it becomes a moving target. The child is continuously monitored and the data continues to move. Action is taken to meet the needs of the child academically or behaviorally. It is always with our greatest hope that the data shows the target moving toward the positive. If not, the tighter the reigns get so we can meet the needs of the child. Gr. 4 Teacher
45 HMS Parents Say... I think every child has their own unique tools within them that helps them learn and grow. For some, those tools are hidden and hard to find. Her teacher has helped her find her tools and is teaching her how to use them to become the best she can be! What more could a parent ask for? When a child is happy and confident, they surely are in the best position to achieve success! Having the opportunity to get support means so much to us and means our daughter will have greater success in her school work all the way around.
