1 BUSINESS HEAD MOZAMBIQUE A Transnational Food Processing Major BACKGROUND The mandate was to hire a Business Head for the Mozambique operations (USD 240 Mn) of a globally integrated processor of agricultural products and food ingredients, which supplies its products across 16 platforms to 13,600 customers worldwide. The role would effectively be that of a Profit Centre Head in the experience range of years managing an employee base of approximately 350 including 6 Senior direct reports (all expatriates). ASSIGNMENT BRIEF The client was keen to look for a Premier school MBA with a minimum of 15 years of experience in FMCG Sales combined with a strong exposure to manufacturing This combination was the key challenge for filling the role. Keeping their business need in mind, our client was seeking a flexible leader, adaptive yet decisive to work in an unstructured environment with changing business needs. Prior experience in business negotiations was a given for the role.

3 COUNTRY HEAD NIGERIA FMCG Global Top 5 BACKGROUND Our Client is an Anglo-Dutch global consumer goods conglomerate headquartered in the UK. With operations in around 60 countries and market capitalization of approximately 31.6 billion, it is a major producer of health, hygiene and home products. ASSIGNMENT BRIEF The Country Head is responsible for the delivery of the P&L objectives while driving sales and marketing activities across all owned brands across all channels ultimately delivering challenging commercial results. The client was keen to look at talent from the FMCG space operating in similar market environments, i.e. large developing, fragmented markets where the business is going through a huge transformation in terms of go-to-market. Strong understanding of sales, product innovation., drafting of innovative pricing strategies Deep knowledge of the local market, including both National Accounts and local retailers Ability to build Partnerships and Strategic Working Relationships

4 OUR APPROACH Talent scan: Across Africa, India, ME & Indonesia of top 20 FMCG companies. We streamlined our market scan in keeping with specifications outlined by client, with core focus on leadership talent from FMCG/related domains with hands on experience in sales, marketing and manufacturing functions Client was keen on market landscape of diversity talent that could be considered for the role. The final candidate hired was sent for an Interim- training for a year to Sri Lanka (since it resonated the same market dynamics as Nigeria). Timelines: 46 days from download to acceptance of offer by candidate

5 MARKETING HEAD An East African FMCG Giant BACKGROUND Our Client is a leading conglomerate headquartered in Tanzania with fast growing presence across the African continent. Our mandate was to look for a Marketing head for their FMCG organization. Our Client is renowned player across the region as a house of brands and boasting of multiple brands in many categories as distinctive as dental care, skin care, healthcare and fledgling interests in foods. They have 7 core-brands and 40 SKUs resulting in an annual turnover of 50 million USD and are rapidly growing at the rate of 20% year on year. ASSIGNMENT BRIEF The role required a seasoned Marketer with years of prior experience in managing the marketing function and in-depth knowledge of Brand Management/ Product Management within the FMCG space. This our client felt would help them formulate better Brand Management & Branding strategies for their businesses. With strong exposure to Sales and marketing, brand management, product management etc. the candidate to be hired also needed Creative Development and Media Agency experience.

With annualized revenues of nearly $60 billion, it offers the world s largest portfolio of billion-dollar food and beverage brands. In its current setup, the client works either independently or in conjunction with third-party partners in Africa for the beverage, food and snack businesses. ASSIGNMENT BRIEF The Operations Director supports Franchise Owned Bottling Operation (FOBO) in the achievement of the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) via building and sustaining Bottler Making and Delivery capability (Manufacturing and Supply Chain). Ensures that bottlers abide to all PepsiCo requirements and guidelines for Quality and Food Safety. The Operations Director builds the bottlers capabilities through trainings and audits on client specific Best Practice Tools (BPT). The Client wanted a comprehensive market scan of leadership talent in the Operations function with a specific emphasis on three separate categories-

8 1. Native Talent in Nigeria and rest of Africa 2. Candidates located in India/ Pakistan with experience of working in a fragmented market environment 3. Expat Africans in Europe/ Middle East/ North America Minimum of 15 years of experience in an operating environment. Advanced knowledge of Beverage manufacturing Extensive experience of formulating manufacturing/product sourcing & materials supply strategies Should be analytical thinker with strong drive for results. Ability to lead, train, develop and motivate others without authority, including senior level internally and in third party franchisees/suppliers. Leadership capabilities and communication skills. Ability to work under pressure & in teams.
