2 Introduction Background of CSLC coaches Central Susquehanna Lacrosse Club founded in 1999 Summer programs in 1999 and 2000 First competitive MS team with a 4 game schedule in Spring 2001 HS boys, HS girls and MS boys teams with 12 to 18 game schedules since Spring 2002 River Sticks Boys Tournament since 2003 River Sticks Girls Tournament since 2005

3 Objectives Provide a simplified overview of the game Demonstrate fundamental skills Explain program costs Spark interest among parents to help with the teams Describe playing opportunities in 2006 Answer frequently asked lacrosse questions Answer any additional questions about forming a Midd-West club team

4 Boys Lacrosse Field

5 Boys Game Contact game played by 10 players per team The object of the game is to shoot, knock or kick the ball into the opponent's goal Each team must keep at least four players, including the goalie, in its defensive half of the field and three in its offensive half High school games are 48 minutes long, with 12-minute quarters.

7 Girls Game Finesse game played by 12 players per team The object of the game is to shoot the ball into the opponent's goal Each team may have only seven players in its offensive zone High school games have two 25-minute halves

10 Sportsmanship Boys Lacrosse Fighting is not tolerated it is an automatic ejection penalty and a mandatory 1 game suspension Two fighting ejections in the course of the season result in a season-long suspension for the player

11 Growth of Lacrosse in Central PA 15 years ago 4 boys teams in Lancaster-Harrisburg area Last year 32 boys teams and 24 girls teams in south central PA (York- Lancaster-Harrisburg-Carlisle) Last year 3 boys teams and 3 girls teams in north central PA
