Meet TransGlobal Education and Training (TET)/Local Assistant HCMC guide (TBC) at the airport for group transfer to accommodation. Onsite health and safety orientation. Meals: TBC - Pho 2000, add: 1-3 Phan Chu Trinh, Ben Thanh ward, District 1 (Bach (Jacob) will take the group there after checking in the hotel) Transportation: Airport Transfer by hotel (private air conditioned automobile). Walk to restaurant. Day 2: Thurs, Feb Morning: Orientation, Program Overview, House keeping, Banking and phone cards etc. Lunch: : Uhouse Beer & Barbecue, addr: 1 Cong Truong Quoc Te st, Ward 6, District 3 Session 1 at Saigon University, 273 An Duong Vuong St., Dist 5, HCMC: 13:30 15:00: Vietnam introduction, history, culture, political system, economic and social development etc. 15:30 17:30 City Tour Exploring Ho Chi Minh City - Youth Cultural House, Notre Dame Cathedral, Saigon Central Post Office, Saigon Opera House, Walk to Turtle Lake (taking photos and trying Vietnamese coffee culture) 19:00 21:00: Ngon restaurant Meals: breakfast, lunch (1) and dinner (2) Transportation: lots of walking and ½ day bus Day 3: Fri, Feb Morning : Breakfast at hotel. 9:00 11:30: City Tour (cont) Lunch: Tasting authentic Vietnamese BBQ ( bun cha ) and authentic northern Spring rolls at Nem restaurant on Nguyen Thi Minh Khai Street Afternoon Session 2: Language session (Vietnamese) at Saigon University, 273 An Duong Vuong St., Dist 5, HCMC Evening: Night market. Day 6: Mon, Feb Morning: Breakfast at hotel. 8:30 leave the hotel Session 3: At Pham Ngoc Thach Medical University of HCMC (86/2 Thành Thái Street, Ward 12, District 10, HCMC) Introduction on University and its programs and training Introduction of the Health system in Vietnam and specially in Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam today: health care system, old and new health issues Lunch: TBC (maybe students interaction at lunch- TBC) Historical tour of Ho Chi Minh City: War Remnants Museum (entry fee: 15,000 VND pp to be paid by students) The Independence Palace (entry fee: 30,000 VND pp to be paid by students directly) Shopping experience at Taka for export quality products Evening: TBC Transportation: Local visits (private air conditioned automobile). Exploring Statue of Jesus Christ with outstretched arms, Vung Tau Lighthouse, Beautiful Pagodas, Ho May tour. Dinner: Ganh Hao restaurant (behind beach) at Vung Tau city and enjoying the night beach., and dinner Transportation: Day 10: Fri, Feb Morning: Breakfast at hotel. (8:00 am leave hotel and go to Health Prevention centre) Session 8: 9:00 11:00: Visit Health Prevention Centre in Ba Ria Vung Tau Presenter: Dr. Ha Van Thanh - Prevention and promotion programs - Public health planning - Non-communicable and communicable diseases programs - Epidemiology Control and Prevention Venue: 19 Pham Ngoc Thach st, Ba Ria city Lunch: Song Rach Hao restaurant (behind river) at Ba Ria city 13:00 17:00: Go to Long Tan ward, Dat Do district. Exploring Battle of Long Tan Memorial Cross, Minh Dam historical mountain, Long Hai Beach, Ba Ria CBD Market (shopping) Dinner: Lan Rung restaurant (behind beach) at Vung Tau city, and Dinner Transportation: Day 11: Sat, Feb Morning : Breakfast at hotel. Leave Ho Chi Minh City a 3 day excursion at a highland province, Dalat city, which is called Paris of Vietnam. This excursion will provide further cultural and historical background as well as learning about Health Issues in this region.
