2 Introduction Volleyball Victoria Incorporated (VVI) is the state association for volleyball in Victoria and has undertaken a review of its strategy and the important role the organisation plays in supporting the sport of volleyball in Victoria. The organisation is now pleased top be able to present the Strategic Plan which outlines the path VVI will take in order to continue the growth an improvement of volleyball and achieve the vision of becoming a high profile sport in Victoria and recognised as the lead state in the country. The Strategic Plan is the culmination of the efforts of the Board, management, staff and stakeholders. The review has lead to the identification of key strategies and organisational priorities which will lead to the growth of volleyball and a sustainable future. VVI has identified the following four strategic pillars. 1) Participation 2) Pathways 3) Profile 4) Sustainability We look forward to the challenges ahead and working with our stakeholders in achieving this plan and its objectives over the next three years. 3 Mission To lead, grow and promote volleyball across Victoria Vision For volleyball to be a high profile sport in Victoria and recognised as the leading volleyball state in Australia Purpose 1) To create a framework for clubs, athletes, coaches, officials and volunteers to contribute and grow 2) To create pathways for participation and excellence in volleyball 3) Showcase the health, lifestyle and social benefits of volleyball Values - Inclusivity - Integrity - Pride - Respect - Commitment Adopted : VV Board meeting October

5 PARTICIPATION Offer the best programs and events which improve the overall experience of our participants Objective: Increase accessibility to volleyball for all junior players regardless of location, age or ability Facilitate joint programs with affiliates aimed at increasing participation and membership Develop new initiatives and programs that engage new and diverse participation Work with the school network to increase opportunities in volleyball Work with state and local government in delivering strategic programs Objective: Produce sustainable competitions and events throughout Victoria Further develop the current social competitions and implement new social competitions around the state Increase the opportunities for the community to engage with VVI through newly structured events, competitions and programs Assist affiliates in establishing and growing competition and events in their regions Review all structures and policies to ensure clubs and affiliates are able to grow participation and membership Objective: Provide a clear elite development pathway with will allow talented athletes the opportunity to progress to elite competitive levels Review and refine state team trials and structures within the national structure Continually communicate with the community on opportunities available Foster relationships between coaches officials and athletes How will VVI Measure Success? Participation data research including retention rates, registered players and new participation data Competition and event participation data Establishment agreements with affiliates and associations Adopted : VV Board meeting October
6 PATHWAYS Create pathways for every player, coach and official top achieve excellence according to their desires and abilities Objective: Establish a clearly defined development pathway for Victorian coaches and officials Work with Volleyball Australia in establishing and implementing new and existing education and national accreditation programs for coaches and officials Communicate all opportunities to coaches and officials Objective: Recruit, develop and support all volunteers, including coaches and officials Identify gaps in current information that will assist clubs in recruiting volunteers Understand what clubs and affiliates do in supporting volunteers Increase reward and recognition of volunteers in all areas of volleyball How will VVI Measure Success? Number of Victorian Coaches, officials and volunteers registered with VVI Number of times opportunities are communicated to the volleyball community Develop volunteer network which all affiliates and clubs can access Increased opportunity to recognise volunteers Volunteer recognition and reward program Development of resources and manual for volunteers Adopted : VV Board meeting October
7 PROFILE Promote the sport effectively to create a high level of engagement both on and off the court Objective: Foster strong relationships that will maximise opportunities for volleyball Maximise communication with key stakeholders through an effective communications strategy Strengthen partnerships with state and local government Develop strategic partnerships with sporting associations for mutually beneficial outcomes Objective: Promotion through partnerships and increased the profile of VVI Develop strategies to increase the value of the VVI brand Increase awareness of the brands key attributes through a clearly defined marketing strategy Strengthen relationships with champion Victorian volleyball players to support the promotion and awareness of volleyball Objective: Ensure a consultative and innovate approach is used to strengthen relationships with stakeholders Engage stakeholders more often to provide input Strengthen relationships with all stakeholders through increased communication How will VVI Measure Success? Development and implementation of a customer service charter Government funding/grants secured Increased contribution to government reviews and strategies Increased sponsor/partners for VVI Adopted : VV Board meeting October
8 SUSTAINABILITY Provide a stable and viable association through effective business practices and sound financial management Objective: Provide leadership and governance Enhance governance arrangements top increase board and management effectiveness and accountability Ensure a performance management, review and accountability foe VVI personnel is in place Review of all policies, risk management assessments and strategies are in place to protect the organisation and all its members Assist all VVI affiliates in their governance needs Ensure all processes and services delivery is undertaken in a transparent manner Develop a customer service charter where both VVI and its stakeholders are held accountable for communication Objective: Ensure sound financial management for VVI Ensure sustainability of existing or new events Investigate new commercial funding opportunities and developing long term partnerships Maximising funding opportunities from government organisations Implement sound business and marketing strategies How will VVI Measure Success? Bring all policies into line with current standards Work with all clubs to ensure they are complaint with relevant laws Operate at a profit each financial year Investment in resources and programs Ensure a return on investment Adopted : VV Board meeting October
