We have a distributor rebuild kit available (part # ). It includes all replaceable components, screws and keys. Additional parts such as spring housings, motors, mounting bolts can be ordered separately as needed. ALIGN QUICK DISCONNECTS (12613 & 12614) WITH HARNESS (104706). RED TO RED AND BLACK TO BLACK FOR LH PUSH OR LH PULL. USE QUICK DISCONNECT (12614) ON RED WIRE & (12613) ON BLACK WIRE. 5 Remove Gear Motor from Operator. Remove (4) ¼-20 Phillips flathead screws from the bottom of the Header box. Remove (1) Phillips Pan head ground screw. Unplug micro-switch harness from control board. Twist motor towards you and up as you pull unit out to avoid damage to Micro-Switches Page 5

6 Replacing Motor Shaft Key Remove through bolts from motor as pictured. Separate motor from gearbox receiver. Some gentle prying may be necessary for older units. Motor P/N #12600 Motor Key P/N #12612 Examine motor shaft for excessive wear in key slot. Replace motor if necessary. Replace 1/8 woodruff key. Apply a light grease to shaft to inhibit rust. Reassemble motor to gearbox. Pay close attention to key when aligning. Key may push out. When assembled, use power arm to rotate gearbox and be sure motor rotates. If motor locks up or does not rotate, separate motor and reinsert key and reassemble motor to gearbox Page 6

7 Disassembling Unit Position the Unit with the motor to the right as shown. Cam Replacement Mark Cam position, if no parts are broken this will aid in the reinstalling process. Remove (1) /8 Allen Head screw holding Cam in place. Remove the Cam. Replace if damaged or modified. Micro-switch Plate and Harness Replacement Remove (2) screws with 1/8 Allen wrench and lift off the Micro-Switch Plate. Inspect switches, replace assembly if necessary Page 7

8 Square Stop Replacement Note cam orientation and screws placement. Remove (3) 10-32, screws with 1/8 Allen Head wrench and remove the Square Stop Plate. Inspect plate for damage and replace if necessary Page 8

9 Round Stop Replacement Remove Phillips Pan Head screw and remove (2) Round Stops. Inspect and replace if damaged. Spring Replacement Note spring orientation before removing spring. Use the operator arm to unwind the Clock Spring until it can be lifted out. If the spring is broken you will need to pry it out. Use caution when doing this. The spring does not expand more than 3/ Page 9

10 Shaft and Arbor Replacement To replace the shaft, turn unit up-side down. Tap the top on a hard surface or carefully tap the splined end of shaft with flat face hammer until 3/16 x 1 key from Arbor and Shaft can be removed. If this fails, drill a hole in the key with 1/8 drill bit, insert easy-out (a small screw may work) and pull key out Page 10

11 Unscrew Arbor from Shaft. Inspect keyway and screw holes for damage. Replace if necessary Page 11

12 Drop Shaft out from the splined end. Inspect for straightness. Inspect the keyway for wear. Replace if necessary. To set the gearbox to open to 90 (degrees) you must modify the stop plate. DO NOT replace the Shaft Key into the shaft or the spring at this time. Rub a small amount of oil on new Shaft to inhibit rust. Insert the new Shaft into gearbox. Screw Arbor down until it bottoms out and reverse until the key can be inserted. Review Handing Diagram (see page 14) to determine correct Arbor position Page 12

13 Final adjustment to Cam can be made after Unit has been reinstalled and attached to door leaf. Re-assemble the Stop Plate to the Arbor according to the diagram on page 14. Replace Round Stops Rotate the shaft by hand until Stop Plate rests against the Round Stops Attach the Pull Arm Assembly so the short portion is parallel with the operator, opposite of the motor. If the arm is over rotated, remove arm from shaft and reattach to the one position less that 90. Remove Stop Plate and remove enough material from contact corner to allow the arm to rotate to 90. Modified Stop Plates LH Pull RH Pull material removed on these corners to increase rotation Insure there is solid contact between the Stop Plate and the Round Stop at the meeting point. Once you are satisfied with open position, mark the Shaft and Arm for future position reference. Remove Round Stops, Stop Plate, Arbor and Shaft Re-assemble the unit Insert Shaft Key and reinstall Shaft Turn the arbor all the way down until tight. Reverse to insert arbor key (see diagram on page 14). Install the spring according to diagram. Insure the outer grips are seated. Rotate to preload spring 1/2 turn and allow spring to return to relaxed position.
