3 Who We Are Pusat Krisis Fakultas Psikologi Universitas Indonesia was established in 1998 in response to the May 1998 riot. Pusat Krisis (or Crisis Center) carries out a mission to provide psychosocial assistance to individuals, groups, and communities affected by conflict and disaster as well as humanitarian workers and agencies working in conflict and postdisaster areas. As a university based institution, Pusat Krisis continuously strives to conduct research to obtain and develop knowledge in the field of psychosocial intervention and disaster psychology that serves as foundation of its work and service. Our Vision: Our goal is to be a leading institution in the promotion, prevention, and rehabilitation efforts of psychosocial impact of disasters and social conflicts in Indonesia. Our Missions: 1. Provide assistance for communities in overcoming psychosocial issues, especially those connected with natural disasters and social conflicts. 2. Conduct studies of various psychosocial issues in natural disasters and social conflicts. 3. Develop knowledge and skills of psychologists and volunteers in providing psychological assistance.

8 One of our regular training session TRAINING and CAPACITY BUILDING Crisis center provides several training packages related to psychology in the context of disaster. We offer regular (in house) training as well as by request. The topics we provide are: 1. Psychological First Aid 2. Psychosocial Support 3. Stress Management for Humanitarian Worker 4. Parenting in Disaster Context 5. Debriefing for Humanitarian Worker Throughout the years we have provided hundreds of trainings for communities, volunteers, government agencies, schools and academic FAKULTAS PSIKOLOGI UNIVERSITAS INDONESIA

10 RESEARCH and PUBLICATIONS Crisis Center continually conducts research on psychological dynamics and experiences that occur both at the individual and the community level who suffered from natural disasters and social conflicts, including humanitarian workers and volunteers. The results of these studies were used as foundations to develop theoretical understanding of the psychological effects arise from disaster and conflicts, and develop a model for psychosocial intervention. Crisis Center also developed and published modules, books, booklets, and leaflets that serve as a reference as well as practical guidelines based on our research and lesson s learned from the field.
