The winners will be revealed at the highly anticipated awards ceremony held on the 29th March after a day of business and networking at the StocExpo Europe exhibition. The global event will be hosted by a well known comedian and will include a drinks reception, 3 course dinner, casino, live band and all inclusive drinks all evening! TANK STORAGE AWARD CATEGORIES TERMINAL AWARDS 1 Safety Excellence in Bulk Liquid Storage The winner of this award will be able to demonstrate an impeccable safety record in 2016 specifically when it comes to lost time injuries as well as recording near miss incidents. 6 Most Invaluable Product The winner of this award will be the technology that no terminal can be without. 7 Best Technology Provider Whatever service or product this organisation offers, this company sets the industry standard for unrivalled environmental, economic or safety performance. INDIVIDUAL AWARDS 8 Best Newcomer This award goes to the person who has excelled him/her self in a long established industry in a short amount of time. 9 Individual Achievement This award goes to an individual who has gone above and beyond to ensure the success of a company or the safety of his/her colleagues. 2 Biggest Commitment to Environmental Protection This terminal should be able to demonstrate its dedication to protecting the environment via the use of the latest technology to prevent leaks and spills and/or minimise emissions. 10 Personality Of The Year This award goes to an exemplary individual in the industry who is valued and respected throughout the sector. (Voting for the winner of this category will open in January 2017) 3 Most Efficient Storage Terminal The winner of this category will be the terminal that boasts the best throughput rates and most effective operations. PORT AWARD 4 Best Port This award goes to the port that the industry feels is the easiest to work with and demonstrates a commitment to efficiency and safety. WHY NOMINATE? 3 TANK STORAGE AWARDS JUDGES The Tank Storage Awards judges are a cross section of experts taken from across the terminal industry around the globe. They receive no personal or financial benefit for their participation. Marc De Witte Executive Director, FETSA Marc De Witte joined FETSA in He has around 35 years experience in various maritime and transport positions. Margit Blok Global HSE Director, VTTI Margit Blok joined VTTI as Corporate HSE Director when the company had only just started in She started in the terminal industry in 1998, working as the Director of Engineering, Safety & Environment for IMTT in Canada. In between she spent two years working as HSE manager for Vopak Oil EMEA and Vopak Oil Rotterdam. Roderick de Rooij Commercial Manager, Oiltanking Odfjell Terminals Oman Roderick de Rooij has worked with Oiltanking since 2005 and moved to Oman three years ago. He is commercially responsible for 1.3 million m 3 of storage capacity. Earl Crochet Business Development Director, Kinder Morgan Earl Crochet has been with Kinder Morgan since 2008, spending four years working as an Environmental Health & Safety Manager. Walter E Wattenbergh Group CEO, LBC Tank Terminals Group Walter Wattenbergh has been Group CEO of LBC Tank Terminals Group since April In 1986, Wattenbergh built his own company together with a partner to operate barges in Europe and act as shipping agent for the growing barging industry. In 1994, he sold the company to Stolt- Nielsen which he joined to build out Stolt-Nielsen s Inland shipping business. Later he assumed the additional responsibility of Stolt-Nielsen s Inter European fleet. He was then promoted to Managing Director for all of Stolt-Nielsen s activities in Europe. In 2004 he took over the terminal division which under his leadership expanded from 5 to 20 terminals. Martyn Lyons CEO, InterTerminals Martyn Lyons became Chief Executive of Inter Terminals Limited in January 2015, and he is a Board director of Inter Pipeline Europe Limited. Martyn was appointed Managing Director in May 2006 having worked for the Company in various operational roles since Martyn is a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute, a Member of the Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology, an Associate of the International Institute of Risk and Safety Management, and is an Incorporated Engineer. Ulf Vleeshouwers Senior Adviser, InterTank Ulf Vleeshouwers began his career as Sales Manager at Paktank in He has now worked in the independent storage sector for over 46 years, most notably as Managing Director for Nordic Storage. Mike Beviss Director of Special Projects, Eastport Global Mike Beviss has nearly 40 years experience in the shipping & storage industry. He worked with Odfjell for 13 years and now provides feasibility studies and advisory services as well as commercial training and tools to improve efficiency and productivity in storage terminals. Niels von Hombracht Managing Director, Flowcom Consultancy Niels von Hombracht started his career at Shell Chemical in 1977 and then moved to Pakhoed (predecessor to Vopak), were he held senior management positions in refining, tank storage, shipping and supply-chain management. Ruud van Stralen Managing Director, TankPort Ruud van Stralen began his career as a Commercial Trainee for Tradax BV in January In 1998 he became the Commercial Manager of Oil and Chemicals for the Port of Amsterdam. Ruud van Stralen now owns TankPort B.V., a small advisory company that provides services to clients regarding all matters related to tank leasing, contracting, and operations. John Cornell Training Provider, API John Cornell is a Senior Tank Specialist for H.I.R. Technical Services, which serves as an industry consultant and has worked on projects from Guatemala City to The Hague. He is the official contracted training provider for API worldwide and has been offering tank training courses on standards such as API-620, API-650 and API-653 for many years.
