3 SPECIFYING DA-LITE FRONT PROJECTION SCREENS 1. Select the right screen size format: Screen height should be approximately equal to 1/6 the distance from the screen to the last row of seats, allowing text to be read detail to be seen in the projected image. Screen width will be determined by desired format. The bottom of the screen should be a minimum of 4' above the audience floor, allowing those seated toward the rear to see the screen. 2. Select the right screen surface. (All surfaces are flame retardant mildew resistant.) 3. Select the right screen type. Use chart on page 2. FRONT PROJECTION SCREEN SURFACES SUPPORTED FIBERGLASS Matte White : The most versatile uniform material for front projection. Gives precise definition reproduction of color or black white. Enables unlimited viewing angles perfect uniformity. Washable with mild soap water. Gain: 1.0, Viewing Angle: 60º High Contrast Matte White : Designed for moderate output DLP LCD projectors. Gray base material reflective top surface provide very good black levels without sacrificing white level output. Washable with mild soap water. Gain: 1.1, Viewing Angle: 50º Video Spectra 1.5 : Ideal for graphics, data video display. Special pearlescent coated surface provides optimal viewing angle with moderate gain. REAR PROJECTION SCREEN SURFACES FLEXIBLE FABRIC SCREENS Da-Tex : A translucent, neutral gray vinyl fabric that allows rear projection in applications where a rigid acrylic or glass screen are not possible. This specially designed gray vinyl surface offers the same high transmission low reflectance values as a rigid rear projection screen for optimal viewing.
