2 How did slavery affect America? Slavery had began in the 1800s and practically shaped America. Slavery transformed America into an economic power. Had caused this to make a negative place in history Gave the us free labor laws.

3 How did slavery effect America? Slavery had help develop the Underground Railroad, which several people were recognized for helping them. Before the civil war, the United States was transforming into a tobacco and manufacturing country. The civil war was to preserve the union not a struggle to free the slaves.

4 *Who helped with the Underground Railroad? Harriet Tubman, Fredrick Douglas, Harriet Beecher Stowe, John Brown, and Henry David Thoreau were all helpful for slaves to escape for freedom. 5 What amendment helped end slavery? The 13th amendment had made slavery extinct, but this had only happened with Abraham Lincoln s help. To guarantee the legality and perpetuity of slavery in the slave states, rather than to end it, Abraham Lincoln had chosen to make it the 13 th amendment.

The slaves states were located in Delaware, Maryland, district of Columbia, Virginia, Kentucky, Missouri, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Arkansas, and Florida. Virginia was the first slave state in the US. The slave states had not began till 1808.

7 Who had helped slaves throughout history? Harriet Tubman and Fredrick Douglas were on of the most common people in the Underground railroad. They had helped hundreds slaves escape to help them be free and feel safe.

Harriet had escaped slavery to become a leading abolitionist to help other African Americans. She had successfully escaped in 1890 and help save thousands of slaves. Harriet Tubman

9 Frederick Douglass was an African- American social reformer, abolitionist, orator, writer, statesman, and former slave. Was one of the first African American to hold a high U.S. government rank. He had escaped slavery to marry the love of his life, Anna Murray. Douglass was one of the few make supporter to fight for women's rights. Fredrick Douglass

10 Why did Lincoln want to end slavery? Since the Emancipation Proclamation only freed some of the slaves, Lincoln did not think it was fair and decided to make the 13 th amendment and free all of the slaves.

11 Where were most slaves kept? 90% of slaves were imported into Caribbean and South America and 6% were imported to the US. Since the slave trade was invented, slaves were kept all over the place.
