1 Research of Monitoring Terminal for Fiber Grating Sensing Device Based on Android Xu Jiang *, Lili Liu, Simeng Yu **, Guohui Lyu *** and Xiaohan Zhan Abstract: According to the actual needs of FBG sensing instruments in terms of intelligent terminals, designed a software of FBG sensing monitoring system based on the current mainstream Android operating system, which to run on 3G mobile phones. It is used to remotely access and manage fiber optic sensing device. Makes use of intelligent terminal software will enhance the level of safety monitoring instrument intelligence, so that the management of monitoring system will be more flexible, system maintenance will be more convenient and the reliability, security of monitoring equipment can also improved, then, it has a good value for optical fiber sensing application. Keywords: Android, Intelligent Terminal, Optical fiber sensing device, Data collection INTRODUCTION Optical fiber sensing technique is an emerging technology which combines the optical, mechanical, electronics, materials and information processing. It possesses amounts of advantages like small volume, safe and durable, lightweight, anti-electromagnetic interference, better insulation, no danger of deflagration, no power supply for sensing, remote measurement, and multi-point sensing. It is widely used in petroleum, chemical, metallurgy, semiconductor, aerospace and other fields. Currently, multi-functions fiber sensing devices are always placed in the control room or project site, it s inconvenient to come true the real-time operating by engineering personnel, regular inspection, remote login and some other management, an intelligent terminal is needed to solve this problem [1-4]. The design is based on the current mainstream of Android operating system. It aims to design software of Fiber Bragg grating sensor monitoring system, which is used for data monitoring of optical fiber sensing device. The design uses the Socket communication technology, utilizes the Wi-Fi wireless transmission to make data communication and makes use of Android smart phone terminal to receive data then reserve them in SQLite database, through which users can inquire historical data and curve to fully grasp the integrate operation performance of optical fiber sensing device. This paper also designs the early warning function. When monitoring data is beyond the intended scope, warning pictures will be sent to monitoring personnel. At that time, the warning function will inform worker to deal with it, which guarantees the safe operation of the equipment. The 3G smart FBG sensing monitoring intelligent terminal, which is designed based on the Android operating system, according to the actual needs of the project, it will enhance the level of safety monitoring instrument intelligence, so that the management of monitoring system will be more flexible, system maintenance will be more convenient and the 25

OPTICAL FIBER SENSING DEVICE DATA COLLECTION PROGRAM Optical fiber sensing system is mainly composed of three parts, namely: the front sensors, FBG demodulator, the mobile terminal of Android. Optical fiber sensing device monitoring system is shown in Figure 1: Within the Wi-Fi network coverage, the staff started Android handset software, mobile terminal sends a request to the FBG demodulator, the fiber demodulator receiving the request, then, the data can be transmitted through the socket channel; The data is received by mobile terminal, it is stored in the SQLite that is local database of phone, and for further analysis and display. INTELLIGENT MONITORING TERMINAL SOFTWARE DESIGN Build Android Development Environment Android application development should first set up the development environment, as follows: Fig 1. Optical fiber sensing monitoring system The sensors is fixed on the monitoring site, sensors measure the data changes at each regular time interval. The raw data, which is calculated by processor,it is transmitted to the optical fiber grating demodulator, and the demodulator processing and saving it. This design is used in multi-channel demodulator, which is the use of advanced computing spectrum analysis technology, and according to the rules of arithmetic to calculate the position of the spectral peak center. Transmission synchronization, demodulation devices regularly send data to the software. When standard transmission transfer data 150 times per second, which is generated once new data every 6.66ms. Software can be request to the demodulator once every 4ms data, then, the data return from demodulator. (1) Configure JDK. First, download the JDK package, click to install. Then configure the java environment variables; (2) Configuration Eclipse. First configure the Android SDK ADT dedicated to Eclipse, then click on "Help-> Install New Software" and select "Add Site", enter in the "Location" dialog box Click on "Install" to install all the Development Tools to find and install; (3) Configure Android SDK, SDK first unzip the downloaded archive, and configuration environment variable. Then open the Eclipse on the menu bar "Preference" option, click the Android tab, open and "SDK Location:" select the unzipped Android SDK directory, click on "Apply", then the Android SDK configuration; (4) Create and run the Android emulator (AVD), select "Eclipse-Windows-Android AVD Manager" in Eclipse, then click new, and set the parameters that you want some of their own, including the JDK version, SD card size, screen size, etc. SD card size is usually set to 512M [2]. The above is an overview of build Android development environment.run Android emulator as shown in Figure 2: 26

Android Emulator The Design Of The Framework Module The client of monitoring system of optical fiber sensing device is mainly used MVC design pattern, namely the model layer, the view layer and the control layer [3]. MVC framework separates the interface display layer from logic code and data processing model layer, the advantage of this design is coupled low, which will help maintain the system, code reuse is high. Applications are independent of each module, and complete their own tasks, which also has laid a good foundation for designed and developed of Android. MVC Framework of applications is shown in Figure 3: (1) The view layer: Android provides a rich of UI components, developers can develop user interfaces conveniently use these components easily. it contains most of UI components in android.widget package and its sub-package. In Android, there are two ways to define the view layer components, one is Layout the XML attributes in the XML file, the second way is to call a method in java program. In this paper, the recommended Android XML layout file to define the interface. (2) The model layer: Operation of the database and network are processed in the model layer. In this paper, we use ContentProvider( ) to share data, do not care about the details of the database and data processing, easy to maintain code. (3) The control layer: For Android, Activity is generally controller, so the user interface and the control is integral. In the application, the listener component and interface display both belongs to the control layer. First Android phone smart terminal establish socket channel with FBG demodulator, the client request to the demodulator, then, the mobile terminals receives data from demodulator. Mobile terminals to interact with the server thought established socket communication channel, part of the code is as follows: Server to establish a connection to the remote server Socket: Socket socket = new Socket (" ", 30000); Client creates a ServerSocket, it is used to listen for connections requests of the client s socket: ServerSocket ss = new ServerSocket (30000); Maintaining the state of the client to monitor: while (true) {...} When the server receives the request from the client s Socket, Upon receiving the request from the client Socket, it will generate a corresponding Socket: Socket s = ss.accept ( ); Then parsing the received data, get the wavelength data.the center wavelength of the data stored in SQLite database. Part of the code to create the database is as follows : Creating a database: SQLiteDatabase db = SQLiteDatabase. openorcreatedatabase ( "/ src / com.fiber.db / fiber_database.db", null); Creating the data table: db.execsql ("create table date_fiber (_id integer, Data_rev varchar (255),CreateDate varchar (50)), data_site varchar (10)"); Add and query data db.execsql ("insert into date_fiber values (null,?,?,?)", New String [] {title, content}); Cursor cursor = db.rawquery ("select * from date_fiber where createdate =?", Null); Users can query the data and the historical curve by selecting date. The data as the SQL query statement. Fiber optic sensing devices intelligent terminal will also monitor the received data. When the received data exceeds the warning area, handsets will send warning signals to a preset phone number, notify the monitoring personnel for processing, ensuring the safe operation of equipment THE EXPERIMENTAL RESULTS FBG monitoring software is tested on Android handsets after completion of the project code editing and debugging. Test process is divided into five parts, namely, login and registration, data collection, query historical data, query history curve, warning function. Specific test procedures and results as follows. First, open the login screen of the FBG monitoring intelligent terminal system, the new user need to register; If you already have an account, you can login directly. this application are validated the username and password, the test results are shown in Figure 5: Fig 5. 5 Click the button of the then begun collecting data, if you want to stop the acquisition, click the button to stop data collection. Click the Back button, the system returns to the sub-function interface. Click the button of select the time to select date which day you want query. This design verify the date that has been chosen, the date of selection can not be empty. After you select the date, click OK, enter the data display interface, you can see the average value, maximum and minimum values of each channel. The functional of the process is shown in Figure 7: test data will be sent the warning message to the phone, informing staff processing operation. CONCLUSIONS FBG sensing monitoring terminal applications run properly is confirmed by experiment, in this paper, it achieved the basic functions designed. the next step, it will be combined with the actual needs of the project to improve functionality. FBG sensing monitoring software can solve the problem of reallife and work which tedious manual operation, location and other aspects of the subject, saving manpower and material resources, it has broad prospects for development.
