1 Driving Directions From Toronto: * Take Highway 401 east to Highway 35/115 * Follow Highway 115 north * At Peterborough, exit at The Parkway * Continue on The Parkway to Lansdowne Street * Turn right (east) on Lansdowne Street * Follow Lansdowne Street to George Street * Turn left (north) on George Street From Ottawa: * Follow Highway 7 west (Lansdowne Street) to George Street * Turn right (north) on George Street immediately following the Peterborough Memorial Centre From Kingston: * Take Highway 401 west to Highway 28 North at Port Hope * Follow Highway 28 north to Highway 115 (just past Kawartha Downs racetrack) * Take Highway 115 east to Peterborough * At Peterborough, exit at The Parkway * Continue on The Parkway to Lansdowne Street * Turn right (east) on Lansdowne Street * Follow Lansdowne Street to George Street * Turn left (north) on George Street There is a visitor parking lot across from the library. To get to our meeting room, enter the library through the main entrance. Go past the circulation desk and go down the main

2 staircase to the lower level. Turn right past the information commons and through the double doors. We are meeting in the Smith Conference Room (Room 107.2). Lunch will be just outside the room. There is also GO service from Toronto Union Station. There is a train to Oshawa with a transfer to a bus to Peterborough. You only need a single ticket and the bus is waiting when the train arrives in Oshawa. On Saturday mornings, train departures are at 7:13 a.m. or 10:13 a.m. with the bus arriving on Trent campus at 9:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., respectively. The bus stop is on the east bank of the campus so you will need to cross the bridge to get to the library. Return buses leave campus at 6:10 p.m. and 10:10 p.m. (or the downtown bus terminal 15 minutes later.) There is also Sunday service for anyone who plans to stay overnight. The first three are located downtown, about 7 km from campus. Here are a few recommended places to eat: The Olde Stone Brewery Brewpub with very decent gastropub food. A favourite of Trent students and faculty. George St. N. Hot Belly Mama s Cajun/Creole food (next door to The Olde Stone Brewery) 380 George St. N. St. Veronus Extensive selection of Belgian beers with interesting Belgian-style food as well. Hunter St. W. Cosmic Charlie s Place looks like it was furnished from a yard sale but the Thai food is outstanding! Charlotte St. Brio Gusto Mediterranean dishes and a great wine list. Only place in the Kawarthas with a Wine Spectator designation 182 Charlotte St.

4 Parkhill on Hunter Upscale Mediterranean/California-fusion restaurant Hunter St. W. 38 Degrees Very good regional cuisine with local ingredients 375 Water St. Hoshi Japanese/Korean with a decent sushi bar 172 Charlotte St. Matsu Sushi Another Japanese/Korean place with a sushi bar. Better than Hoshi but located in East City, across the river from downtown. 107 Hunter St. E. La Hacienda The décor is nothing to get excited about but this is a terrific, authentic Mexican restaurant. Forget Mexicali Rosa s and don t even think about Taco Bell! 190 Hunter St. W. Karma s Café Very good South Asian cuisine. Bills itself as Himalayan but includes a wide range of Asian cuisines, including Thai. 217 Hunter St. W. Elements Spanish-inspired regional cuisine, tapas 140 King St. The Shish-Kabob Hut Decent Greek restaurant 220 King St. Curry Village Part of a small chain but the Indian food is quite good 306 George St. N. The Night Kitchen Excellent selection of gourmet pizzas. Take-out mainly, but they do have a few tables. 229 Hunter St. W.
