1 Summer Holidays 2016 Activities for disabled young people in Cheshire East, Central Cheshire Buddy Scheme, Everybody Sport and Recreation, Cheshire Centre for Independent Living, Oakhanger Project and HANFA (Helping Additional Needs Families) have joined together to put on a summer of activities for disabled young people in Cheshire East.
2 Ages between You must be registered with to attend the activities we provide. Siblings are welcome to all our holiday activities. We only have limited places so please call to book. If you d like to come to our activities but aren t registered already then please get in touch at least 2 weeks before the activity info@friendsforleisure.org.uk Central Cheshire Buddy Scheme Central Cheshire Buddy Scheme is a registered charity no which provides activity clubs, trips and outings for children and young people with disabilities in Cheshire East. CCBS is a commissioned service based at Shavington Youth Centre in Crewe. The venue has been adapted to meet the needs of children and young people with disabilities to encourage and support active play and learning. CCBS will be running a range of activity sessions throughout the summer including a one to one club, Tuesday club and stay and play sessions for children and carers. If you are an existing member of the Buzz Youth Group please laura.dutton@cheshirecil.org or ring before Tuesday 14th July to confirm your attendance. If you wish to register as a new member please contact Melanie Hinde on before Tuesday 24th June. Please note the Buzz Youth Activity Group is a fully inclusive group and parents/carers are not required to attend activity sessions with their young person office@cheshirecil.org Oakhanger Project All ages welcome. Activity and Adventure programmes for children of all ages and their families. We also provide training and support in volunteering and leadership and specialist courses in Canoeing and Kayaking. The Acorn Team provides support for young volunteers ages 14 to 17 and prepares them for leadership in activity and adventure. For further details contact Oakhanger Project or oakchallenge@aol.com Everybody Sport and Recreation Ages All our activities are for all the family to take part with siblings welcome. There s no registration required in advance but will be required to complete a registration form at your first session. Parents are asked to remain on site at the session. For more information or to book a place on our activities please contact Ellie Dick ( ) or Andy Molyneux ( ) ellie.dick@everybody.org.uk HANFA (Helping Additional Needs Families) Children and young people with additional needs aged 8 and up. Volunteers work alongside carers to ensure youngsters are well looked after in a safe and stimulating environment. We run 4 days a week (Tues-Fri) for 4 weeks. Your child/young person can come along for as many days as you wish but we ask you to complete an application form and pre-book dates so that we can ensure we have the right ratio of carers and volunteers to young people. To get to know your child better we ask parents/carers to come to a parents evening before the summer scheme begins. Mobile: Inclusive Cycling HANFA Summer Activities Scheme The fun begins! Join us for activities home and away. Enjoy visits to Rudyard Lake (steam and boat trips), Reaseheath Zoo, Ruby s Fund Sensory Centre, pottery, bowling, canoeing, hands-on animal experiences, reflexology, fun keep-fit, soft play, bouncy castle and lots more. We keep busy, have lots of fun and have something for everyone! Our activities change daily. Come and try out our range of adapted bikes, trikes and tandems, suitable for all ages and abilities. Included in the session will also be time to try out a range of different sporting activities. Wednesday 3rd August 1pm 4pm 2.50 or 5 for the family Cumberland Arena, Thomas Street, Crewe, CW1 2BD. Bug Hunting We will be joined by the staff from Nature Stuff to go bug hunting. We will be leaf sieving, tree shaking, playing games, creating environmental art and much more. Thai Boxing with Team Chongi When you hear that Mark Russell (x4 Professional Thai and Kick Boxing World Champion) is running the activity this week, we are convinced that you won t need to be dragged punching, kicking and screaming. Save that for during the Thai boxing session. As well as some of the techniques Mark learnt during his professional martial arts career, he will show you some fun and easy ways to help your fitness, focus and self-defence.
