2 . Warranty The Venom is a high technology micro-computer that has been precision engineered. EVERY Venom is tested at the factory prior to boxing to ensure It Is within our exacting specifications. Python Injection warrants this unit to be free from manufacturers defects for a period of 12 months. Please note there Is a difference between "defects" and "damage" as used In this warranty. During this period if your Venom Is found to be defective by Python Injection, we at our option will repair or replace the unit sent to us for warranty service. No allowances will be made for labor or other Installation charges. Consequential damages are not covered.. Conditions That WiD Void Warranty The following conditions will void the warranty:. Installation on a vehicle for which the particular part number was not designed.. Opening the Venom case or performing unauthorized modifications to the Venom or its harness.. Damage caused by heat, water I Improper electrical connection, physical damage or Improper Installation.. What Is Included The Venom KIt includes all the necessary parts to perform a professional Installation of the Venom 400 Performance Control Module. Check the contents of the kit prior to beginning installation. If any part of the kit Is missing contact the place of purchase for replacement. The Venom KIt should Include:. The Venom 400 Control Module. Installation manual. WIring harness. Connector splices. Python Stickers. Product and warranty registration card. WIre ties. Adhesive mount bases for wiring harness. Bulb mounting bezel. 3 Amp fuse

3 . Product Registration A product and warranty registration card is included. This card must be filled out and received by Python Injection to activate the waffbnty. If you call for technical assistance during the installation have this Information available.. Installation Requirements Although the Installation of the Venom requires no technical knowledge you should be familiar with how to use basic hand tools. Attaching the connectors requires the use of a pair of pliers to squeeze the connectors Into place. If you choose to mount the LED bulb Into the dash or console a drill and drill bit ~II be required.. Technical Assistance Technical ass/stance regarding the installation process Is available Monday through Friday between 8 A.M. to 5 P.M. Pacific Standard Time. Assistance Is provided directly by Python Injection by ca/jing Be prepared to have your products pan number and serial number ready when ca/jing. Do not call the place of purchase for technical assistance questions.. Precautions Observe the following precautions while installing the Venom:. Never install the Venom or work under the hood of a vehicle with the key on or engine running.. Some engine parts become extremely hot. Use caution when working under the hood.. Once the Venom Is installed never turn the Venom switch on or off while the engine is running. Turn the engine off when activating or deactivating the Venom. Failure to do so can damage the vehicles or Venom electronic components.. Read over the entire instruction manual prior to starting the installation. Familiarize yourself with the procedure. Installation Is very easy if the procedures are followed.

4 . Installation Steps Installing the Venom Kit Is comprised of the following steps:. Locating the module.. Performing the appropriate electrical connections.. Securing the harness.. Installing the LED bulb.. Testing the Venom. Locating The Module The Venom Control Module should be located under the hood. The Venom Module is water resistant. However It should not be located where It may be subjected to direct water spray such as near the front of the engine compartment where water may be present during a rainy condition. Choose a location on the Inside of one of the fenders or against the fire wall. Clean the area with alcohol prior to applying the modules double sided tape to the panel. TECH TIP/ The LED cable harness will have to be routed into the passenger COfTf)8rlment. Teke the time to lay out your installatbn prior to nxjunting the Venom. Think of how the harness will be routed end where the COn1IX>fJents are kjcated that need to be connected. Once all the connectkjns are m8d8 you shoukt mount the Venom and secure the harness. You shouki conskjer the length of the LED harness to ensure you can reech your desllnatkjn point. The Following are nqt suitable locations for the Venom Module:. On the inside of the hood.. On the engine or radiator. '. Near the exhaust manifolds or pipes.. Near the radiator over flow bottle.. Near the washer fluid reservoir.. Near the battery.. Near rotating engine parts.. Near the steering column or linkages. Avoid routing the Venom's harness near the following components. Electrical noise from these items could Interfere with the operation of the Venom Control Module.. Ignition coil(s), distributor or spark plug wires.. Alternator or moving engine parts.

5 . Installing the Electrical C'onnections Installation of the Venom's harness usually requires four connections to the vehicles electrical system, they are:. Power (+V).. Ground.. Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) signal wire.. Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor (MAP) signal wire OR the Mass Air Flow Sensor (MAF) signal wire. Power and ground connections are covered in this section. The sensor connections are covered in the "Sensor Connections" on the inside back page.. Connecting power to the Venom's RED wire. The Venom's red wire should be connected directly to the vehicles positive battery terminal. The end of the Red wire has an eyelet that will connect directly to the vehicles Positive battery terminal lug. The Venom draws approximately 10 mlill-amps at all times. This is about as much as the clock in the vehicle. If you drive your vehicle at least once a month the Venom will not draw the battery below starting capability. If you store your vehicle for extended lengths of time you may wish to install a switch in line with the Venom's red wire prior to the fuse connection. You may also connect the Venom's Red wire to a switched power source from the Ignition switch.. Connecting the ground to the Venom's BLACK wire. The Venom's Black wire should be connected directly to the vehicles negative battery terminal or a chassis ground. The end of the Black wire has an eyelet that will connect directly to the vehicles negative battery terminal lug. 7ECH TIPI Do not completely renx>ve the battery tem1/nals to connect the terminal eyelets. Some vehk:/es may exhibit a s/kjht driveabi/ity problem until the computer has relearned the vehk:les parameters. 6 . Securing The Harness Use the supplied wire harness ties and adhesive mount bases to secure the harness. Ensure that the harness Is not routed to closely to any rotating engine parts or parts that get hot enough to melt the cable insulation. Also see Locating The Module for other precautions. TECH TIP! Using a split kjom harness to enckjse the separate power, ground and sensor wiras ackis a professkjnal touch. This harness rorn Is available for a nominal expense at any kx:al parts store.. Installing The LED The led bulb indicates when the Venom is active. The Venom module has a disable switch. When switched so the "I" is down the Venom is disabled. The vehicle is restored back to Its original configuration. When switched so the "0" is down the Venom only becomes active when under moderate to heavy acceleration and load conditions. During normal to light driving the Venom monitors the vehicles sensors and remains inactive until it senses the proper time to become active. This maintains original fuel economy when the extra po\ver is not needed. You may install the led Into the dash panel or center console. The connector kit Includes an led Bezel that will hold the led In the hole and the panel. A 1/4" hole will need to be drilled into the panel in which the LED will be mounted.. Testing The Venom To test the Venom press the "0" on the switch located on the top of the module. Start the Ignition and drive the vehicle. Under heavy acceleration the led light should come on Indicating the Venom is active. You will notice an Increase in performance and responsiveness. With the switch in the disable position ("I" pressed down) the LED light should remain off during all vehicle operating conditions. If the Venom does not operate as described recheck all the electrical connections. If problems still persist call Python's Customer support at for assistance.
