I don t know about you but the summertime heat is about too much for me! Jeff was a sweetheart and cleaned up the vette for me this week. I dirtied it up when I went to Ft. Smith and it s been sitting dirty in the garage since then because I didn t want to get out in the heat to clean it up. We took a little ride around town yesterday evening with the top down and the air conditioning just a blowing! Yes, I m a wimp! Let s hope our car show will have good cool weather! I keep seeing more and more Vette s out on the road around here. I carry my club cards with me and when I see a Vette sitting at a restaurant or shopping mall, I leave a card on the car. I encourage you to do the same. We have only one more meeting until our car show. If you have collected any door prizes, please bring them with you to the meeting. I have reserved the two back rooms at Monte Ne Inn for dinner after the car show. More information about that will be shared at the August meeting. I look forward to seeing you at the August meeting and the car show! There will be a hospitality event Friday evening for members and guests at our host hotel, Homewood Suites on Walnut Street in Rogers. Our show will begin at 8AM on Saturday and continues until the judging is complete and awards are handed out (approximately 2 to 3 PM). Please plan on helping and supporting your club on this weekend. Bring your corvettes and speak to Al Fischer or one of the show committee chairpersons to help. Chevrolet of Fayetteville plans to bring several Corvettes for sale and pricing will be very good. Please begin gathering your door prizes for our show. We should have a Thank You letter for businesses that donate items by our next meeting.

3 From the Corvette Museum VIP TOUR How would you like to see the GM Bowling Green Corvette Assembly Plant while on your very own VIP private tour? Well, let The National Corvette Museum help make your dream come true! The V.I.P. tours will last for 3-5 hours which includes the GM Bowling Green Corvette Assembly Plant and The National Corvette Museum. Tours of the Assembly Plant are more indepth and include portions not included in the regular tours. You will be required to view a safety video of the plant and sign a Confidentiality Agreement form. You will not be following any certain car during the tour of the plant. Once the plant tour is completed you will then meet your tour guide at The National Corvette Museum. The Museum has a Corvette Café on site if you choose to take a break and have lunch. Your guided tour of the Museum will take you on a stroll through Corvette s history, its racing heritage, and give you a glimpse at the Corvette Lifestyle. The V.I.P Tour also includes a behind the scenes look at the National Corvette Museum Delivery and prep area where all of the Museum delivery cars are detailed and inspected before the new owners come for their scheduled delivery. Price of tours: $ Group Size: Up to four people in a group. Additional Persons $50.00 each Start Time: The tours will start at 8:00 a.m. CT. Your tour will begin at the Museum. You will receive an confirming your tour date once it has been approved. Plant Tour Time: Approximately two and a half hours. (Some restrictions could apply) Museum Tour Time: Approximately one and a half hours. Advanced Notice: At least a forty eight hour advanced notice is required. The GM Bowling Green Assembly Plant is located just off of Interstate 65 at Exit 28. The Plant and the Museum are visible as you exit. At the first traffic light (Corvette Drive) turn RIGHT for the Plant Turn LEFT for the Museum. Please dress comfortably. The only dress code requirements are that you wear closed toe shoes. You are not allowed to bring the follow items into the Plant: Cameras Cell Phones Electronic Devices Backpacks / Purses (only for medical reasons) Children Under The Age Of Seven (7) SPECIAL LIMITED TIME DISCOUNT! For the first time ever, the Corvette Museum is offering a discount on V.I.P. Corvette Plant and Museum tours! Guests who book and use their tour by July 15 will save $50 off the regular price! UPDATE: The discount has been extended to August 26, Book now and save! Regular price of tours is $250 and includes up to four people in a group. Special pricing now until August 26 is $200. 4 NWACC Meeting News July 12, 2010 Meeting was called to order by President Sharon Bell at 7:00pm. She extended a welcome to all in attendance for the meeting. There were 45 members and one visitor present. President Sharon recognized all July birthdays and anniversaries. The Corvette birthday song was sung to all. There was one visitor in attendance, and he joined the club this evening: Randy O Laughlin (new member) A motion was made to accept the June Secretary s Report as reported in the club newsletter. The motion was seconded, and passed. Treasurer s report was read by Anne Whitefield. Motion was made to accept the report as read. The motion was seconded and passed. It was reported that Willy & Loren Barry have purchased a 2008 Corvette. No other new car purchases were reported. OLD BUSINESS Club Cruises: The NWA Corvette Club Amazing Race on June 19 th was a great cruise! Thanks to Vikki & Brad Cunningham, Mary & Kenneth Clayton, Anne & Briggs Whitefield, and Sharon & Jeff Bell for making it a fun day for all. o 1 st Place Eric & Allie Elliott o 2 nd Place Sandy & Steve Larson o 3 rd Place Sam & Rick Briscoe Lutrecia Church will lead a cruise to Chicken Mary s in Pittsburg, KS on Saturday, 7/17. The cruise was announced at tonight s meeting. There are currently NO club cruises planned for July or August. If you are interested in leading a cruise, please contact Sharon Bell. Smith Car Show Two cars from our club were in attendance. Overall attendance was down at the show this year. 5 Memorial for Bob Harbit the club voted and it was determined that we will purchase a memorial brick for Bob at the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, KY. Donations were taken from members at the meeting tonight, and donations will also be taken at the August meeting for those who wish to contribute but were not in attendance at the July meeting. NEW BUSINESS Summer s End Car Show: Summers End Car Show will be held Saturday, August 28 th at the Pinnacle Hills Promenade. There will be a hospitality suite at the hotel on Friday, August 27 th for guests to pre-register, pick up packets, etc. Registration is $30/car, $15/each additional car if registered by August 20 th. There will be an additional $5 fee for registering after August 20 th. Proceeds from the car show will benefit our club charities: Circle of Life Hospice, and The Children s Advocacy Center. Please start gathering items that can be used as door prizes. Al Fischer has prepared a letter that you may give to businesses when soliciting donations. Awards will be immediately after judging on Aug 28 th (approximately 3pm). Volunteers are needed to help with car show parking, event set-up & tear-down, Friday hospitality at the hotel, Friday banner/sign placement, etc. Show is sponsored by Chevrolet of Fayetteville. There was a discussion as to possibly organizing a short cruise for club members and car show guests to Monte Ne Inn for dinner after the show on Saturday. More details will be discussed at the next meeting. Club members may pre-register cars and purchase t-shirts as well. A motion was made to adjourn the meeting at 7:45pm.
