4 1 Guide to Viewing epub Documents on Android-Powered Background Flowchart The recommended Android-powered terminals for ebook reading are pad devices. Although Android-powered phones support ebook reading, its screen size and resolution cannot ensure optimal display of pictures. This guide uses Huawei Mediapad, which runs on Android OS, as an example to describe how to view epub documents on Android-powered devices. The following figure shows how to get your Mediapad ready for reading epub documents. 1

5 Start Connect the Mediapad to the Internet. Install the Aldiko reader. Log in to Huawei Support website to download the required epub doc. Ensure that the file extension is.epub and remember the document save path. Use the Aldiko reader to open the downloaded epub document to begin reading. End Operation Procedure The following describes the steps for getting your Mediapad ready for reading epub documents: Step 1 Connect your Mediapad to the Internet. Step 2 Install the Aldiko reader. Aldiko is the recommended epub reader on the Mediapad. You can enter Aldiko in the search box of Google to search for it in the Internet, and then down download it from an appropriate website. If Aldiko has already been installed on your Mediapad, skip this step. Step 3 Log in to Huawei Support website to download required epub documents. Use a registered user account to access through the Tiantian Browser pre-installed on your Mediapad or any browser you have installed. After the login, choose Pigeon Action for Documentation > Documentation Delivery. Click the required epub document to download it to your Mediapad. 2

6 Step 4 Confirm the file extension of the document and remember the document save path. The following figure assumes that the Tiantian Browser is used to download the document. After you click the document, the Download notification dialog box is displayed for confirmation. Verify that the file extension is.epub. If it is not, directly change it to.epub and then click Ok. When the download is complete, the document name and save path are displayed at the bottom of the window. 3

7 Step 5 Open the epub document using the Aldiko reader. 1. Start the Aldiko reader and click the Files icon. 2. Find the epub document in the save path. 4

8 3. Click the epub document you just downloaded. Two options are displayed: Open and Import to Aldiko. You are advised to choose Import to Aldiko, so you can view the document directly in the Aldiko in future instead of opening it in the document save path each time. If you choose Open, the document will be opened immediately. If you choose Import to Aldiko, your Mediapad will automatically switch to the following interface when the import is complete. In this interface, you can click the epub document to read it. ----End 5
