1 GRABBER EXTRA TOUGH This green extra tough mouthing therapy tool is constructed of a non toxic medical grade, latex FREE material, that is chewy and resilient. Designed for individuals who need to exert lots of pressure, yet need the opportunity for jaw movement, tongue movement, and oral exploration as well. The handle makes it easy for little hands to hold and manipulate. $8 Material and color are FDA approved and made in the USA. Specially designed with no holes or crevices that could harbor bacteria or saliva.use with adult supervision. SUPER CHEW CHEWY TUBE Textured! The Super Chew has a closed loop handle to facilitate an easy grip and a textured stem for practicing biting and chewing skills for those who desire more sensory stimulation. Intended for individual use, it is non-toxic, latex free and lead free. In addition, the Super Chew does not contain PVC or phthalates and its color is FDA-approved. Lasts for thousands of chews. However, inspection is recommended before each use. Replace when signs of wear become visible. Washable with soap and water. Lasts for thousands of chews! Chewy Tubes are an innovative oral motor device designed to provide a resilient, non food, chewable surface for practicing biting and chewing skills. Intended for individual use, Chewy Tubes are non toxic, latex free and lead free. In addition they do not contain PVC or phthalates and their colors are FDA approved. $8 $8 To use, the long stem (3/8" diameter) is placed laterally in the mouth, so the user can bite down on the stem. The handle portion has corrugated ridges to assist with grasping. The yellow Chewy Tube is used for individuals with a smaller jaw typically an infant (9 10 months) or a younger child, or for an individual who cannot open his/her jaw very wide. In addition, the narrower, yellow Chewy Tube is used initially in treatment with children who are very defensive about oral tactile stimulation. Chewy Tubes last for thousands of chews. However, inspection is recommended before each use. Replace when signs of wear become visible. Washable with soap and water. 1
2 CHEWABLE PENCIL TOPPER Made of clear, non toxic, medical grade plastic, it fits tightly onto the end of a pencil but because it is an inch shorter, it is less noticeable. $2.50 Custom made to fit on standard pencils (and most pens), just slide it snugly down onto the eraser end of a pencil about 1" and there will be approximately 2" of tubing left (extending from the end of the pencil) to chew on. CHEWLERY NECKLACE Using stretchable, non toxic Chewlery is a great way to keep kids from chewing on their clothes, while letting them work through their chewing tendencies. Also great for oral motor stimulating activities. $9 Available in bright unisex colors: fire engine red, yellow, orange, emerald green, dark purple, royal blue or white. 6 1/4" or 16 cm diameter. Use with adult supervision. SENSORY BRUSH The sensory brush, also known as the "corn brush" is firm and is the preferred brush for the Wilbarger Protocol brushing program. Ideal for clinic or home use. For specific brushing techniques, speak with an occupational therapist. $5 TANGLER $5 Great fidget! It's a toy. It's a puzzle. It's a stress reliever. It's a knot. And it's just the right size for the palm of your hand. Twist it, turn it, shape it, and swivel it to quiet the brain, achieve tranquility, and relax. Sections can be pulled apart, separated, made into smaller "rings" or joined together with other Tangles for even more tangled fun and to increase finger dexterity. 2
3 WEIGHTED BLANKETS This small size weighs 3 lbs. and measures 15" x 21". When not in use, it can be stored in a desk or backpack. Its portability also makes it a hit for more relaxing rides in the car for everyone. Made of first quality 100% cotton flannel and backed with anti pill polar fleece Lined to increase durability Filled with tumbled aggregate that allows for hand washing when necessary Line drying recommended to keep fabric from wearing out No tubes to remove Blankets are actually quilted to keep inner material in place and evenly distributed Conforms to every shape Weighted blankets aid in providing proprioceptive feedback while relaxing the body and central nervous system. Weight and deep pressure can be highly beneficial to some children with ASD, Sensory Integration Disorder, ADHD, and other neurological disorders. The added weight or pressure may help the child calm down and better integrate sensory information. As a result, the child may become more organized, and improve in their ability to concentrate on play, learning, or eating. These blankets can be used as adaptive aids during learning times at school, quiet times at home, school, clinic, or office and to assist in falling asleep. People of all ages enjoy relaxing under these wonderful blankets. How much weight do I need? For children, most Occupational Therapists recommend starting with a weight that is generally 10% of your child's body weight. For an adult, starting with an 8 lb. blanket is recommended. For an elderly adult, a 5 lb. blanket is probably the heaviest they will want. When is the best time to use it? The blanket can be used throughout the day in many different ways. It can calm a person during the day as well as help him or her to relax and fall into a deeper, more restful sleep in the evening or during naptimes. Do I leave it on my child all night? It is recommended that you remove the blanket after your child has fallen asleep and place a regular blanket over him or her. Older children and adults will just throw the blanket off during the night when their body has had enough deep pressure. My child hates new things. How can I get him to try this? Leave the blanket on the sofa and let him discover it on his own. Let your child see you using the blanket, and tell him how good it feels. Let him try it on his own in his own time. Bedtime is a great time to introduce a weighted blanket, but don't be discouraged if he rejects it at first. Since there are great differences in how each child responds to weight and pressure, it is very important to use this product with adult supervision and the guidance of a therapist familiar with sensory integration. 4 WEIGHTED/PRESSURE VESTS maximum for your vest. If your torn between using a pressure vest or weighted vest, here's the solution. A weighted pressure vest. Use it with or without weights depending on the response of your child or recommendation of your Occupational Therapist. This vest comes with 2-6 weight pockets built into the front section and 2-6 weight pockets built into the back section. (depends on size) Each vest comes with 4-12 weight packets totaling 1.5 to 6 pounds. The weight packets are removable allowing you to "mix and match" to achieve the desired amount of weight up to a Measure your child carefully, around the chest and waist. Use the largest of these measurements to select the size. Also measure from the top of the shoulder to the hip. If your child is between sizes, order the larger. There is a lot of flexibility in the fit. Use the size chart below when ordering. Size Chest/Waist Length (from top of shoulder to hip) Weight X SM $85 SMALL $85 MED $95 LARGE $105 Extra Small 20 to lbs wgt Small 25 to to 19 3 lbs wgt Medium 31 to to 23 4 lbs wgt Large 37 to to 27 6 lbs wgt 4
5 WIGGLE/BALANCE SEAT Exercise and balance discs have a dual use. They can be used for sitting to give you the same benefits as sitting on an exercise ball. They are used in exercise to provide an unstable surface, forcing you to use more muscles to remain balanced thus getting a more complete workout. $25 Parents and teachers also report great success using them as a "wiggle seat" to help calm children who have a hard time sitting still. Features: 14" in diameter by 3" high Comes inflated at a level suitable for most uses, so a pump is not included. However, for those who want to add more pressure, we offer an optional low cost Needle Nose Pump, sold separately Made of the same material as a gym ball Available in 10 colors A true alternative to sitting on an exercise ball Popularly used as a "wiggle seat" to help calm children who have a hard time sitting still Perfect for seniors and chronic back pain sufferers to use in therapy, at home or even the office Sit on chair, lay on the floor, stand with 1 or 2 feet Can be used on either the smooth or textured surfaces Enhance weight training by standing on two discs Do sit-ups, lunges, deep knee bends, push-ups or leg lifts One of the best core stabilization devices available 5
