PTO FUNDRAI$ER$: These fundraisers do not require much effort on our part as a school. They do, however, have the potential to earn a considerable amount of money for opportunities for our children. Target: Take Charge of Education Signing up for the Target REDCard is a win-win for everyone. Every time you use the card at Target, you will receive 5% off your purchases and Westfall gets 1% of your total purchase. Sign up today at Don t forget to designate Westfall- School ID General Mills Box Tops for Education Clip the coupons on General Mills, Betty Crocker, and numerous other products and turn them in to your child s teacher. Each coupon means CASH for Westfall Elementary, 10 cents for each Box Top! Last year Westfall families raised over $5000 which helps purchase new playground equipment. Encourage your friends and family to save Box Tops as well. Also earn money for Westfall by starting your online shopping at the btfe.com website. We earn ebox Tops from your purchase when you launch your shopping from the Box Tops Marketplace. Inkjet Cartridges There are drop-off containers in the teachers workroom for your used inkjet cartridges. Please place these cartridges in plastic bags before depositing them into the containers. Ask your place of employment or other resources for their cartridges as well. We use these to get gift cards for our teachers during their Box Tops contest. Office Depot Please designate Westfall as your school of choice when you shop at Office Depot year round. We earn up to 5% of qualifying purchases. Use the Westfall School ID # and Office Depot will grant 5% credits to our school. OTHER We will have other fundraisers throughout the year, such as Skate Nights (Sept 30 and Feb 10) as well as product sales (t-shirts, magazines, chocolate bunnies, etc.). We try to keep the fundraisers to as few as possible, but we need them to raise funds for the school programs that the PTO supports. The monies raised from all PTO-sponsored fundraisers go right back into your child s school! Thank you again for your support! General Mills
My name is Darla Hotella and I m thrilled to be the Box Tops Coordinator for Westfall. Clipping Box Tops is an easy way for you to help our school buy new playground equipment. Box Tops are each worth 10 and they quickly add up to real cash for our school. This school year, our school s earnings goal is $5200. To help our school, just look for pink Box Tops on products, clip them, and send them to school. For more information on the Box Tops for Education program, including a list of participating products and our school s progress, visit Be sure to become a member to receive exclusive coupons and recipes and learn about extra ways for our school to earn. Our first Box Tops contest is Box Tops Wars on Sept If you have any questions, please don t hesitate to contact me. I m here to make our school s Box Tops for Education program a huge success this year. Thanks for your help! Darla Hotella
WHY JOIN THE PTO? The Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO) Constitution states that the purpose of the organization is to encourage relations between home and school by involving members of the community in the education of all children. What that means is your child s school experience would be less than what you desire and expect without the support that parents/caretakers offer both directly to your children and to the school and its program. PTO is for the kids, with the goal of making their educational experience as rewarding as possible. Joining the PTO is as much of a commitment as you yourself make it. We won t call you for help unless you have signed up or expressed a desire to help. Becoming a member simply shows your support of your child s education and provides a small amount of funding for valuable programs. One major function of the PTO is fundraising. The profits we all help earn (through your membership fee and other fundraisers) support more programs and activities than you might think, including: - Major school purchases in the past we have purchased computers, software, printers, copy machines, other technology items, playground equipment, a paved walking track, PE, and music equipment - Accelerated Reader Program awards - College scholarships for former Westfall students - End-of-the-year awards - Super Kids Day - Teacher classroom supplies - Special Olympics - Teacher Appreciation Week - Fifth grade graduation - Parties for Membership Drive and other incentive programs - Conflict Managers Rewards - Principal s Reading Challenge See the proposed budget located in this packet for more details about what this year s funds will support. EVERY Westfall student benefits from at least one PTO-sponsored program. Show your support by joining today.
Dear Parents: If we can get every Westfall Elementary parent to commit just 2 Hours to helping out, we can do amazing things for our kids and our school. Will you please take the 2 Hour Involvement Pledge? We ve started using a program called 2-Hour Power that emphasizes that all help, any help, makes a huge difference for schools. The research is so clear kids at schools with a broad base of involved parents perform markedly better on all kinds of key school measures. As you ll see from the enclosed Interest Survey & Pledge Form, we d love to help you get involved in any way that works for your schedule and interests. What would you like to do? When would you like to do it? We d like to work with you to make sure all parents can pitch in. Involvement is for everyone. We d love your 2 Hours, and -- Really! We promise! there s no obligation beyond helping out in this small but important way. If you d like to do more great, but we know that s not a fit for everyone. Participating in our 2 Hour Power program is easy. Simply complete the enclosed Interest Survey & Pledge Form and return it to school with your child. We ll then be in touch with you about opportunities that fit your interests and availability. Together, we can make a huge difference at our school! As always, please feel free to call or if you have any questions or concerns. Thanks in advance, Melissa Coulter mcoulter@cnpschools.org Volunteer Coordinator, Westfall Elementary

PTO MEMBERSHIP Our goal is 100% participation. This means that each family is encouraged to join PTO. Each class that is successful in having every student represented will enjoy a NACHO PARTY provided by the PTO. Anyone can join: parents, grandparents, uncles and aunts. Anyone else that is interested in supporting our school can also join. There is absolutely no obligation involved when joining PTO, but your help in making Westfall a better place is encouraged. Membership fee is $3.00 PER HOUSEHOLD. FRIDAY SNACKS PTO will offer a weekly Friday snack again this year. The cost of Friday snacks is $15.00 for the year pre-paid or 50 cents each week. By pre-paying, you won t have to remember 50 cents every Friday, and your child will not be disappointed by not getting a snack. It is also slightly cheaper to pay for the whole year at once. The snack money benefits Westfall students by providing scholarships to Westfall alumni who are graduating seniors of Choctaw High School. We do need helpers to distribute the snack on these days, so please agree to help one to two hours on a Friday morning sometime during the year! T-SHIRTS T-Shirts are on sale for $10. T-shirts will be green showing Charlie the Yellow Jacket on a tractor supporting our theme for the new year. We wear our school t-shirts on Fridays to Westfall Rising. Help show your school spirit by placing your order now. Growing Greatness Westfall..Where seeds are planted and students blossom.
