Children in grades pre-k through high school presented weeks worth of work to the crowds of parents and visitors last month. Guests were treated to a World Tour without ever grabbing their passports. The trip began with the Kindergarteners presentation of France. Ms. Clavelle (Mrs. Schufelt) and her class of Madelines and Pepito led the guests through the Lascaux Caves, past the Eiffel Tower and through the halls of the Louvre to see the impressionist paintings of Degas and Monet. Ms. Kelly s 1/2 class invited us into their very own fairytale adventures. Rapunzel, Red Riding Hood and the Wood Cutter, Jack and his beanstalk, Thumbelina's kitty cat and one little pig were all there to present their twist on the classic tales. Mrs. Clark s 3/4 class studied South Africa indepth and then reported on their own African country. It was a tasty trip with various food samplings from across the continent. Mrs. Root s 3/4 class took us to Greece and Japan. And again we were treated to authentic food including hand- rolled sushi! Mr. Shafi and Ms. Bufano s classes showed us a paper mâché dragon, a Buddhist temple, and the great wall of China. The 7th and 8th graders took a different route on the world tour and presented, Who Do you Think You Are? Students followed their ancestral roots and reported on the history and culture within their own family trees. Dates to Remember: 3/9 12:30 DISMISSAL 3/19 ANNUAL AUCTION 3/24 TALENT SHOW 3/25 CLOSED/GOOD FRIDAY 4/4-4/8 STANDARDIZED TESTING 4/11-4/15 SPRING VACATION 4/20 LION KING SHOW You Wouldn t Want to Be A was the theme for Mrs. Culver s class projects. The class offered visitors the chance to have their photo taken as a Roman Gladiator, a Mammoth Hunter and other historical characters. The High Schoolers ended the world tour with their 25 Hour Projects. The night was a huge success.

7 Manatee Trip A group of 5th through 8th graders went to Florida last month to swim with the manatees. The Manatee trip was exhilarating, refreshing, and very cold! Most people wrapped themselves up in tinfoil blankets on the boats to stay warm. Although it was freezing, everyone had a great time and a fund experience with the manatees!
