1 Access Express TM v5.2 Quick Tips Guide New Features in the Access Express System SCCIPA is excited to announce that effective Monday, July 22, 2013, the Access Express (AE) system has three new features as part of the new v5.2 release. These include: (1) a new member search screen that provides faster and easier access to members demographic and clinical data, (2) updated diagnosis and procedure screens for the upcoming ICD-10, October 2014 implementation, and (3) an alternate landing page that allows users to change the first screen they see upon logging in to the system. Each of these features is described in more detail below. 1) Quick Tips for the New Member Search Sign in to Access Express by following a few simple steps. 1. Launch Internet Explorer. 2. Enter the URL into the Web browser: The Access Express Sign On screen displays. 3. Type the User Name and press tab. 4. Type the Password. 5. Click Submit. Page 1 of 9
2 a. Main Menu and Side Menu Changes for Member Search v5.1 New in v5.2 In Access Express version 5.2, the Eligibility link under the Inquiry section of the Side Menu has changed to Member. Similarly, the Eligibility link on the Main Menu has also changed to Member. The related description enclosed in parentheses now appears as Look up Eligibility rather than Look up member. Now, click the Member link to access the Member Search screen. Page 2 of 9
3 b. Changes to Search Options for Member Search v5.1 v5.2 The SEARCH ELIGIBILITY screen is renamed as the MEMBER SEARCH screen. This screen now displays the fields that are primarly used by physicians and their staff, making it easier to locate a member. The button displays many of the search fields that were available under Option II in the prior version of Access Express, such as the PCP and Health Plan. To search for member: 1. Enter the applicable search criteria in the Search Member screen. 2. Click the button. The Select Member screen displays, as shown in the example on the following page. Page 3 of 9
4 c. Select Member Screen Changes Access Express v5.2 Quick Tips Guide v5.1 v5.2 The Select Member screen now includes the member s age and phone number. Hyperlinks now allow quick access to the member s clinical data, such as Clinical History and Authorizations. Page 4 of 9

Member Status Alerts Access Express v5.2 Quick Tips Guide Member Health Alert (high blood pressure) View Member Status Alerts Clicking a Member Status Alert link from the Select Member screen displays a pop-up window with alerts for the selected member. The alerts appear in three sections Member Health Alerts, which now consist of Member Alerts and Member Health Notes; Quality Measure Alerts; and Case Management Alerts. The alert links display only if the related information is available. Clicking a Member Health Alert link from the pop-up window takes the user directly to the member s alerts. Page 5 of 9
6 Clicking a Quality Measure Alert link from the pop-up window takes the user directly to the Pay for Performance (P4P) Dashboard, bypassing the Selected Member screen, and allowing the user to view the member s quality measures. Quality Measures Page 6 of 9
7 e. Clinical History Clicking the View Clinical History link from the Select Member screen takes the user directly to the member s Continuity of Care Document (CCD). Note: Only users who have been granted access to the CCD will see the View Clinical History link on the Select Member screen. f. Health Plan Information Placing the mouse pointer on the Health Plan Info link displays additional health plan information, such as the member s effective and termination dates. Page 7 of 9
8 2) Updated Diagnosis and Procedure Screens v5.1 v5.2 The v5.2 Select Diagnosis screen now includes Effective and Term Dates, as well as a Code Type to allow users to search by either ICD-9 or ICD-10 codes. Inactive codes may also be included or excluded from search results. These changes also apply to the Select Procedure screen. To search for a diagnosis code: 1. Enter either the ICD-9 or ICD-10 code or a general description of the condition, and click the button. The search results display. 2. If applicable, click the Include Inactive Codes check box to include inactive codes in the search results. 3. To filter search results by Code Type, click 4. Select either ICD9 or ICD10 from the dropdown list. 5. Click the Search button to display search results. Page 8 of 9
9 3) Quick Tips for the Alternate Landing Page The Alternate Landing Page allows users to change the first screen they see upon logging in to Access Express. To do this, access the Preferences screen in Access Express by clicking Support from the Side Menu and then selecting Preferences. The Preferences screen displays. Preferences screen (bottom portion) Click here To change the landing page from the Main Menu to an alternate landing page, follow the steps below: 1. From the Preferences screen, scroll down to the Miscellaneous section. 2. Click the drop-down arrow next to the Alternate Landing Page option. 3. Make a selection from the drop-down list. 4. Click the button at the bottom of the Preference screen to save the new alternate landing page. Note: The new landing page displays the next time the user logs in to AE. To set the landing page back to the Main Menu, simply select the Drop-down list option from the Alternate Landing Page drop-down list and then click Submit. Note: The News section displays only from the Main Menu. Check this page periodically for updates. Page 9 of 9
