1 Position Number 411, 412 Title Events Marketing Coordinator Classification 4 Section/Unit Public Engagment/ Relationship Fundraising Reports to Events Marketing Manager Location 1 x Sydney, 1 x Brisbane or Melbourne Employment Basis Permenant Hours of Work 35 hours per week Suitable for Job Share Yes On Call Duties No Date Last Reviewed Created September 2015 Position Description Scope of Position The Fundraising units and teams within the Public Engagement section is responsible for increasing and enhancing the range of opportunities for the Australian community to financially support the work of Oxfam Australia. The Events Marketing Coordinator is responsible for developing and implementing strategies and tactics to drive participation (individual and corporate) across the Events portfolio nationally. Working closely with the Fundraising Coordinators, working proactively to ensure a quality supporter experience, increased participation and higher retention, higher corporate support (participation, sponsorship, inter-industry competition and matched giving) and other initiatives including supporting volunteering recruitment to grow net income across the Events portfolio. They will also contribute to leveraging the Events portfolio, to build the life time value of the supporter base for Oxfam Australia. This position plays an important role in ensuring that all of Oxfam s fundraising events positively and accurately reflect the work, values, and vision of Oxfam Australia. 1. Key Responsibilities 1.1 Contribute to the development of the Events portfolio three year strategic plan and annual business plan to maximize income from the current experiential events portfolio and drive growth through new product development. 1.2 Support the Events Marketing Manager with Implementation of the Marketing and Product Development Strategy to drive acquisition, including the development and implementation 1.3 Project manage the implementation and contribute to the development of the segmented Supporter Journey including distribution of s, liaise with internal stakeholders such as the database, web, and customer service teams to ensure that communications are accurate and timely.

2 1.4 Monitor ongoing performance of the Marketing Strategy, and implement the promotional activities providing detailed analysis of results, including performance against registration targets, recommending areas for improvement and identify avenues for further development 1.5 With support from the Events Marketing Manager, work with external agencies and the internal communications team in the preparation, implementation and delivery of a measurable promotional and advertising plan (leveraging both paid and CSA space) to drive EOIs and support the Fundraising team with the Implementation of the conversion strategy by creating tools to empower the team to drive convert seamlessly to registrations. 1.6 Working with the Digi-Coms team, project manage events marketing and communications including the preparation of briefs for communications and content, digital assets and printed materials (e.g., Map Books, Fundraising Kits) to deliver these assets in a timely manner across all channels, to drive acquisitions, reduce attrition and increase retention. 1.7 Implementation of the social media strategy including report on and benchmark the performance of social media with a view to continuous improvement in e- communications. 1.8 Manage documentation of relevant processes across the Events team including data extractions and the transition across to marketing automation. 1.9 Implement market research activities both within supporters surveys and the wider market, to improve targeting as well as monitoring general industry and competitor trends Host webinars including National Online Information Nights and support the Fundraising Coordinators to host events with, participants and EOIs, key Corporates including the preparations of presentations to drive registration, share information/reduce risk, inspire fundraising and acknowledge achievement within the Events portfolio, 1.11 Oversee the website portfolio and coordinate communications content across s, blogs, video, website and social media and work with the communications team to deliver content that drives acquisitions, reduce attrition and increase retention and a stronger fan community across Events Working with the Events Operations Manager, uncover sponsorable and operationally deliverable marketing assets across the Events portfolio, prepare saleable sponsorship packages and play a leading role, working closely with the Relationship Fundraising Unit, Corporate and Community Partnerships Team to convert cash and strategic In Kind sponsorship Working with the Events Fundraising Manager and Events Marketing Manager to develop and implementation of a Corporate Engagement Strategy including preparation of corporate engagement tools to empower and support the team to build stronger relationship, increased corporate participation and increased corporate competition within Events Work with the Events Fundraising team to develop fundraising tools and resources that drive fundraising including online tools or competitive programs that drive fundraising across participants and corporate participants to support the Events Fundraising Coordinators in maximising the fundraising potential Lead on the stewardship, engagement and solicitation, with support of the Event Fundraising Coordinators, of existing and prospective Events corporate supporters Page 2 of 5

3 aiming to uplift participation rates, fundraising amounts, sponsorship and match giving these accounts year on year Record all interactions with Corporate supporters on the agency s supporter database (Raiser s Edge) to ensure an accurate history of supporter engagement is maintained 1.17 Build co-promotional partnerships with complimentary organisations and event organisers (e.g., fun runs, sports events, trade shows etc) and the preparation of a calendar of opportunities to drive EOIs Monitor general industry and market trends, interpret and share how they can be used to improve Oxfam Fundraising Events 1.19 Other related duties as delegated 2. Budget 2.1 Contribute to the development of income targets and monitor expenditure against budget for the event/project. 3. Policy 3.1 The position has no responsibility for the development of organisational policy. 4. Human Resources 4.1 The position has no responsibility for the supervision of paid staff but may be required to recruit, train and supervise volunteers 4.2 Required to undertake job responsibilities in a manner consistent with equity, diversity, child safe and staff health and wellbeing policies and procedures 4.3 Monitor workload and work environment and take reasonable steps to minimise risks to self and others 5. Knowledge & Experience 5.1 Experience of event fundraising or community fundraising and fundraising strategies, tactics, practices, techniques and trends. 5.2 Experience in developing and implementing marketing / communication plans 5.3 Experience in developing and implementing social media and online community development strategies (e.g., forums) 5.4 Experience in public speaking/presentations 5.5 Knowledge of overseas aid and community development issues (desirable) 5.6 Proven success in developing and building strategic relationships 5.7 Experience in direct marketing and/or sales 5.8 Demonstrated ability to liaise with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. 4 5.9 High levels of computer literacy particularly MS Office and experience working with marketing database software (familiarity with Raisers Edge highly regarded) 5.10 Knowledge of overseas aid and community development issues (desirable) 6. Skills & Personal Attributes 6.1 Essential Skills - skills of a high order are required in the following areas: Bachelor in business, marketing, communications, event management or similar. Experience in strategy development and delivery of event-based and community fundraising campaigns and relationship fundraising techniques.
