3 About the novel The author Name Born Family Curiosity Facts Oz stories L. Frank Baum 1856, New York His family is of German, Scottish and Irish origins; he is the seventh of nine children. He does a lot of jobs before becoming a writer: chicken breeder 1, actor, theatre manager, journalist, shop-keeper, salesman. There are lots of Oz stories. There are 14 books in the series! The plot The Wonderful is about a 12-year-old girl,, who lives on a farm in Kansas with her uncle and aunt and a little dog, Toto. One day, a cyclone arrives and carries 2, Toto and their house to the magical land of Oz. Wishing 3 to return home, with the help of the she begins to travel to the Emerald City where the great lives. 6 Act I At the Farm Uncle Henry is a little girl who lives on a farm in Kansas with her Uncle Henry and her Aunt Em. is playing in the garden with her dog, Toto, when her uncle arrives and says: A tornado is coming! Aunt Em goes to the door, she sees the dark sky and she knows immediately that they are in danger! Aunt Em! Come inside and go to the basement! 1 goes inside, but Toto is too scared and hides under the bed. Aunt Em opens the basement door and goes inside. Meanwhile, tries to get Toto out from under the bed. Toto, Toto come here! Suddenly the house starts to shake. falls down to the floor, and Toto jumps into her arms.
