2 Organized in the Leeward Islands by the boats lovers and Raiatea Regatta, the TPR is a Polynesian event highlighted by the races, the atmosphere and the discovery. This is the meeting place for the sailors from Tahiti and her Islands and eventually the world. 4 days of races on the turquoise water of the lagoon, bordered by the barrier reef and the deep blue Ocean, immersed in the friendly Polynesian atmosphere, your five senses will be intoxicated by : The panorama of the regatta : Raiatea the sacred, Tahaa the vanilla island, Huahine the wild and Bora Bora the pearl of the Pacific. The beat of the Toere at the start line, the vivacious Tamures of the local bands during the race-stops nights. The taste of the fresh coco offered on the finish line, of the fish cooked on the coral, the Ipo and the Poe, the flavours of the spit-cooked veal. A culinary delight every night! The garland of scented flowers, the perfume of the Tahaa vanilla, the fragrance of the islands when approching... The feeling of the warm tropical water, the wind in your sails, and the warmth of the sun,... the sweetness of tropical nights. In an authentic atmosphere, with the Polynesian beat, invitation to discover the beauty of the lagoons, the kindness of their inhabitants. More than a race this is a sailing extraganza, a Polynesian festival.

4 Tahiti Pearl Regatta Races and parties program The Tahiti Pearl will be held from March 9th to 12th 2006: one welcome and prologue race day, then 3 days racing. One week of invigorating races as well as onshore festivities every evening, with music, dance, Tahitian cuisine in the village stops during the race. Enjoyment and friendliness are the features of every night at the race-stop points. Come and plunge after the races into the sweetness of the tropical nights, immersed in an authentic atmosphere, with the Polynesian beat. Thursday 9th March - RAIATEA - Day festival of the Sea in Uturoa. Welcome of the Tahiti Pearl Regatta participants - Check in of the boats. All day musical entertainment and exhibition on the thema of the traditional tahitian sailing canoe. Race meeting point and anchoring at the Uturoa harbor. 10:00 AM Boats measurements, 12:00 AM prologue race briefing 2:00 PM Prologue race start off the Uturoa dock 6:00 PM Tahiti Pearl Regatta Welcome cocktail and general briefing Friday 10th March - RAIATEA - BORA BORA - 9:30 AM, regatta Raiatea Bora Bora. start off the Uturoa main dock 30 nautic miles downwind race ( 4 to 6 hours) Arrival in the Bora Bora pass, anchorage inear Motu Tapu, in turquoise water. 6:00 PM music dance post race party at the motu Topua, results of the day, Tahitian food and ambiance guarantee. Saturday 11th March - BORA BORA - TAHAA - 8:30 AM, regatta Bora Bora Tahaa start. 35 nautic miles upwind race to the motu Ceran, the West Pass of Tahaa. 6:00 PM BBQ, post race function and results, all night music and dance on the motu. Sunday 12th March - TAHAA - HUAHINE - 8:30 AM, regatta Tahaa Huahine 35 nautic miles upwind. Arrival in the Pass, horn replaced by the local drums beat and special welcome from the habitants, offering fresh coco and flowers necklaces to the participants. Big final party in the village, with Tahitian dances and music show, a special speech from Monsieur le Maire, and the final results announced by the race committee president.

5 Tahiti Pearl Regatta Boat races rules The race will be subject to the FTV and the I.S.A.F rules. Each crew member must have a Yacht Club license, or became temporary member of the Raiatea Yacht Club. Categories and Handicaps One Catamaran class, one Monuhul class. All boats will be measured and receive a handicap prior to the regatta. Trophies Each race will be congratulated with a wooden trophies from a local artist. The final winner crew will also win pearls and nights in the fabulous Tahaa Pearl Resort. It is the souvenir of the authentic welcome and the pleasure of racing in paradise that everyone will keep. Entry fees fxp ( about 85Euros) per boat and fxp ( about 125 euros) if the boat has a sponsor or is a corporated boat. This fee includes the race organization and the welcome cocktail/diner. - The evening parties will cost about 20 euros each per person. Organization The Tahiti Pearl Regatta is organized by the Raiatea Regatta Organization with the strong support of the Vice presidence of French Polynesia, The Tourism Ministry, the Sport Ministry, the Tahitian Sailing Association, the Raiatea Yacht Club, the race-stop villages (Tahaa, Huahine, Uturoa, Bora Bora) and help by Moorings, Tahiti Yacht Charter, Sunsail and Archipels Croisieres.
