1 CATTLE AND CALVES HIGHLIGHTS Florida All cattle and calves on Florida farms and ranches as of January, 206, including dairy cattle, totaled.69 million head, up 0,000 from 205. Beef cows in Florida were 95,000 head, up 9,000 head from 205. Among the States on January, 206, Florida ranked 0th in beef cows and 8th in total cattle. Calves born during 205 totaled 800,000 head, down 20,000 head from 204. Cash receipts from cattle and calf marketings in Florida were $859 million in 205, down from $868 million in 204. There were 787,000 head of cattle marketed in 205, of which 550,000 head were calves. United States All cattle and calves in the United States as of January, 206, totaled 92.0 million head, 3 percent above the 89. million on January, 205. All cows and heifers that have calved, at 39.6 million head, are 3 percent above the 38.6 million head on January, 205. Beef cows, at 30.3 million head, are up 4 percent from a year ago, Milk cows, at 9.32 million head, are up slightly from the previous year. Cattle and Calves: Cash receipts from marketings of cattle and calves decreased 4 percent from $8.5 billion in 204 to $78.2 billion in 205.
