6 1.1 How to Download Software System Requirements Operating Systems: Windows 7/Vista/XP/2000 (32bit & 64bit) Microsoft.Net Framework 2.0 (Setup will auto detect and install Microsoft.Net Framework if not already present on your computer.) System Requirements: 300 MHz Processor 128 MB RAM (256 MB recommended) 30 MB Disk Space 1. Download the latest version of Listing Factory from 2. Enjoy your free 30-day trial. 1.2 How to Install Software This section provides installation instructions for Listing Factory. 1. After you have downloaded the latest version of Listing Factory, double-click on ListingFactory_Setup.exe. o The Open File Security Warning appears. Page 6
7 2. Click Run. o If User Account Control appears asking for permission, continue to step 3. o If no window appears asking for permission, skip to step Click Yes. 4. The Setup Listing Factory installation wizard appears. Page 7
8 5. Click Next. o The License Agreement appears. 6. Read the License Agreement. 7. If you have read and understand the agreement, select I accept the agreement. o Note: You should not proceed with the installation if you do not understand, or do not agree with the License Agreement. 8. Click Next, and then continue to follow the on screen prompts. o The Select Destination Location appears. Page 8
9 9. Choose the directory to install Listing Factory. o Note: It is recommended to continue with the default directory already selected. 10. Click Next. o The Select Start Menu Folder appears. 11. Choose the directory to create Listing Factory s shortcuts. o Note: It is recommended to continue with the default directory already selected. 12. Click Next. o The Select Additional Tasks appears. 13. If you would like to create additional shortcuts, select your option. Then click Next. Page 9
10 14. When the Ready To Install screen appears, click Install. o After the installation process completes, the Information screen will appear. 15. Read the follow important information and when you re ready to continue with the setup, click Next. 16. Listing Factory will then automatically open up indicating that the installation was successful and is ready to use. Thank you and enjoy! Page 10
11 1.3 How to Activate Software The following section will instruct you on how to activate your software using the license key you purchased. 1. Purchase either the Standard or Pro version of our software from o The license key, in order to activate your software, will be ed to you. 2. Check your and save the attached License.LFLic to your computer. o Note: It s recommended to save the license key to your desktop for easy access. 3. Double-click and run Listing Factory. 4. Locate and click on the Help button on the top right corner of the software. NOTE: The Help button is illustrated as a globe with a? inside of it. 5. In the Help menu, click on Activate Software. o Activate Software window will appear. 6. Click on Activate Software. o The Activate Software window appears. Page 11
12 7. Click Activate Software. 8. Browse in the directory you saved your license key in step 2 and select License.LFLic. o Note: If you followed our recommendation in step 2, the license key s directory should be on the desktop. 9. Click open and a window will appear confirming your activation. 10. Click OK to indicate you have successfully activated your license key. Thank you for activating Listing Factory! 1.4 How to Re-Activate Software License The following guide will instruct you to re-activate or update your Listing Factory license key. This process is usually done after a renewal or change of account. 1. In Listing Factory, click on the Help button on the top right corner. o See note in Section 1.3 step 4 for help distinguishing the Help button. 2. In the Help menu, click on About. o Listing Factory About window will appear. Page 12
13 3. Click Update License. o Activate Software window will appear with two options. 4. From the two options, click on Activate Software. 5. As the Windows directory appears, browse and select your new License.LFLic which you wish to re-activate Listing Factory with. Then click Open. 6. If successful, the Thank You! window will appear confirming you have re-activated your Listing Factory. 1.5 How to Create Listing With Wizard This section will help you create your auctions in minutes by using the step by step wizard to guide you through to the process of adding images, description and policy details, and uploading the content to the web. 1. Double-click and open up Listing Factory. o If Listing Wizard window does not appear on startup, continue to step 2. o If Listing Wizard window appears on startup, skip to step Click Menu on the top left corner of Listing Factory. NOTE: The Menu button is illustrated as a circle with the writing menu inside of it. Page 13
14 3. Inside Menu, click on Step-by-Step Wizard. o Listing Wizard window appears. o Note: You have the option to disable or enable the Open Wizard on Startup option on the bottom of the Listing Wizard window. 4. Simply type a Project Name to title your listing. Then click Next to begin. Page 14
15 5. Select a template from the dropdown list and click Next. 6. Add Item Description and Policy Details. o Step 1: Add Item Description 1) Click on Add Description to open Description Editor. 2) Double or triple-click on the description text in the template. Page 15
16 3) Then replace the description text with your text by deleting or selecting the current text. You also have other options in which to edit your description using the above icons in Description Editor. NOTE: From left to right there are clear editor contents, cut, copy, paste, edit undo, edit redo, format font bold, italic, underlined, justify center, justify right, indent, outdent, numberic list, bullet points, insert table, insert gallery placeholder, insert payment gallery placeholder, insert shipping gallery placeholder, and insert return gallery placeholder. 4) When you have finished, click Update on the bottom right of the page. o Confirm the saved changes by clicking yes. Step 2: Add Listing Policy 1) Click on Add Listing Policy to open up Policy Editor. 2) Use the above tab in Policy Editor to edit your policies. NOTE: You have 6 policies: Payment, Shipping, Return, Guarantee, Terms and Conditions, About Us. You also have the option to save all your policies as preset to use again and again without the need to rewrite it all the time. Do this by clicking on Save As Preset in order to save, and click Load Policy Preset in order to load all your saved policies. Page 16
17 3) When finished adding your policies, click Done. 7. Once you have added both the description and listing policy, click Next. 8. To add images, click Add Image. 9. Browse and select the images on your computer. Then click Open. NOTE: In this display, you have the option to set the size of your Thumb Size images and Large Size images. Also implicated is the feature to add a Watermark to your images. These options can be found on the above tab of the Add Images display. 10. When you have finished adding your images, click Next to finalize your listing. Page 17

In the Finalize display, you have the option to List On ebay, List On Other Auction Site, or Edit In Main Application. o o o List On ebay allows you to list the item directly on ebay using Listing Factory. List On Other Auction Site generates the HTML code needed to paste into other auction sites including Craigslist, ubid, Gunbroker.com, ebay, etc Edit in Main Application allows you to continue the finalization process in the main editor. 12. Select your finalize option and click Finalize. o List On ebay 1) After upload completes, Select ebay User window appears. Page 18
19 If you have not added an ebay user account to Listing Factory, continue to step 2. If you have already added an ebay user account, skip to step 4. 2) Click Add User and enter your ebay username in the following window. 3) Sign in the ebay Authentication & Authorization page and follow the on-screen instructions to successfully add an ebay username to Listing Factory. 4) Select your ebay username from the dropdown listing and click Login. Upload will then complete. Page 19
20 5) Click List On ebay". The List On ebay window appears. o 6) Fill in the required information in accordance to your listing. 7) Once you have completed, click on Submit Listing on the bottom. List On Other Auction Site 1) After upload completes, Listing HTML Copied To Clipboard window appears. 2) Click OK to confirm the HTML has copied. The HTML is copied to your computer s clipboard which is virtually storing the code until it is pasted. NOTE: Once the HTML has been copied, you then need to visit or any other site you wish to list your template. The HTML code, which has been stored on the clipboard, should then Page 20
21 be pasted in the HTML tab of your item description. To paste your HTML code, right click on the area you wish to paste and click paste or press CTRL+V. [For further in-depth tutorial on how to list using the copy/paste method; See Section 1.13.] o Edit in Main Application 1) This option will take you to the Listing Editor Tab. Note: This option allows you to make final changes to your listing through the software interface. [See Section 1.6 on How to Edit in the software interface.] 1.6 How to Create Listing in Main Interface This section will help you create your auctions in minutes by using Listing Factory main interface to guide you through to the process of adding images, description and policy details, and uploading the content to the web. 1. Double-click and open up Listing Factory. o If Listing Wizard window does not appear on startup, continue to step 2. o If Listing Wizard window appears on startup, click Cancel. 2. Select a template in Listing Templates section. o Note: To select a template, click on the bottom scrolling arrow of Listing Templates. Page 21
22 3. Edit the ebay Store Name, Item Title, and Item Description. o Note: In order to edit text, double or triple-click on the text until you sees a blinking indication. NOTE: You will be able to edit the text font color, font size, font name, font style, font justification, font indentation, and bullet/numeric points all in the Format Section of the Listing Editor tab. You can also right click on your selected text and click Format or Justify. 4. Edit the listing policies by clicking on Edit Listing Policy in the Listing Editor tab. o Note: You could also scroll down your templates and double-click on each Policy placeholder to edit that individual policy. 5. When Policy Editor appears, click on Payment Policy, Shipping Policy, Return Policy, Guarantee Policy, Terms and Conditions, and About Us Details to individually edit your policies. Click Done when finished. Page 22
23 6. Click the Step 2: Gallery Editor tab on top. 7. Click Add New Images. o Select and open the images from your computer. 8. Select your Gallery Type from the scroll down arrow. o Multi Page: View images on multiple pages. o Table Gallery w/ Pop Up: View images on a single page in table format. Includes pop-up. o No Java Script: View images without the use of Java Script. o Plain Gallery Thumbs: View images on a single page in table format w/ no pop-up. 9. Select Gallery Columns. 10. Select both image size and thumb size of images. o o Image Size: Size of the enlarged image when clicked on the thumb sized image. Pop-ups only. Thumb Size: Size of the thumb image displayed on the template. Page 23
24 NOTE: You have the option of editing the position, brightness, contrast, midtones, and saturation of the images by double clicking on the image inside the Image Tray above. Click Apply when finished or Cancel to disregard changes. 11. Click on the Step 3: Finalize Listing tab. 12. Type the Listing Name for your listing. 13. Click Finalize Listing. o Upload Complete will appear to confirm a successful upload NOTE: You have the option to preview your listing on ebay before you Finalize Listing. In order to preview your listing on ebay, click on ebay Preview Enabled/Disabled. Page 24

List your product. o If you want to list product directly to ebay using Listing Factory, continue to step 15. o If you want to list on ebay or any other website using the HTML code, skip to step Click List On ebay. o If you have not added an ebay user account to Listing Factory, continue to step 16. o If you have already added an ebay user account, skip to step In the Select ebay User window, click Add User. 17. Enter your ebay user name in the following window. 18. Sign in the ebay Authentication & Authorization page and follow the on-screen instructions to successfully add an ebay username to Listing Factory. Page 25
26 19. Select your ebay username from the dropdown listing and click Login. 20. The List On ebay window appears. o Fill in the required information in accordance to your listing. 21. Once you have completed, click on Submit Listing on the bottom. 22. Click Copy ebay HTML. o Listing HTML Copied To Clipboard appears. 3) Click OK to confirm the HTML has copied. Image gallery will replace the Gallery Placeholder in the final step of the project and can be viewed in the Finalize Listing tab. 23. Click the Step 2: Gallery Editor tab on top. 24. Click Add New Images. o Select and open the images from your computer. Page 27

29 1.8 How to Add YouTube Video to Listing This will help you understand and guide you to add YouTube videos to your listings. 1. Go to and find the video you wish to put in your listing. 2. On the YouTube video page, click on Share under the video. 3. Click on Embed. 4. Make sure Use old embed code is checked. Page 29
30 5. Copy the embed HTML code in the box. o Note: The correct embed HTML code begins with an <object> tag. 6. Inside Listing Factory under the Listing Editor tab, right-click in the area of the template which you wish to put your YouTube video. 7. Click Insert, then click HTML. o Enter HTML window appears. 8. Paste your embed HTML code you copied from your YouTube video. 9. Click OK to see the YouTube video in your listing. 1.9 How to Add Product Description to Listing Section 1.9 will teach you how to add/replace/modify the product description to your listing. 1. Click on Listing Editor tab. 2. Double or triple-click on the text under Item Description. 3. Start to delete, add, replace, or modify the product description text. Page 30
31 1.10 How to Add Policy Details to Listing This section will instruct you on how to add and edit all the policies details in your listing. 1. In Listing Editor, click Edit Listing Policy. o Policy Editor appears. 2. Use the above tab in Policy Editor to edit your policies. NOTE: You have 6 policies: Payment, Shipping, Return, Guarantee, Terms and Conditions, About Us. You also have the option to save all your policies as preset to use again and again without the need to rewrite it all the time. Do this by clicking on Save As Preset in order to save, and click Load Policy Preset in order to load all your saved policies. Page 31
32 3. When finished adding your policies, click Done. NOTE: The text you write for the policies will replace the placeholders that are shown in Listing Editor tab. While still in the Step 1: Listing Editor tab, you will continue to see the placeholder icon, which indicates the place in which your text or content will show. To view the content that is written for the placeholders, click the Step 3: Finalize Listing tab. See below: 1.11 How to Finalize Listing (Upload Images) This section will help you upload and finalize the listing once you have completed your template and wish to list your product. In this step you are also able to view the final look of your project. [This is the step prior to submitting the listing to ebay or other websites; see Section ] 28. Click on the Step 3: Finalize Listing tab. 29. Type the Listing Name for your listing. Page 32
33 30. Click Finalize Listing. o Upload Complete will appear to confirm a successful upload NOTE: You have the option to preview your listing on ebay before you Finalize Listing. In order to preview your listing on ebay, click on ebay Preview Enabled/Disabled. See Section How to List on ebay w/ Internal Listing Form The following section provides instructions on how to list directly on ebay using Listing Factory s internal submit form. [This section follows after you have completed uploading or finalizing your listing; see Section 1.11.] 1. Click on List On ebay. 2. Select ebay User appears. o If you have already added an ebay user account, continue to step 3. o If you have not added an ebay user account to Listing Factory, see Section Page 33
34 3. Choose your ebay username from the dropdown menu and click Login. o Note: You have the option to check Auto Login To This Account. o List On ebay appears. 4. Fill in the required information in accordance to your listing. 5. Once you have completed, click on Submit Listing on the bottom How to List On ebay Using Manual Copy / Paste Method This section teaches you how to list on ebay, or other websites such as Craigs List, using Listing Factory s copy/paste HTML method. [This section follows after you have completed uploading or finalizing your listing; see Section 1.11.] 1. Click on Copy ebay HTML. o Listing HTML Copied To Clipboard appears. Page 34
35 2. Click OK to confirm. o Note: The HTML for your listing has now been copied and stored in the virtual clipboard. 3. Visit and login to your account. 4. Go to sell a product. 5. In the HTML tab of the product description, paste the HTML code. o Note: In order to paste the code, right-click and then click Paste or press cltr+v on your keyboard. 6. Fill out the rest of the information that ebay requests from you and list your product with the template design you have made. NOTE: Using this same concept and tutorial, you are able to also list on other websites, such as Craigs List, ubid, Gunbroker.com, etc., using the templates you make in Listing Factory How to List On ebay Using External Software This guide teaches you how to list on ebay using external software such as Turbo Lister, Blackthorn, etc. [This section follows after you have completed uploading or finalizing your listing; see Section 1.11.] 1. Click Copy ebay HTML. Page 35
36 o Note: The HTML is copied to your computer s clipboard which is virtually storing the code until it is pasted. 2. Paste the ebay HTML code in the HTML View tab of your Description. o Note: This will import the template, you have made in Listing Factory, into Turbo Lister, Blackthorn, etc. 3. Click the "Preview" button to see how your listing will appear to bidders. If you are satisfied with the appearance, click Save and your listing will be ready for upload How to Save and Load Project Files The following section instructs you how to save your current project files as well as load old projects files. Save Project Files 1. Click Menu on the top left. 2. Click Save Project Changes. o If SaveAs Local Project appears, continue to step 3. o If Overwrite Existing Project appears, select Yes to overwrite the existing file or select No to save as a new project. 3. Give your project a name and click OK. Page 36
37 Load Project Files 1. Click on the Saved Projects tab on top. 2. Select your previously saved project. 3. Click Import Into Editor on the right. o Note: You will be asked to override the current open project. Make sure to save all important previous works before loading your project files How to Backup / Restore Project Files This tutorial will teach you how to back up your Listing Factory folder making it easy to backup your files as well as moving it from one pc to another. You will also be able to restore your project files back into another Listing Factory. Backup Project Files 1. From your computer, go to your Documents folder. 2. Locate the Listing Factory folder. 3. Make a copy of the entire folder and save it to your desired backup directory. o Note: The purpose for this is to backup your work or to move your projects from one computer to another. Restore Project Files 1. Locate your backup copy of the Listing Factory folder. 2. From your computer, go to your Documents folder. 3. Replace or add the backup copy of the Listing Factory folder to your Documents folder How to Authorize ebay Account with Listing Factory This section is to instruct how to add and authorize an ebay account or username with Listing Factory. This process needs to be done every time a new ebay username is added. Page 37

Select ebay User appears. 2. Select Add User. o Enter ebay Username appears. 3. Add your ebay username and click OK. 4. Sign in to the ebay Authentication & Authorization page and follow the on-screen instructions to successfully add an ebay username to Listing Factory. 5. Select your ebay username from the dropdown listing and click Login How to Edit Template Design This section will provide step-by-step instructions on how to edit and modify your existing template design. 1. In Listing Editor, click on Modify Template to the right of the panel. o The Modify Template tab will appear. Page 38
39 2. Select the image you wish to change or modify. NOTE: Click on the arrow in the Template Images to view the images or design you are able to replace. For advanced users who wish to edit their images with image editing tools, the image sizes are shown. 3. Click Change Image to the left. 4. Locate and select the image you wish to replace the template s image with. 5. Click Open. 6. When finished, click Done. Page 39

41 2.1 Start New Project This will teach you how to start a new project in Listing Factory using the main interface. 1. Click Menu. 2. Click New Project. o Clear Workspace? appears. o Note: Save all important current work before you continue. 3. Click Yes to clear the workspace and start a new project. o You will have a blank sheet in Listing Editor. 4. Select a template to begin your new project. NOTE: To learn how to select a template and create a listing using the Listing Factory; see Section Start New Project w/ Step By Step Wizard This section will teach you how to start a new project in Listing Factory using the Step By Step Wizard. 1. Click Menu. 2. Click Step By Step Wizard. o Listing Wizard will appear. Page 41
42 NOTE: To learn how to create a listing using the Listing Factory s Step By Step Wizard; see Section Save Project File This section will guide you to save your existing project files. 1. Click Menu. 2. Click Save Project Changes. o Overwrite Existing Project appears. 3. Confirm whether you wish to overwrite your existing project with the changes you ve made. 2.4 Save As New Project File This section will instruct you to save as a new project file. 1. Click Menu. 2. Click Save As New Project. o SaveAs Local Project appears. 3. Give your project a name and click OK Page 42
43 2.5 Export Project File This section will help you export your current project file. This can be used to move the project from computer to computer or to just back up your files. 1. Click Menu. 2. Click Export Project File. 3. Choose a directory on your computer to save the file. o Note: The purpose for this is to backup your work or to move your projects from one computer to another. 2.6 Import Project File This section will help you import your project files. 1. Click Menu. 2. Click Import Project File. 3. Locate the directory on your computer and select the filename.lfp. 4. Click Open. 2.7 Import HTML Template File The following will teach you how to import your own HTML template file you wish to use. 1. Click Menu. 2. Click Import HTML Template. 3. Locate and select your.html file. 4. Click Open to load your HTML template. o Note: JavaScript will not function. Page 43

45 3.1 Change Text Font Size in Editor This will teach you how to change the font size of the text in your title and description. 1. Click on Step 1: Listing Editor tab. 2. In Listing Editor, select the text you wish to change the font size. 3. Click on the Font icon in the format section of the Listing Editor panel. o Note: You can also right-click on the selected text, click Format, then click Font Dialog. NOTE: The Font icon is inside the Format section with a blue italicized capital letter A. 4. Click Apply when finished. 3.2 Change Text Font Color in Editor This will guide you to change the font color of the text in your title and description. 1. In Listing Editor, select the text you wish to change the font color. 2. Click on the Font Color icon in the format section of the Listing Editor panel. o Note: You can also right-click on the selected text, click Format, then click Font Color. NOTE: The Font Color icon is inside the Format section with a variety of small colored boxes. It is directly to the right of the Font icon. Page 45
46 3. Click Apply when finished. 3.3 Change Text Style in Editor This section will help you change the text style of the font in your title and description. The styles include bold, italic, underline, strikeout, subscript, and superscript. 1. In Listing Editor, select the text you wish to change the text style. 2. Click on the Font icon in the format section of the Listing Editor panel. o Note: You can also right-click on the selected text, click Format, then click Font Dialog. Or click on the shortcut style icons above the Font icon. NOTE: The Font icon is inside the Format section with a blue italicized capital letter A. [See Section 3.1] 3. Choose bold, italic, underline, strikeout, subscript, and superscript. o Bold: Applies an emphasis on the boldness of the text. o Italic: Applies an italicized style to the text. o Underline: Draws a line underneath the text. o Strikeout: Draws a line across the text. o Subscript: Places the text in the above position. o Superscript: Places the text in the below position. 4. Click Apply when finished. 3.4 Change Text Justification in Editor This will teach you to edit the text font justification for your description and title. 1. In Listing Editor, select the text you wish to change the justification. 2. Click on one of the 3 Justify icons in the format section of the Listing Editor panel. Page 46
47 o Note: You can also right-click on the selected text, click Justify, then click Left, Center, or Right. NOTE: The 3 Justify icons are inside the Format section with lines aligned to the left, center, and right. 3.5 Change Text Indentation in Editor This will teach you how to insert or remove indentation in your text. 1. In Listing Editor, select the text you wish to insert an indentation to. 2. Click on the Indentation icon in the format section of the Listing Editor panel. o Note: You can also right-click on the selected text, click Format, then click Insert Indentation. NOTE: The Insert and Remove Indentation icons are inside the Format section with arrows pointing to the right and left of the text. 3.6 Change Text Booklet Points/Numeric List This section will teach you how to add booklet points and numeric lists to the text of your listing. 1. Locate and move your cursor to the text you wish to add booklet points/numeric list. 2. Click on the Unordered (Booklet Points) List icon or Ordered List (Numeric) icon in the format section of the Listing Editor panel. Page 47
48 o Note: You can also right-click on the text, click Format, then click either Ordered List or Unordered List. NOTE: The Unordered and Ordered List icons are inside the Format section with bullet points indicating Unordered and numeric points indicating Ordered. 3.7 Undo Changes/Redo Changes This section will help you undo or redo any changes you have made. 1. Click the Undo or Redo icon in the Edit section of the Listing Editor panel. o Note: You can also right-click on the text, click Edit, then click Undo-Typing or Redo-Typing. Keyboard shortcut for undo is Ctrl+Z and shortcut for redo is Ctrl+Y. NOTE: The Undo and Redo icons are inside the Edit section with the words Undo and Redo indicating the action it performs. 3.8 Cut/Copy/Paste Text Content Into Editor In this section, you will learn how to cut or copy text from outside of Listing Factory and paste it into the Listing Editor of Listing Factory. 1. Cut or Copy the text you wish to paste in Listing Factory. o Note: To cut or copy, select the text and right-click on it. Then click Cut or Copy. 2. Double or triple-click on area in your Listing Editor you wish to paste the text. Page 48
49 3. Click the Paste icon inside the Edit section. o Note: To paste, you can also right-click on the text inside Listing Editor, click Edit, then click Paste. NOTE: The Cut, Copy, Paste icons are inside the Edit section with writings indicating Cut, Copy, and Paste. 3.9 Insert Single Image From Editor Tab You will learn, in this section, how to insert single images from the Listing Editor tab. 1. Double or triple-click on the area, you wish to insert the image, until you see a blinking cursor. 2. Click Single Image in the Insert section of Listing Editor. 3. Locate and select the image from your computer. 4. The Insert Image window appears. Page 49
50 5. Select your options: o Unmodified Insert the image without any changes. o Modify Options to resize, create large popup, add image borders, and/or link to URL. 6. Click Insert. Resize Change the size of your single image. Create Large Popup Create a larger popup image which is shown when your image is clicked on. Image Border Add a border to your image. Select border size, border color, and border style. Link To URL Allows you to add a link for that image Insert Gallery Image Set From Editor Tab This section will help you create a new gallery set with several images. You can have as many gallery sets as you would like. 1. Double or triple-click on the area, you wish to insert the gallery image set, until you see a blinking cursor. 2. Click Image Gallery in the Insert section of Listing Editor. 3. Gallery Creator appears. 4. Click Add Image to add images to your gallery. 5. Select and customize the Gallery Type, Columns, Thumb Size, and Image Size. o Gallery Type Choose either Plain Gallery or Plain Gallery With Popup. Plain Gallery Gallery Image set with no larger popup image when clicked. Page 50
51 Plain Gallery With Popup Gallery Image set with a larger popup image when clicked. o Columns Set number of columns for your gallery. o Thumb Size Set the thumbnail size of your images. o Image Size If you have a gallery with popup, set the popup image size. 6. Click Insert Insert Create Animation This section will teach you how to add a set of images to be animated in a sequence as one animated image. 1. Double or triple-click on the area, you wish to insert the animation, until you see a blinking cursor. 2. Click Create Animation in the Insert Section of Listing Factory. 3. The Animation Builder appears. 4. Click Add Image to add the images in your animation. Page 51

Select your options: o Frame Delay Set the time(in milliseconds) in which each image should pause or delay before animating to the next image. o Image Size Choose the image size of your animation. o Behavior Select Loop Animation or Play Once. 6. Click Insert. Loop Animation All the sequence of images are set to repeat or loop. Play Once Once a single, full sequence of the images has shown, animation will stop Insert Web Link In this section, you will learn how to make your selected existing text into a web link or URL link. 1. Select and highlight the text you wish to add a web link to. 2. Click Insert Weblink in the Insert Section of Listing Editor. 3. Insert or type the web link in the box labeled URL. 4. Choose your Target or leave it alone for the default option. o New Window The link that is clicked on opens up in a new browser window. o Same Window The link that is clicked on opens up in the same browser window. o Default The default option is set to Same Window. 5. Click Insert Link. NOTE: To remove an existing web link, select and highlight your complete web link text and click Insert Weblink. If the correct and full web link text is selected, you will see the URL in the URL box. If you do not see an existing URL in the URL box, click Cancel and select the correct web link text. Once you see the URL, indicating you ve selected the web link text, click Remove Link to remove your existing web link. Page 52
53 3.13 Insert Template Placeholder This section will instruct you to insert a template placeholder for gallery, description, payment policy, shipping policy, returns policy, terms policy, guarantee policy, and about us details policy. 1. On the bottom left corner, click on Basic Interface. <img> 2. Click on Advanced from the drop-down menu. 3. Double or triple-click on the area you wish to insert the placeholder. 4. Click on Place Holders in the Insert section of Listing Editor. 5. From the drop-down menu, choose the placeholder you wish to insert. o Note: You can have one of each placeholder per project Insert Listing Policies From Policy Editor This section will teach you how to edit and insert your listing policies from the policy editor. 1. In Listing Editor, click Edit Listing Policy. o Policy Editor appears. Page 53
54 2. Use the above tab in Policy Editor to edit your policies. NOTE: You have 6 policies: Payment, Shipping, Return, Guarantee, Terms and Conditions, About Us. You also have the option to save all your policies as preset to use again and again without the need to rewrite it all the time. Do this by clicking on Save As Preset in order to save, and click Load Policy Preset in order to load all your saved policies. 3. When finished adding your policies, click Done. o See Section 1.10 in regards to your Gallery Placeholder and viewing your gallery on your template Switch To Basic/Advanced Interface of the Software This section will show you how to switch the interface of Listing Factory from basic to advanced with a few additional options. In the advanced interface, you are given the additional option to insert placeholders and a table. 1. On the bottom left corner, click on Basic Interface. Page 54

57 4.1 Clear Image Tray In this section, you will learn how to clear the tray in your Gallery Editor tab. This will remove all images in your current gallery. 1. Click on Step 2: Gallery Editor tab. 2. Click on Clear Tray in the Images section of Gallery Editor. 3. Clear Image Tray confirmation window appears: 4. Click either Yes or No according to whether you wish to clear the gallery image tray or not. 4.2 Remove Selected Image From Tray This section will show you how to remove an individually selected image from the gallery image tray. 1. Select the image you wish to remove from the Image Tray section. 2. Click Remove Image in the Images section. Page 57
58 4.3 Rearrange Images in Gallery Set In this section, you will learn to rearrange the order of images in your gallery. 1. Select the image you wish to move or rearrange from the Image Tray section. 2. Click on either the left arrow or the right arrow in the Image Tray section to rearrange the images to the left or right. 4.4 Change Gallery Types In this section, you will be able to learn about and change the gallery types. 1. Select your Gallery Type from the scroll down arrow. o o o o Multi Page - View images on multiple pages. Table Gallery w/ Pop Up - View images on a single page in table format. Includes pop-up. No Java Script - View images without the use of Java Script. Plain Gallery Thumbs - View images on a single page in table format w/ no pop-up. 4.5 Change Gallery Column Count This section will help you learn about and change the number of columns and rows in your gallery. 1. Select your Gallery Columns from the drop-down menu. o Note: This option will slightly vary depending on the gallery type you selected in Section 4.4. Page 58
59 4.6 Resize Large Pop-Up Image In this section, you will be instructed to resize the large pop-up image. The large pop-up image is the image that is viewed when the smaller thumbnail image is clicked on. 1. Locate the Image Size. 2. Select a size for your large pop-up image from the drop-down menu. o Note: The Image Size is the size of the enlarged image when clicked on the thumb sized image. This option is only available for gallery types with pop-ups only. 4.7 Resize Thumb Image In this section, you will be instructed to resize the thumb size image. 1. Locate the Thumb Size. 2. Select a size for your thumb size image from the drop-down menu. o Note: The Thumb Size is the size of the thumb image displayed on the template. Page 59
60 4.8 Adjust Image Options This section will teach you to edit or adjust the options of your image. These features range from brightness to position to saturation. 1. Click on the image you wish to adjust from the Image Tray section. o The adjustment tools for that image will be shown to the right. 2. Edit the image and click Apply when finished. o Note: You also have the option to Cancel or Reset your changes. 4.9 Watermark Options This section, you will learn and be able to add a watermark to your images. 1. Click on Watermark Images from the Watermark section. o Watermark Options drop-down menu will appear. 2. Check Enable Image Watermark 3. Choose your options. o Text The text which will be presented as a watermark. o Watermark Size Size of the watermark. Page 60
61 o Transparency The transparency of the watermark. The higher the scale, the less transparent the watermark will be. o Position Choose to place the watermark either random, top left, top right, bottom left, or bottom right. o Font Select the font of the watermark text. o Color Select the color of your watermark. 4. 63 5.1 Enable/Disable ebay Preview of the Listing In this section, you will be introduced to the Finalize Listing tab and be familiarized with the ebay Preview feature of Listing Factory. EBay Preview allows you to see how your template will look on ebay s website before uploading your listing. 1. Click on Step 3: Finalize Listing tab. 2. Click on ebay Preview Disabled/Enabled in the Preview Mode section. o Note: You are able to toggle the preview mode by enabling and disabling at any point. 5.2 Finalize a Listing to Post On ebay This section will get you familiar with finalizing your listing and uploading your images. 1. Type the Listing Name of your project. o Note: Make sure ListingFactory Hosting is selected from the Upload To list. 2. Click Finalize Listing. o It will be shown when the upload completes. 5.3 Featured Options to List on ebay In this section, you will get familiarized with the listing options and features Listing Factory has to offer. 64 List On ebay Feature 1. Click on List On ebay. 2. Select ebay User appears. o If you have already added an ebay user account, continue to step 3. o If you have not added an ebay user account to Listing Factory, see Section Choose your ebay username from the dropdown menu and click Login. o Note: You have the option to check Auto Login To This Account. o List On ebay appears. 4. Fill in the required information in accordance to your listing. 5. Once you have completed, click on Submit Listing on the bottom. List on ebay via HTML 1. Click on Copy ebay HTML. Page 64
65 o Listing HTML Copied To Clipboard appears. 2. Click OK to confirm. o Note: The HTML for your listing has now been copied and stored in the virtual clipboard. 3. Visit and login to your account. 4. Go to sell a product. 5. In the HTML tab of the product description, paste the HTML code. o Note: In order to paste the code, right-click and then click Paste or press cltr+v on your keyboard. 6. Fill out the rest of the information that ebay requests from you and list your product. NOTE: To list your project on other similar websites using the HTML code feature, see Section To use the HTML code feature with 3 rd party listing software such as Blackthorn or TurboLister, see Section Page 65

67 6.1 Load Previous Saved Project This section will get you familiar with and learn how to load your previously saved projects. 1. Click on the Saved Projects tab on top. 2. Select your previously saved project. 3. Click Import Into Editor on the right. o Note: You will be asked to override the current open project. Make sure to save all important previous works before loading your project files 6.2 Delete Previous Saved Project In this section, you will learn and get familiar with deleting your previously saved project. This feature is added and used to free up space on your hosting. Warning: This will delete and break your current ebay listings so be sure to only delete previously saved project that are not longer listed on ebay. 1. Click on the Saved Projects tab. 2. Select your saved project you wish to delete. 3. Click Delete Project on the right. 4. Delete Local Listing Project appears. 5. Click Yes or No to confirm your choice. Page 67

69 7.1 Change Application Skin This section will teach you how to change the application skin of Listing Factory. 1. Click on the Option icon on the top right corner. 2. Click on Skin from the drop-down menu. 3. Choose the skin 7.2 FTP Manager In this section, you will get familiar with the FTP manager and have the ability to change FTP hosting. 1. Click on the Option icon on the top right corner. 2. Click on FTP Manager from the drop-down menu. 3. FTP Manager appears. Page 69
70 4. Fill in your FTP information. o Connection Name Enter a name to title this FTP connection set up. o Server Address Enter the address of your FTP server. For example: ftp.address.com o Username Username of your FTP server. o Password Password of your FTP server. o Port Default port is usually 21 unless different from the FTP server. o Root Directory Root directory should be written as the following: /public_html/ o Main Directory Main directory should be written as the following: /public_html/ebayauctions o Web URL Enter the web URL of your website. For example: (make sure to include the in the beginning and the / at the end) 5. Click OK when done. o Note: You also have the option to Save, Delete, and set up a New connection. 7.3 Add ebay Username In this section, you will be instructed how to add an ebay username. [This section follows after finalizing your listing. See Section 1.11.] 1. After upload completes, click on List On ebay. 2. Select ebay User window appears. 3. Click Add User and enter your ebay username in the following window. 4. Sign in the ebay Authentication & Authorization page and follow the on-screen instructions to successfully add an ebay username to Listing Factory. Page 70

From the drop-down menu, click Online Documentation. o This will take you to our online help documentations section. 8.3 Activate Software In this section, you will be able to activate the software with the license key that was provided to you. 1. Purchase either the Standard or Pro version of our software from o The license key, in order to activate your software, will be ed to you. 2. Check your and save the attached License.LFLic to your computer. o Note: It s recommended to save the license key to your desktop for easy access. Page 73
74 3. Click on the Help icon on the top right corner of the software. 4. In the Help menu, click on Activate Software. o Activate Software window will appear. 5. Click on Activate Software. o The Activate Software window appears. 6. Click Activate Software. 7. Browse in the directory you saved your license key in step 2 and select License.LFLic. o Note: If you followed our recommendation in step 2, the license key s directory should be on the desktop. 8. Click open and a window will appear confirming your activation. 9. Click OK to indicate you have successfully activated your license key. 8.4 Update Software In this section, you will be able to update your license in case you have renewed your account or any other reason that might require you to update your license. For this section, you will need to have the new license key you wish to update either on your desktop or an easy-to-access directory on your computer you can easily retrieve. Page 74

78 9.1 ebay Authorization Token Expired This section will help you troubleshoot through the ebay Authorization Token Expired error you received. If you receive this error, it just means you need to add your ebay username again. If necessary, remove the current username and add it again. [To learn how to add an ebay username, see Section 7.3] 9.2 Unable To Upload Images (Firewall Blocking Listing Factory) In this section, you will be instructed to add an exception to your firewall or any 3 rd party software that is blocking Listing Factory from uploading images or your listing. A good indication of a firewall blocking Listing Factory would be if during the upload, the process seems to not be completing. Add Exception: Windows XP/Vista Firewall 1. Click the Start button on your task bar. 2. Select Control Panel. o In Windows Vista, control panel is on the right pane. o In Windows XP, control panel is on the left pane. o In Windows XP Classic, from the left pane select Settings then select control panel. 3. Locate and open up Windows Firewall. Page 78
79 o If Windows Firewall is on, continue to step 4. o If Windows Firewall is off, stop here and skip Windows Firewall. 4. Click on the Exceptions tab. 5. Click Add Program. 6. Add a Program appears. 7. Click Browse. 8. Locate and open Listing Factory.exe in the C:\Program Files\Listing Factory folder. 9. Click OK when finished. o This will return you to the Windows Firewall Settings window. 10. In Windows Firewall Settings window, click Add Port. 11. For the Name, type LFPort. 12. For the Port Number, type 21. Page 79
80 13. Select both TCP and UDP. o If both options are unavailable to select, select TCP. 14. Click OK on all windows to complete the process. Add Exception: Windows Vista Firewall 1. Click the Start button on your task bar. 2. Select Control Panel from the right pane. 3. Open up Windows Firewall. o If Windows Firewall is on, continue to step 4. o If Windows Firewall is off, skip Windows Firewall. 4. Click on the Allow a program through Windows Firewall link on the left pane. 5. Click on Change Settings. o If Change Settings is grayed out, skip to step Find Listing Factory from the list. o If Listing Factory is on the list, continue to step 7. o If Listing Factory is not on the list, skip to step Check the box next to Listing Factory. o If Listing Factory is unchecked, skip to step 10. o If Listing Factory is already checked, stop here and skip Windows Firewall.
