3 Introducing Impact Inkjet & Toner Recycler Impact Inkjet & Toner Recycler (Impact) is a Kent based limited company registered in England and Wales and incorporated in The company was previously known as Impact Recycling and has been recycling and processing waste in Medway since Today, Impact focuses on recycling office consumables; as a long standing, experienced contractor Impact provides specialist recycling services for inkjets and toner cartridges, plus a range of other typical office waste materials. Impact has extensive experience operating as a recycling and waste re-processing contractor for local and national business, schools, charities and local authorities, thus, you can be assured you are working hand-in-hand with a seasoned and reputable recycling partner. Impact constantly monitors changes within the recycling industry and particularly any legislative developments. This means we can ensure that our clients are meeting all relevant compliance standards. We issue Duty of Care certificates for all clients to enable them to demonstrate that they are disposing of waste responsibly. As an organisation, we have vast industry knowledge and experience and we practice what we preach. We operate to strict quality and operational policies and procedures to ensure recycling industry best practice together with committed care and consideration for the environment, stakeholders, partners and employees. Copies of our licences and exemptions are can be supplied together with other relevant documents separately on request. We aim to work closely with all clients: providing advice and support to help them improve recycling rates for all waste types; to ensure compliance with current waste management and environmental legislation and to increase their green credentials. We aim wherever possible to offer a free recycling service, where costs are applied we undertake to make these clear and keep them to a minimum. We deal with any queries promptly over the phone or in writing and, where appropriate, we will arrange a site visit. Please call us on or mail@impactrecycling.co.uk to find out more about our services or to discuss your specific recycling needs and how we can help you. Impact Inkjet & Toner Recycler Reception 3
4 Why Recycle? With today's environmental concerns and growing pressure on landfill it is becoming more important than ever for businesses to recycle whenever and wherever they can. Let s look at just a few of the reasons Landfill sites are filling up & we are simply running out of room to bury our waste! Each year millions of inkjet & toner cartridges are sent to landfill in the UK that s a mountain of plastic & other valuable resources that could be re-used or recycled being buried under the ground for no good reason. Each cartridge & inkjet takes hundreds of years to breakdown & some parts may never fully biodegrade, plus the inks and toners used are, in many cases, classified as hazardous waste. The major component in each cartridge is plastic, & one of the major ingredients used to produce plastic is oil. It takes about a litre of oil to produce one little inkjet and around three and a half litres to produce a toner cartridge. Picture again that mountain of empty cartridges being thrown away each year rather than being re-used or recycled demand for inkjets and toners continues to grow so why use millions and millions of gallons of virgin oil to produce new ones rather than simply reusing those we ve already produced? Producing new is a massive waste of a precious natural resource & with rising oil prices it s a cost that impacts on our pockets. Added to that, environmental legislation is growing all the time as is the requirement for businesses to have robust environmental quality management systems recycling your office consumables helps to support the growing green agenda. When you recycle with us we will issue duty of care certificates to enable you to demonstrate your green credentials. That s just a few examples of the reasons to and benefits of recycling our empty printer cartridges and other office waste it really is simple you just need a separate recycling bin for each waste type, - Impact Inkjet & Toner Recycler will take care of the rest! We make it as simple and cost effective as possible for you to recycle your unwanted office consumables and offer a reliable 'on demand' collection service for businesses based in Kent and London. Our charges are extremely competitive and in many cases recycling is completely FREE! 4
5 Recyclable Materials Guide IMPACT recycle the following office consumables 1. Inkjets* 2. Printer/Toner Cartridges* 3. CDs 4. DVDs 5.
